You are in Dallas, TX.

The Egyptian Exhibit is going on, right now.

The Famous Site is where JFK was assassinated. I believe the building in the background is the old book depository.

Chipset… pretty good but no prize unless you can identify the site in the top photo!

Hang, Mike… just glad you’re *anywhere*! LOL I was asking Curt about you being AWOL… he noticed you hadn’t updated Mike’sA site either.

Where ever you are, glad you’re safe and having some fun!

@MataHarley: I know I took a bit of a risk by leaving without putting you on alert for moonbat patrol but it looks like you handled it just fine.

When I saw the Egyptian statue I thought maybe Mike had stepped through the Stargate, but that school bus in the background said otherwise.

I have NO idea about the top pic and I live here…

Man, I’ve been Google street viewing all over Dallas, but I can’t find the location of the first picture.

Oh come on Fred… think about the clue…

I’m going on out another recon to take a related photo, maybe that will help.

Site of GWB library?

That is the new site for the Bush Presidential Library.

The first photo is next to SMU. The property has been under dispute, but I think I read in the paper yesterday that it is now settled.

BP and Chipset win the prize!

That is the site for the GWB Library.

Definitely Dallas and probably the site of GWB’s Presidential Center — I’m officially jealous!

Hubby and I drove through Dallas enroute to Midland for President Bush’s WELCOME HOME CELEBRATION; unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to visit the SMU campus or any other points of interest, but definitely plan to do so within the next 6 months.

There is a prize? Bragging rights?

I’m definitely jealous…o.k., but I’m happy for you, Mike, that you got to visit. Hope you had a blast!! 😉

GWB Library…what are they going to put in it?

sorry could not resist :0

@Time Traveller:

If you are really so curious about what could go into the GWB Library, I suggest that you visit the Flopping Aces archives and peruse the stellar Bush Thank-a-thon threads our hosts created.

Whatever goes in there will give our citizens a clearer understanding and appreciation of what President Bush did for this country.

As a native Dallasite who loves her home, I can confirm the pics:

1) This recently razed terrain is located on the east side of Dallas’ beautiful and stately SMU campus. It is the future home of the George W. Bush library, museum and independent institute. We in Dallas are honored to call Mr. and Mrs. Bush “neighbor.”

2) Dallas Museum of Art is playing host to “Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs” through June.

3) Photograph 3 is The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza; the original Texas School Book Depository where Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated President Kennedy in November 1963. Peering out the 6th-floor window next to Oswald’s alleged perch enables viewers to envision that long-ago motorcade. One can also determine — through the mind’s eye — why Oswald waited to shoot the president until after the motorcade rounded the corner toward Elm Street (the vantage point enabled the assassin a direct line-of-sight shot.)

4) Dallas’ Reunion Tower, the new home of Wolfgang Puck’s Five Sixty restaurant that debuts in February. At night, the rotating globe that tops the building brightens the Dallas skyline with hundreds of dancing, flashing lights.
