“I’m hoping that this time they do the job and are not pressured to pull back early by the same world governments that seemed indifferent to the rocket attacks Israel has endured for years.” (Mike’s America)

I am with you Mike , I sure do hope that they will not do the same error that they did with the 2006 Lebanon war. I remember every words that Michael Béhé wrote during this war:

THE TRUTH IN LEBANON
By: Michael Behe, lebanon journalism living in Beirut
August 2006

Excerpts:

“… Without the Israelis, how could we have received another chance — that we in no way deserve! — to rebuild our country?

Each Irano-Syrian fort that Jerusalem destroys, each Islamic fighter they eliminate, and Lebanon proportionally starts to live again! Once again, the soldiers of Israel are doing our work. Once again, like in 1982, we are watching — cowardly, lying low, despicable, and insulting them to boot — their heroic sacrifice that allows us to keep hoping. . . .

As for the destruction caused by the Israelis . . . that is another imposture. All those who speak of the “destruction of Beirut” are either liars, Iranians, anti-Semites or absent. Even the houses situated one alley’s distance from the targets I mentioned have not been hit, they have not even suffered a scratch; on contemplating these results of this work you understand the meaning of the concept “surgical strikes” and you can admire the dexterity of the Jewish pilots.

Beirut, all the rest of Beirut, 95 percent of Beirut, lives and breathes better than a fortnight ago. All those who have not sided with terrorism know they have strictly nothing to fear from the Israeli planes, on the contrary! One example: Last night the restaurant where I went to eat was jammed full and I had to wait until 9:30 p.m. to get a table. Everyone was smiling, relaxed, but no one filmed them: a strange destruction of Beirut, is it not? . . .

Like the overwhelming majority of Lebanese, I pray that no one puts an end to the Israeli attack before it finishes shattering the terrorists.”

A bunch of us went out for lunch after our rally at Ft. Monmouth today and one of the first things we saw was that the ground war had commenced. I pray for the Israeli soldiers as hard as I do for our own – this is a difficult bloody fight and an enemy that values death over life is almost impossible to fathom. But Israel is doing what it must and we need to stand behind them every step of the way until Hamas is no more.

Using “readthis” and his “Lawrence of Cyberia” link as an example, Georgia would never have regained it’s independence from Russia… nor would the Ukraine, Estonia, Armenia, etal be allowed to break away from being a USSR satellite nation.

Hang, the US would never have been created, as the colonists were surely a minority population to the native Americans across the continent.

Again, with your notions, the League of Nations never would have been permitted to break up the Ottoman Empire with the Treaty of Sèvres. In fact, Palestine should still be under control of the British, right “readthis”? Then again, Egypt had control for awhile too. Perhaps it should go back to them, since there is no official Palestinian state at this time. The Oslo Accord was to set them on that path… until Hamas started muddying the waters. Since it is not a completed agreement, security and occupation is shared.

Sorry… no moral high road revealed with your input, readthis. Fact is countries, borders and boundaries morph with epochs, civil war and border wars. Been that way since the beginning, and will be that way to the end.

Read this,

OMG! What a stupid article you have linked here. This guy do not understand a single thing about this conflict. I beleive that if you linked it, it is because you agree with the author. O boy! Your case is hopeless and I do not have the patience to make you understand the reality.
Someone else wants to try?

I too hope Israel destroys Hamas. They want Israel’s destruction and have stated such in their charter. The support Hamas is getting from the left is repulsive. Hopefully Israel will not bow to it and complete their destruction of Hamas.

Good luck to Israel. May they achieve total victory and may every member of Hamas suffer horribly.

I’m hoping that this time they do the job and are not pressured to pull back early by the same world governments that seemed indifferent to the rocket attacks Israel has endured for years.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – screw world opinion. With the exception of America (at least with Bush at the controls), every other nation is either anti-semitic, pro-terrorist or full of gutless cowards. (In the case of European nations in general, it’s all three.)

Israel is doing what is right and what is required. Anyone that says otherwise… well, see above.

Hamas and company could end this in an instant if they wanted to; stop firing rockets into Israel, dispatching suicide bombers and the like. It’s that simple.
But, the fact of the matter is, Iran is playing weapons dealer here, and Hamas seeks the destruction of Israel, and to murder the Jewish people. So, they’re not about to lay down their arms and pursue true “Mideast Peace” as it were.
Instead, expect the normal terrorist playing victims of “Israeli brutality” or whatever; turning the issue on its head. The fact that the world media, and many governments across the world (thankfully not ours yet) swallow this is a testament to the human capacity for idiocy. The Israelis make every effort to employ “smart” munitions, and the RoE’s that their ground forces operate under when they go on house-to-house clearing operations are some of the most restrictive I’ve ever seen. So, I pray for the safety of the brave Israeli soldiers, and that maybe if the world takes a hands-off approach, they can achieve a total victory over the terrorists in Gaza.

@USMCdaughter1:

In many Synagogues it is traditional to pray for America and her military as part of the daily service.

During WW11 the Lubavitcher Rebbe (before he was Rebbe) worked at the Brooklyn Navy Ship Yard
http://www.chabad.org/therebbe/article_cdo/aid/141185/jewish/Wiring-the-Missouri.htm
as an engineer for the war effort.

As Rebbe he gave America a blessing that we should succeed in Iraq
http://www.meaningfullife.com/currentevents/gulfwar/The_Kabbalah_of_Basra.php
and with all the Leftist opposition, Bush certainly needed it!

He was the one who sent emissaries all over the world to assist Jews wherever they were. Among those most recently in the news were, unfortunately, Gavriel and Rivka Hotzberg, who were tortured and murdered along with hundreds of innocent Indians by Islamic savages hateful not only of Jews, but any civilized humans anywhere.

The Islamic killers are evil, and MUST be stopped!

What is the difference between Israel and Gaza?

In Israel, civilians hide in bunkers.
In Gaza, terrorists hide in bunkers.
