Democracy In Libya: al-Qaeda Takes Missiles & Rebel Commander Admits To Fighting Against U.S.

Loading

Just wonderful:

AL-QAEDA’S offshoot in North Africa has snatched surface-to-air missiles from an arsenal in Libya during the civil strife there, Chad’s President says.

Idriss Deby Itno did not say how many surface-to-air missiles were stolen, but told the African weekly Jeune Afrique that he was “100 per cent sure” of his assertion.

“The Islamists of al-Qaeda took advantage of the pillaging of arsenals in the rebel zone to acquire arms, including surface-to-air missiles, which were then smuggled into their sanctuaries in Tenere,” a desert region of the Sahara that stretches from northeast Niger to western Chad, Deby said in the interview.

“This is very serious. AQIM is becoming a genuine army, the best equipped in the region,” he said.

His claim was echoed by officials in other countries in the region who said that they were worried that al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) might have acquired “heavy weapons”, thanks to the insurrection.

Oh, it gets better:

Elsewhere in the interview, Chad’s president backed the assertion by his neighbour and erstwhile enemy Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi that the protests in Libya have been driven in part by al-Qaeda.

“There is a partial truth in what he says,” Deby said.

“Up to what point? I don’t know. But I am certain that AQIM took an active part in the uprising.”

Hmmmm, an active part in the uprising you say? Well then, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that a top commander of those Democracy lovin’ rebels once fought against the United States in Afghanistan:

In his more recent remarks to Il Sole 24 Ore, al-Hasadi admits not only to fighting against U.S. troops in Afghanistan, but also to recruiting Libyans to fight against American forces in Iraq. As noted in my earlier PJM report here, captured al-Qaeda personnel records show that al-Hasadi’s hometown of Darnah sent more foreign fighters to fight with al-Qaeda in Iraq than any other foreign city or town and “far and away the largest per capita number of fighters.” Al-Hasadi told Il Sole 24 Ore that he personally recruited “around 25” Libyans to fight in Iraq. “Some have come back and today are on the front at Ajdabiya,” al-Hasadi explained, “They are patriots and good Muslims, not terrorists.” “The members of al-Qaeda are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader,” al-Hasadi added.

The revelations about al-Hasadi’s involvement in the anti-American jihad are particularly troubling in light of clear evidence that Western forces are coordinating their attacks on Libyan government targets with rebel forces.

Obama has no idea, none whatsoever, the can of worms he has opened with his decision (when he finally did make the decision) to back these bad guys in their fight against another bad guy.

Maybe Obama does know what he did, and he just doesn’t care.

Al-Qaeda can now operate openly and with impunity. they know we have a weak leader who is completely sympathetic with their cause and the end game which is the eradication of Israel! One should not be the least bit surprised by this!

I know there is quite a lot of intel concerning the Middle eastern and North African countries. Why hasn’t it been used for this administration to make better decisions? That answer would fill a book and likely will.

We have started a hot technological war against an older neutralized enemy of the United States to aid a current enemy of the United States; because our neutralized enemy was kicking ass on our current enemy. Now, the enemies of the US and Israel will have advanced weapons to deploy against us. These same people who cheered the Lockerbie killer’s return home will now be able to kill American servicemen more efficiently.

Obama and his three harpies have now put a death sentence on many of our sons and daughters to advance their crusade against Israel and build the strength of our enemy, Radical Islam.

Their passionate entreaties about promoting Democracy in the Middle East is a ruse; the Muslim movement exists the Middle East is to establish Islamic States. There is no compassion for the Jew or the Infidel, we are nothing more than potential slaves and our women are considered potential prostitutes: there is no compassion for the common Muslim, their Utopian Islamism is an authoritarian wet dream of our Liberal Progressives, where Wealthy Elite Islamic Rulers control everything and the common man lives in poverty, but can find solace in his destitute life by knowing he lives in a beautiful state of Islamic oppression. To advance these Islamic crimes against humanity, our president along with Hillary Big Balls Clinton and Samantha Give Me Power have unleashed the technological might of our kinetic potential against a witless Libyan dictator who was killing our enemies with due haste and diligence.

Hopefully, the Islamic Fundamentalists will award this dynamic trio some type of Islamic award in recognition of their contributions to the enemies of freedom and our way of life.

How long before we lose a helo in Iraq or the Stan from a missle smuggled from stockpiles in Libya? I blame the press for “humanizing” this conflict as they did in Egypt and they are in other places like children worried about polar bears or penguins without context or ramification quantification. (wow)

They wanted to ignore the humanitarian side of liberating Iraq. They played up the stories that we couldn’t trust who we were helping. ( of course many bad choices, but the press made an issue of it).

Hillary and the other two influential women pushed the President into a war he didn’t want. Had we not intervened it would have been obviously preferred. What a true quagmire now.

Welcome our next guest to the show everybody…. a nice round of applause for MR. UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES!!!!

In this PJMedia story al-Hasadi is said to be saying, ‘no, I’m not the ”Emir.” ‘
But as leader of the rebels he is doing what a would-be emir has to do: prove he is a strong horse as opposed to a weak one.
IF, he doesn’t simply take that title at the end of hostilities (or whenever) he certainly could be elected.
Not only has he proven strong in leading a rabble against their 41 year dictator, but he even has big infidel countries doing all the really heavy lifting for him!

Look at Obama’s record in the Islamic uprisings…..
Iran (an extremist Islamic state) has youth uprisings wanting democracy: Obama does nothing.
Syria (an extremist safe-house for Hezbolla, Islamic Jihad and Hamas) has youths wanting democracy: Obama does nothing.
Afghanistan (so corrupt that the Taliban is being bribed into the gov’t) Obama dithered until the Taliban was safe, then backed an extremely limiting ROE for his ”surge” (And used the existence of the surge as a budget ploy!)
Egypt: Obama dithered now it will become an extremist Islamic state.
Libya: Obama is on the side of the extremist Islamists.
Israel: (The only democracy in the ME) Obama equates adding a room to your house in Israel with bombing a nightclub! The Arab world is waiting to try this UN-runs-the-US-forces to make our troops again do their dirty work and this time wipe Israel off the map.

Gee, I don’t know about you, but I see a pattern forming.

@Nan G #6: Kudos! Well put. Unfortunately, I would have gone off on a tirade stating those exact facts! LOL!

Terrific video about Obama’s ”Just like a kenetic affair” to the music of Bob Dylan’s ”Just like a woman,”
here.
Chorus:
And it looks just like a Real War

And it sounds just like a Real War

And it kills just like a Real War

But they call it a kinetic affair.

If that version is not centered use this one:

Alright, so, . . . Obama does NOT want to take the lead, does NOT want to make decisions, and does NOT want to be seen as entering the troops he commands into another war – he WANTS NATO to lead America’s military might (because there is nothing like it anywhere else) and to lend it to Libyan Rebels in their fight against Gaddafi.

Would any reader here lend a rifle, a car, a cooking pot, . . . anything, to someone you do not know.
Would you lend your most valuable asset to someone you know nothing about?
Would you lend your most valuable asset to someone who’s intentions you nothing about?

Mercenary: “A person who takes part in military conflict primarily concerned with material reward at the expense of ethics “

It seems that if Obama is going to allow the use of the U.S. military as a mercenary force by persons unknown, he should at the very least negotiate for America to get paid for it.

. . . . Of course, 52% of voters elected a CiC into office that they knew Nothing about either.

You want to know what the problem with our nation is? It’s not Obama, he’s a loser, it’s the fact that there is no “opposition” party to speak of in the House. I urinate on the flacid Repbulicans.

Peter King will support more funds for military operations in Libya

The top-ranking Republican on homeland security issues in the House said he would support President Obama if he had to request more money from Congress to continue U.S. military operations in Libya.

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, stressed that the U.S. needs to “take out Gadhafi” but that Obama needs to tell lawmakers exactly what the White House’s end-game scenario is going forward.

“I want us to take out Gadhafi,” said King on CNN’s John King on Friday evening. “I want this effort to be successful. I just don’t think it’s been thought through. So I would not be willing to cut off funding. I want the president to lay out exactly what our plan is.”

As Congress continues to deadlock in its arguments over the federal budget and spending plans, with Republicans attempting to slash billions more than Democrats want, the issue of how to pay for any continued U.S. military action against Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gadhafi is highly likely to be launched to the forefront of debate next week.

Skook,
You nailed it, as usual.

“It is our military that is being volunteered by others to carry out missions that are important not only to us, but are important internationally.”– President Obama.
