The sister of indicted Democratic Rep. William Jefferson pleaded guilty to concealing a crime on Wednesday, the fourth relative of the Louisiana lawmaker to become entangled in the family’s legal troubles.
Brenda Jefferson, 52, helped defraud several nonprofit organizations by concealing and failing to report the activities of two of her siblings, Betty Jefferson and Mose Jefferson, and her niece, Angela Coleman, according to court documents.
Federal prosecutors in New Orleans recently charged the three other relatives with conspiring to steal more than $600,000 from organizations they set up to help at-risk and disadvantaged youth.
Brenda Jefferson, also known as Brenda Foster, performed clerical work for the nonprofits run by her relatives.
According to prosecutors, she has admitted to receiving $90,000 in payments from the organizations.
Lets remember Freezer Jefferson has a D next to his name so don’t wait for this to be broadcast nationwide on all the nightly news shows. It won’t happen.

Ah, wonderful New Orleans. Let’s do everything we can to rehabilitate this city. Let’s spend billions of tax dollars to rejuvenate this area. Mainly so they can contribut $30,000.00 to the democratic convention. Never mind the fact that the same thing that happened during Katrina will happen during the next hurricane that approaches. This place is a cesspool. Full of slimy characters. The Jefferson family is just the tip of the iceberg. It is amazing that he has stayed free all this time and steill in congress yet. They must really have the goods on Brenda to get her to confess. Maybe this is the first domino to fall. Hopefully anyway.
I am really starting to believe New Orleans might be more corrupt than Chicago. it is hard to believe but it is looking that way with the “Chocolate City”.
this is why so many people are so hard pressed to donate money to nion-profits. there are good ones, but then there only has to be one person to muck it all up. what makes a person think that they are more entitled to that money than thise it was donated for? makes me sick. its like those kids that come door to door selling magazine subscriptions, they are supposedly trying yo make money for college, i have ordered twice and never gotten my subscriptions. looks like the jefferson family has a whole mess of explaining to do.

Believe it. Chicago is corrupt but New Orleans is a breeding ground of slugs. Take a look at pictures of the Mardi Gras and realize this city has no morals or integrity. Any place where the dems have control there is graft and corruption and crime.
