A former fetus, the “wordsmith from nantucket” was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1968. Adopted at birth, wordsmith grew up a military brat. He achieved his B.A. in English from the University of California, Los Angeles (graduating in the top 97% of his class), where he also competed rings for the UCLA mens gymnastics team. The events of 9/11 woke him from his political slumber and malaise. Currently a personal trainer and gymnastics coach.
The wordsmith has never been to Nantucket.

I only saw the first “funny” (about Sheriff Obama closing the jail in the town of Gitmo). I didn’t realize that about 20 other cartoons followed.
We’d been arguing the Gitmo closing on another thread.
I’m sad about all the editorial cartoonists who have lost their jobs, with the ongoing collapse of the newspaper industry. We lost a good one (Mike Shelton, Orange County Register) when our local paper cut his position and just started going with syndicated cartoonists. This deprives us of Shelton’s wonderful cartoons on local issues (Shelton being a conservative, who frequently raised my blood pressure, as all good cartoonists should do).
