Get Ready for $6-8 a Gallon Gas [Reader Post]

You never want a serious crisis to go to waste”

This is the kind of stuff that makes you believe in conspiracies.

It could be said that Sen. Chuck Schumer catalyzed the banking crisis when he publicly badmouthed IndyMac and caused a panic with a run on the bank that eventually cascaded into the full blown credit crisis. It turned out to be a fortuitous turns of events for Barack Obama who might not have won the Presidential election had it not been for the credit crisis.

Thank you Chuck Schumer.

Now Barack Obama is using the Gulf oil spill crisis to press his energy agenda. Obama has ordered 33 oil wells in the Gulf shut down. That’s going to hurt Louisiana:

Chris John, president of the Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association, said a temporary shutdown of well operations could put people out of work, and will affect offshore marine service companies, catering companies and Louisiana-based suppliers.

Whether it is really necessary to shut these wells down is a matter of debate:

Given that all 33 rigs recently passed inspections, John suggested that the moratorium is unnecessary.

The effect of halting off-shore drilling could be catastrophic:

“While we dream about a new energy system that is decades in the future, the prices that consumers will have to pay for things like gasoline, electricity, and diesel would just skyrocket” if America halts offshore driller, Hofmeister tells Aaron and Henry in the accompanying segment. “Prices could get to the point where fixed-income and low-income people are simply taken out of the personal mobility marketplace, which would be a shock and unnecessary because of our unwillingness to produce domestic resources.”

How much of a shock? $6-8 a gallon.

If you have watching this terrible event closely, you’ll note that Obama did not take it seriously at first. Then as the public outcry got louder and pressure grew on Obama he began to ratchet up the pressure on BP, rattling the saber and threatening BP with prosecution. If the public turns on Obama even more, one almost expects that Obama would simply incarcerate BP’s CEO.

Obama has seized upon this crisis to push his dream agenda:

“The time has come, once and for all, for this nation to fully embrace a clean energy future,” Obama said. “That means [making] everything from our homes and businesses to our cars and trucks more energy efficient. It means tapping into our natural gas reserves, and moving ahead with our plan to expand our nation’s fleet of nuclear power plants. And it means rolling back billions of dollars in tax breaks to oil companies so we can prioritize investments in clean energy research and development.”

And then other shoe drops:

The president also renewed his call for what critics characterize as a carbon tax.

“The only way the transition to clean energy will succeed is if the private sector is fully invested in this future,” he said. “And the only way to do that is by finally putting a price on carbon pollution.”

This would for certain destroy the country financially and render us entirely unable to compete in the world economy. We can’t say he didn’t warn us:

This would make $6-8 a gallon gas look cheap. That is, if you could find it.

Is any of this a surprise? Obama is a child of the Cloward/Piven method of economic destruction. How else can our P[rogessive]OTUS make us no better than any other third world nation. We are about to see the domino effect, first Greece, now Hungary, perhaps Spain, France and the rest of the EU. Obama cannot achieve parity amoung nations when the U.S. continues to lead the free world in all things.

But then, there will be “subsidies” for poor families to pay for that $8/gallon gas. More redistribution of wealth (except for rich Democrats who will, like Ted Kennedy, offshore their money).

As other nations learn that socialism do not work, we are on the bullet train heading toward it. Why? Because American socialists believe that the only reason it has never worked before is because the right people were not in charge but they are now, in the U.S.

Constitution be damned.

I found it amusing the other day when ObaMao said something about taking away tax breaks for oil companies….
Not sure what those tax breaks are exactly but who the helll do all the kool aid drinkers think is going to pay for that?
The oil companies will simply pass those increased costs to the consumers while the naive believe the idiot in office is really teaching those evil oil companies a lesson…

Any liberals you know who spout off about those horrible oil companies, tell them to put there money where their mouth is. Tell them to give up all transportation that requires the burning of any petroleum based fuel. Tell them they are a hypocrite if they do anything other than lead the charge against global warming….
I haven’t had any takers but I sure have pissed off a few of them.

EPA is closing down refineries in Texas right now …

Never let an oil leak go to waste?

@Bill

How do you spell “facist”?

D.E.M.O.C.R.A.T. Emphasis on the RAT.

PATVANN: hi, it should read,”DEMON CRACK, bye 🙄

or DemonicRats

DONALD BLY: hi, did you escape?, the laundry room is not confortable enough anymore?. and you could not resist the temptation to come and check on us?. now they ate all the stick while you where silent. bye 🙄

@plainjane31, I don’t view the selling of shares to pay off a mortgage as anything sniffing of nefarious or conspiratorial motives. Pretty much all of Europe has been heading into a financial rock and a hard place, and the Greek columns were (and since, have…) about to fall. Considering the economic repercussions, and Britain’s high GDP to debt rates, I’d want my house free and clear as well, and would get out before the currency hit bottom.

Other than that, what possible motive could the man have to supposedly hold something back that he knew… as you seem to allude… that would cost lives, catastrophic environmental damage, and threaten BP’s future existence? Makes no sense….. His decision to cash out makes perfect sense if you are following the Euro markets, monetary values, their own housing woes and economy/rising unemployment.

Kansas citizens have been warned their June bills will greatly jump to greatly “encourage” people to go without power or to greatly conserve useage. The greater problem: First week of June for Kansas is already breaking into the 95’s to 105 degree F heat wtihout heat index adjustment so a lot of people are told to prepare for the heat by storing water.

To compound the issue, Wichita water treatment leadership is dictating a price hike in water usage and transportation due to what they claim, “shortage of water” (which was debunked by various local groups but ignored by the media.) The Wichita Water Treatment group vastly overspent “Funds” that they never had to start with and the loans they owe up now for recent aggressive expansions are due which is the true reason Wichitans are expected to pay more.

To pile ontop of this, natural gas providers in the Wichita area are pushing a pure communist ideal of mandated “income collection” on all people in the city and surrounding districts even if they do not consume natural gas for heating/energy or none at all monthly. The people behind this idea are aware of a vast drop in consumption of Natural Gas by Wichitans due to the recent calm weathers and smater winterization steps people are taking to their homes which means a smaller budget for the energy business localy and they can’t have that.

The economy is very frail in Wichita, and the rest of Kansas as is with the previously listed price hike issues and facing 5 gallon gas here will be murder to all sorts of business as Wichitans have to rely on motor transport to cross the city due to total lack of rail systems and a shitty (pardon my tounge but it is very true) bus service that wouldn’t be able to handle strict time tables what remaining industries here dictate on employee attendance.

I love living in Kansas, it is mostly peaceful but I grow tired of these village idiots being in charge.

It looks like the last casing run was the the culprit. It’s not the steel persay it’s the connections.

Who gave the go ahead on 6500 psi when it should of held at 10000 psi. Casing holds the pressure not the cement. Go figure. You find your leaks and patch em. Too much money, to patch i guess. Yes i’m guessing from my computer and from my knowledgable officemates.

That hole imploded before it exploded.

Also, the EPA has taken over the permitting process for Texas oil refineries. If they are not allowed to operate until they have met EPA demands, we are looking at some serious hurt.

Cloward Piven writ large.
