Of course the man is getting under the skin of liberals, like Steve Benen complaining that West wants our leaders to lead by example…imagine that, our leaders in Washington leading by example:
Rep.-elect Allen West (R-Fla.), well positioned to be one of the House’s most ridiculous members, is the featured interview today in the New York Times’ Sunday magazine.
The NYT’s Deborah Solomon asked West about President Obama’s relationship with the military. The right-wing Republican, a scandal-plagued Army veteran, replied, “I don’t know, you gotta ask guys in the military, but I will tell you this: I think that going in in the middle of the night doesn’t show leadership.”
…But I’m also fascinated by what unhinged conservatives can come up with when it comes to whining about the president.
I guess Benen must of slept through the Bush presidency and the complete, utter lunacy that came from the left.

West is “ridiculous”? Benen obviously must be a racist, by the left’s own definition. Oh, sorry, I forgot that it is impossible for leftists to be racists by their definition. And it is doubly impossible for a leftist to be racist to a conservative black man, no matter how ugly the insult. Reality, morality, and ethics are pliable objects in the hands of the Ruling Class Media.
I wish Allen West the best. Unfortunately, I do not believe he will succeed. He is a smart, aware young man with loyality enough for all of the lefties in Congress. To those of us in Iraq, he is a hero who didn’t talk about what needed to be done to protect his troops, he did what needed to be done. The US Congress is a different war. LTC (retired) West has my support. I just do not know if he can survive all of the stabs in the back he likely will encounter during this next two years. The Dems are already getting someone to run against him in 2012.

After 19 or 20 years in the military, Allen West was asked if he would fire his gun again to get information of imminent attack from another prisoner….as he had and got info from a prisoner in Iraq.
He answered, “If it’s about the lives of my men and their safety, I’d go through hell with a gasoline can.”

I Trust LTC West to get on with that despite the howling, gnashing of teeth and attempts at undermining His determination to get the Republic restored and the grave and close to fatal mistakes of the 110th and 111th Congress corrected. I strongly support him. I expected nothing less from Him.
I have faith and trust in LtCol West: he speaks for me or at least from the feelings in my heart, for there is finally a politician in Washington who isn’t afraid to speak up and state the truth; the only one that I’d consider a worthy opponent physically or mentally.

Nan G, I remember hearing about that story on the radio and I said to myself, “damn, that man is a leader”, and then they said they were going to do an investigation and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
This man is one who will stand up, just like Palin. He’s already proved that by joining the Black Caucus (very liberal) and if you’ve been following the videos of him, he says what he means and means what he says….would vote for him a a heartbeat.
Do a search on Allen West over on YouTube. Just make sure you allot plenty of time as you’ll surely will not be disappointed.
Now if we could get several hundred more like him and his mindset we might be able to turn this runaway freight train around and get back to the “Constitutional Republic” we once were.
I have been watching him for a couple of years, I think that I have a serious case of “man crush” and don’t feel the least bit bad about it. I hope that he and other Conservatives will be able to restore the Republic.

Allen West is very different from most politicians. He is not in it for fame. He is doing it because it is best for our country. I would vote for him for everything up to an including President of the United States (being as we currently don’t have one).

A successful ambush pulled off by our enemy with multiple casualties and KIA’s?? I’d love to hear your answer for a good laugh. Oh…Just to end the discussion (at least I am ending it at any rate) I do know the terms, the history and the Constitution. I am proud to say that I have made all of the above a special educational objective for me ever since I came into this country and proudly became a citizen. Actually, I had to work quite hard for my citizenship, a process which has not ended even though my swearing in ceremony took place almost fifty years ago. And by the way, to say that the Republican Party has been the ones to more closely follow the Constitution is really a distortion of the truth.
