An outstanding Flag Day rally was held on the steps of the Chester County Courthouse today. About 150 patriots gathered to celebrate the Flag and nation it represents. Thank You Sheepdogs for making this day happen!
Special thanks to Rep Curt Schroder, Carolyn “Bunny” Welsh, Chris Hill and West Chester’s Mayor – Dick Yoder for taking time out of their hectic schedule to participate in this event. Videos of their speeches are posted below the fold. I’ve posted a few photos from the event for you to peruse. The complete set of photos can be found on FLICKR
UPDATE: The DLN published a great article on the Sheepdog’s Flag Day celebration. I congratulate Dan Kristie on confirming what many Sheepdogs had speculated – the CCPM is simply a political front, with no real interest in peace or supporting our troops:
Peace Movement leader Karen Porter said that, now that Barack Obama is president, many of the Peace Movement demonstrators feel they have accomplished their goal. “A lot of us have chosen to step back and let Obama do what he has to do,” Porter said.

The massive display of Old Glory was absolutely inspiring!
The current Mayor of West Chester took time to pose for a photo with a former Mayor of West Chester.

The Sheepdog Flag Day Rally:
What a GREAT TURNOUT!
I’m glad to see patriotism hasn’t gone out of style.
And I’ll bet not ONE of the attendees thought they had to apologize for America.
Great going Sheepdogs!
It was a success – as the moonbats had only 8 people show up for their ‘vigil’. One of our regulars, a WW2 disabled veteran, made a great observation – he noted that the peacniks has more flags than people on their side of the street.
Interesting to note, they used unadulterated flags this year – last year was quite different:
Are they now proud of the American flag???
Still they could not help themselves – as an American flag found its way into a garbage can:
Happy Flag Day! Today at Yankee Stadium, Special Ops Paratroopers dropped in on the ball field before the game – it was amazing! I caught a lot of it on my camera phone:

@Skye: The peaceniks had EIGHT people? They must be getting depressed. They elected Obama and he’s leaving the troops in Iraq and still air raiding villages in Pakistan!
Then the peaceniks look across the street and what do they see? A happy multitude of patriotic Americans!
It must drive them nuts!
Good!
Thanks Mike! I wish I’d gotten the first one coming in, carrying the POW/MIA flag while “Proud to be an American” by Lee Greenwood played throughout the stadium sound system. It was Yankees vs. Mets – totally New York crowd – everyone cheering wildly! Then a famous country singer (don’t really know who he was) sang the National Anthem beautifully! AND the sun came out for the first time in the better part of the week. It was a good Flag Day! I’m just wondering how they’ll top this on Independence Day!
And the Yankees won!
Howdy Skye. Flag Day matters but it was also the Birthday for the Us Army. I am a very proud Alumnus of that School for Wayward Boys. 234 years for the Army. I spent 28 years of my Adult Life with that bunch. Never picked up too many social skills but served with a few Heroes.
“We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.”
A George Orwell quote that applies. Patriotism in Obama’s America exists but is getting hard to find back East. “Illegitimi non carborundum” It always worked fine for me.
My humble thanks to the Sheepdogs and Respect for those that stand up with the Colors and gather up to re-affirm Who We are and Where We came from. Patriots, not Slaves and not willing to be kept on Our Knees, but Free People, Forever!
Salutes to All!
Where are the photos of the “other side”?
Sounds like fun. This kind of activity just celebrate the patriotism of one’s country. Well beside that it’s always good to have some fun. Nice photos by the way.
