This should have been done long ago when Reagan wanted it.

Another monument to governmental waste. The Ronald Reagan Star Wars System.
Conservatives were high-fiving themselves when they were able to shoot down a satellite with more than a year’s planning and knowing its entire trajectory.
Now America is truly safe from terrorists who give us a year’s advance notice of their intent to send a missle after us.
The US has been hit three times by terrorist Bombs. Twice they were delivered by truck (Oklahoma City and the first World Trade Center attack), the Third time by hijacking airliners. In none of those circumstances would Star Wars have made even the slightest difference.
But Saint Ronald Reagan loved it, and therefore Conservatives must love it as well. Just the rest of us have to pay for it.

Answer to Phili Steve. We have 3 different systems- Go to patdollard.com and see one that is a laser mounted on a special boeing. Then the land based- then the sea based. The satellite taken down was taken down by some older missle that would have been outdated soon. So this wasn’t even our newest toy. The last sentence was a statement that Homer Hickum had mentioned on an interview. You know, the guy who worked for NASA. Spelled his name wrong, i think.
Anyway no system will be perfect but could deter enemy countries from making the bomb if they can be shot down. This system is also only a backup. Lt. General Mcinerney has said that we have tech we have been working on since the 1980s that can shut down an balistic launch, a system , space deployed, xxxbhb-bacar-1318-I390MSch. The system can neutralize and render obsolete any enemy capabilities before they even launch. We have many redundant systems to protect the US.

This missile shield will save our butts , but history will have to prove who is right. My bet is on President Reagan.
