“We uphold our fundamental principles and values not just because we choose to, but because we swear to — not because they feel good, but because they help keep us safe.”

OK, I share few principles or values with the Pretender. He is clearly way over his head in dealing with Foreign Policy issues. The Norks just punked him, thumbed their noses at the UN and are up to their old tricks of intimidating Japan & South Korea.

From the A.P.
“In Washington, State Department spokesman Andy Laine said: “At this point, we’ve seen the reports and we’re trying to get more information, but we’re not able to confirm at this time.” An official said the U.S. was gravely concerned by the claim and was analyzing the data.”

“Russian authorities were analyzing data to determine the force of the blast, ITAR-Tass said. Russia, which shares a short border with North Korea, confirmed its facilities detected a nuclear test in northeastern North Korea, the ITAR-Tass news agency said, citing an unnamed Russian Defense Ministry official.”
***************************************************
Lets knock off the BS. The Russians and the US have SAT Intel capabilities to know if there was a Nuke Test. Lets file that under Radiation Detection and Heat Signature. There would be Both if it was a Nuke. The Chinese would have seismic and rad detection capabilities as well. So the Cat is out of the Bag. North Korea is not seismically active so it was not an earthquake.

“North Korea is believed to have at least a half-dozen atomic bombs. However, experts say North Korean scientists have not yet mastered the miniaturization technology for mounting a nuclear device onto a long-range missile. ” (Yet but these devices will be for sale to the highest bidder because the Norks are strapped for cash and are not known for “Values & Principles”)

Do I feel safer with Spanky & Our Gang on watch. Quite frankly, NO. Deterrence from a position of perceived weakness is not bloody likely. It is naive and not prudent to buy into that notion. Trusting Foreign Intel sources is a recipe for disaster as was Pelosi’s attempt to bash the CIA and diminish their creds. Cuttting the Defense budget was a stroke of “genius”, Right?

Sending tensely worded condemnations from the UN always works, doesn’t it?
Obama wants to play T-Ball while the Norks always play hardball when they sense opportunity or weakness. I think they have Team Obama pegged. Diplomacy only works from a position of strength and dealing with “honest brokers”. We don’t seem to have either to work with.

Just my take on it.

It is clear that N.Korea And other rogue nations of their ilk now know America has a “soft” president” We are now seen as a weak, ineffectual vacillating dinosaur that does not have to be taken seriously at all. Welcome to the world of a “do nothing ” U.S.A.This is just the beginning. Now the next in line to get out of hand is Iran/Hezbollah-Hamas. Their suitcase nukes are on order from North Korea as well as their nuclear tipped missiles and It is now known that America will run away from confrontation at every turn, more concerned with Khaled Sheikh Muhammad’s water-boarding that with Dire national security threats. In the minds of these despots “softness” is known as weakness and this weakness is the white flag of cut and run defeatism and apologia that our current administration proffers as our “new national security policy’ The clock is running and we are short of time….

Jehadists don’t have to have a high tech nuclear weapon a missile stuffed with nuclear waste would be just as effective…think the post 9/11 teaspoonful of Anthrax attack only bigger.

And as for that :
“We uphold our fundamental principles and values not just because we choose to, but because we swear to — not because they feel good, but because they help keep us safe.”

@philly_nj: Thanks for that reminder.

Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker, left, 25, of Madras, Ore., and Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, of Houston were apparently kidnapped following an attack by Iraqi insurgents outside the town of Yusufiyah, south of Baghdad.

Their bodies were mutilated and we later learned that their genitals had been cut off while the men were still alive and shoved down their throats so they choked on their own blood.

No word on whether the killers, Iranian backed nuts, were upset with our waterboarding of JUST THREE TERRORISTS.

Apparently MSNBC didn’t carry Hussein’s speech in Pyonyang!

The Religion of Peace, Hah!

I suppose its time for the bucktoothed chipmunk administration to drop a “values bomb” on the North Koreans. Then they will know we mean business…chipmunk business.

Hussein will punish Israel because he perceives them as weak, but gives nothing but kudos or muted criticism to Iran and NK.

Bibi, when you stand up for Israel by holding on to Jerusalem, you stand up for liberty and western values. Hussein can be defeated but we must be strong!
