No, we are not counting on Alex, or any of Alex’s liberal friends to preserve freedom or defend the United States.

It’s become quite apparent that liberal bloodsucking parasites on the hard won freedom bought and paid for with the blood and sacrifice of others has no meaning for the rich, elitist lefties who are clearly beneficiaries of that freedom.

Our Armed Forces are thankfully composed of men and women who VOLUNTEER to serve their country. While libs are free to go about your daily lives. I am reminded of that graffiti in the Marine barracks in Iraq: “America is not at war. The Marine Corps is at war; America is at the mall. ”

What a selfish attitude these Moveon types have. They enjoy the same liberty and yet demean the sacrifice necessary to preserve it.

Does freedom mean so little to these people?

Curiously, the comments have been disabled for that video over at You Tube…that should tell any thinking person all they need to know about the agenda of MoveOn folks. I just hope someday that they will, in fact, “move on” down the road and put themselves out of their misery.

Interesting. You clearly have a well-developed contempt for parasitical elitists; you tell ’em, my man. Now let’s look at your situation.

Have you paid for your freedom with blood and sacrifice? What branch of the military were you in, and when did you serve?

Weren’t you a political parasite during your time at the E.P.A. and fetching bagels for the boys in the Reagan political office? The Right used to call that kind of thing “feeding at the public trough.”

Graduate studies at Columbia University? Spending your time writing, gardening and photographing in Hilton Head? It all sounds pretty darned elitist to me, Mike.

Yet you still benefit from the freedom that was purchased for you with the blood and sacrifice of others.

Mr. Pot, there’s a call for you from Mr. Kettle. Mr. Pot to the white courtesy telephone, please.

I think the impact from the ad. comes from one’s age; it certainly doesn’t have to come from just motherhood.

In a course I teach two females saw the ad. and both said they were voting against McCain because of it; both said they were not mothers either.

Say what you will about it’s substance, but its deliverable intensity reminds me of a good “pro-life” ad; it grabs you by the heart’s throat, then shoves Motherhood down it with a guilt twist!

Whether any of these young ladies ever talk about politics with their girl friends …and even will vote, is a idle speculation that rivals whether the chicken or the egg came first. However, the ad is certainly impressionable.

The first time I saw it, it reminded me of the Daisy Ad.

Did someone reinstate the draft and I didn’t hear about it?????

Since the military is all volunteer,, I know I did 11 years in the Air Force…

The whole stupid commercial has no basis in fact…

Stupid dope smoking lying hippies…

A video response to the MoveOn ad.

Here is the link.

This is so contrived an effort. I would have thought with all their money Moveon could do better than this boring crap.

The reason the Marines feel the Marine Corps is at war and America is not is because our President keeps telling us to go shopping.

My sentiments exactly!! bigpapa, maybe it is a slip up on the part of the left… their agenda to restart the draft got out of the bag again.

Contrast the parody ad Wordsmith posted to the Moveon ad:

If Obama is President and gets Congress to pass all the new taxes he has proposed, he can send armed men to your home to take your property at the point of a gun to pay the taxes.

If McCain is President and needs American troops to fight in Iraq, he has to count on volunteers.

Obama would use law and the threat of force to compel compliance with his orders. McCain can only ask for volunteers.

seems rather stupid to me. he never said he would be shipping boatloads of our soldier there for a hundred years. he said he would be there helping them for a hundred years if the iraqis needed us. do you really think we will be there for a hundred years? umm, nope, i don’t. while i would hate to think of losing my son in combat, he is only a boy, if he chose to serve his country like every other male in my family i would be proud of his choice. bravery and honor are never cheap, they have a high price, which could be a life. move ons add is pure crap, i too hope they move on.

Thanks So Cal Chris…
It just seems simple logic and common sense have left the building…
The sad part is so many idiotic lefties eat the Sh#% up…
Sad,, very sad..

It’s all about the feminization of society, as Dennis Prager likes to say…the left have been in charge of our schools, workplaces, and media…what has it brought us? Nothing but feelings-based rubbish…look at the silly ‘rebuttal’ above by DW 5000; it’s all feelings, nothing at all to do with substance or facts.

DW, what did you do to fight crime? Put out any house fires lately? There are plenty of dangerous jobs out there that none of us will ever have to do, but that doesn’t mean we can’t speak of the importance of them…this argument, “duh, did you fight in Iraq yet?,” is so foolish that it belies the leftism that triggers it.

When you go to the YouTube video, do you see in the side where it has the embed code? Just cut and paste that here. It should show up.

Well doug…
I’m going to have to go with Kristol…
Good ole Andy there… completely missed the boat…
Little Alex does not have to serve… plain and simple…
I have friends that just go back from Iraq and speak highly of the Iraqi people…

Ultimately we have done a great thing… and it will prove to be in the best interest of the United States and honor those who gave all..

If the blonde in the original video is so concerned about her kiddie, then shouldn’t she have a video telling Barack that he can’t have little Alex for a little hiking field trip into the mountains of Pakistan?

Wish I had a decent video camera. MAN! I’d have one with my 6yr old daughter arguing with me/refusing to pickup her toys in the backyard. Then I’d ask Barack if he thinks that…well, maybe if I made her sit down and talked to her in a more charismatic and civil way THEN she’d pickup her toys. Or maybe if I offered her oreos and milk with ice cream sprinkles THEN she’d do it. Or OR OR (!) maybe if I just offered to give her more toys THEN she’d pickup the ones in the backyard? Guarantee it still wouldn’t happen. That kid’s got diplomatic rhetoric skills that make John Bolton look like a pussy cat. More often than not…it doesn’t take a village-it takes a threat.
“Katy, if you don’t put away your bike, your scooter, your chalk, the bubble machine, and all those balls, then I’m gonna throw them away.”
Oddly enough, that seems to work. Yeah, there’s the obligatory whining, crying, and general throwing of a fit, but it still works when bribes fail.

Might be time to get a video camera and ask Barack if he wants to send my son to Pakistan, or send him back into Iraq if it collapses because of a premature evacuation on MoveOn.org’s orders, or what he’ll do if talking, bribing, appeasing, Iran fails.

Interesting. Ya know, Pres Bush only invaded Afghanistan and Iraq in 8yrs. Could Barack actually turn out to be more of a warmonger by re-invading Iraq, invading Pakistan, and going to war with Iran? Food for thought (time for more coffee 😀 )

Oopsies! Richard, you’re looking at the wrong page of the Wingnut Talking Points Memo. The response you gave was the one that was supposed to follow my saying, “If you like the war so much, why aren’t you in Iraq right now?” A cursory examination of my post will reveal that I did not write that. If you’re going to froth at the mouth, at least make sense at it.

Mike lashed out at elitist non-serving parasites; I simply pointed out that he, himself, is an elitist non-serving parasite. He is, in fact, the worst kind of elitist non-serving parasite: a self-loathing elitist non-serving parasite.

I didn’t lash out at cops or firemen or people who chose not to become cops or firemen. Your post is asinine. Get it right next time.

Bigpapa,

I think both made some good points. Andy doesn’t even bring up Kristol’s argument of our all-volunteer military, nor does he mention Alex will only be 9 by the time when McCain leaves office.

Andy’s right about there being on contempt for the military found in the ad; certainly there is contempt found for McCain.

In the end, the ad. is an artful dodge, a deceptive deployment— just what you want in this political climate!

I’m somewhat surprised regarding all the media hubbub over little ‘Alex’. It’s pretty early in the year for this ad to really inflict any long-term damage, more women are already strongly opposed to the war in Iraq (especially young ones), practically speaking Iraq is a non sequitur for many lives in the US ( as the MSM barely covers it), and the ads’ target group are unlikely to even vote.

I’ll be interested if the state polls show any change in these swing states.

God I hope there’s a Red State vid like this. Jackie could talk about how he doesn’t wanna invade Pakistan or Iran, and so forth. I’d LMAO!!

Or maybe if I offered her oreos and milk with ice cream sprinkles THEN she’d do it.

Actually this can work, the problem is that it leads to further demands for oreos and milk, and then deliberate bad behavior to get even more oreo and milk offers…

“I didn’t lash out at cops or firemen or people who chose not to become cops or firemen. Your post is asinine. Get it right next time.”

Notice how no one else responded to your rubbish? Part of the reason has to do with your dishonest way of responding to other commenter’s arguments…you just dismiss people, call them names, and then hope you’ve won the argument.

You’re just a miserable troll, you hate without warrant and you want everyone else to be as miserable as you. No way…there is far to much to celebrate in this great country, and our military enjoy nearly unanimous approval ratings, next to the abysmal ratings that your Dems enjoy in congress.

Doug,

I see your point but what gets me riled up about it I suppose is that…. well it’s dishonest and a forerunner of what I know will be so many just like it.

These people constantly lie and try to mislead the public, so many which will not think about it and buy into it.

What needs to come out next week is a video of a Marine in full dress uniform:

“Hi… I’m Alex. My mom tried to indoctrinate me with her liberal pap, but as you can see, I somehow learned the concepts of honor and duty. I consider myself blessed to be able to serve the greatest country on earth. God bless America”.

(Fade to flag waving in the background)

Not this woman

Ania Egland responds to ad attacking Sen. McCain

Dennis Prager has produced a parody on this…
The mother says all the adorable things about loving her son..and then says “And, Mr, McCain, if this war is still waging when my son’s an adult, I’m hoping I’ve raised him well enough that HE will make the decision about whether he will go to war; I am raising a MAN who will know what to do at that time, not rely on his mother ..”

Terrific! And, really, that 100 year remark has been so ridiculously mischaracterized!! I like Commenter Tony’s suggestion, too. Z

I can’t get over a Spartan King with a Scottish accent!
