Nickelodeon with a Left-Wing Cause

Listening to Michael Medved yesterday, he brought to my attention two programs. I believe one of them aired last night, on HBO. I don’t get HBO, so would not have been able to catch it, even if I were at home. But based upon Medved’s program, the documentary, “To Die In Jerusalem: Two Daughters Lost in Conflict”, sounds like the ultimate in moral equivalency.

Like the infamous Newsweek cover that inspired it, this documentary treats both girls — Palestinian Ayat al-Akhras and Israeli Rachel Levy — as victims of “faith or fate that brought each of them to the end of her life in such a tragic manner.” Appallingly, the filmmakers blur the distinction between murderer and victim, evil and innocence. The Israeli girl went to the market to buy Sabbath supplies; the Palestinian girl went there to murder strangers in a homicide bombing.

He also played soundclips of the director, who is a far-left Israeli, describing her film.

The other story in the same hour, is on Nickelodeon’s program, “Rebel with a Cause”. Here is one blog’s description of it:

New Show Will Air on Nickelodeon to Showcase Kids Who Stand for Causes: From Human Rights to Animal Rights, Shows Kids Who Stand for a Cause

Excellent. It’s about time. As you’ll read below, the show Rebels With A Cause!, will air Sunday, January 28 at 8:30 p.m. ET/ PT on Nickelodeon. I think it’s great to not only give kids a voice, but to show that many kids aren’t just bump on the logs, video game watching say nothings. These kids have wide ranging views but each has dedicated energy to creating a better world.

Sounds great doesn’t it? My problem then? The show is nothing more than left-wing ideological indoctrination. The blog links to a PR Newswire describing it:

Rebels With a Cause features:

* Fiona and Hanna live in Brattleboro, Vermont. The girls oppose the
exploitation of children in sweatshops. As one of them puts it, “Kids
younger than I am shouldn’t be making my clothes.” They decided to do
something about it, beginning with taking on their local school board
over where it buys school uniforms. This was their first taste of going
up against those in power in order to try to change the world around
them.

* Micah is 14. He lives in California, and although he isn’t old enough to
vote, he’s old enough to know his rights as an American, one of which is
to speak his mind. Micah believes the torture of people who are
suspected of terrorist connections is a crime in itself, and that his
government is wrong to participate in such practices. And he isn’t
afraid to say so. Out loud-and in public. Micah has taken to the streets
wearing orange prison clothes and carrying a bullhorn. What Micah’s
doing isn’t making him popular, he still thinks it’s the right thing to
do.

* Amina and Athena have taken on the state of Washington over the issue of
standardized testing, especially the new test the state says a student
must pass to graduate high school. The test, according to the girls,
isn’t fair to minorities, and what’s more, they say, it leads to
teachers teaching the test instead of the subject. They mean to change
the state law. And they just might.

Okay, cool. Kids, who have never paid taxes or owned their own home and worked for a living, are involved in political activism. But waitaminute….where are the pro-life activists? Where are the pro-victory, pro-military Republican kids?

Watch here.

It is shameless propagandizing of left-wing causes. I especially found the segment with Micah disgusting. Watch it. Am I supposed to consider him an authoritarian who can articulate the issue? On being knowledgeable enough to “educate” millions of children around the country, tuning in to this kay-rap? He can’t even distinguish mall security from actual police officers. What passes as”free-thinking conscientious youth” who can “rock the boat” are nothing more than brainwashed, indoctrinated mouthpiece shills for left-wing idiocy. Not critical-thinking.

Of course, Micah’s opinion is buttressed by another anti-war segment; this one given by Eva who stands against the Iraq War.

The World Can’t Wait-Drive Out the Bush Regime was founded by the RCP (Revolutionary Communist Party), and is nothing more than a front for them:

bloggers began pointing out the connection, and it was even noted on Wikipedia that “The World Can’t Wait” (WCW) was founded by the RCP. After the RCP started promoting WCW on its own Web site, the cat was out of the bag; even the San Francisco Chronicle (perhaps stung by criticisms of their failure to fully divulge the nature of earlier anti-war protests) had no choice but to join the chorus of outlets acknowledging that WCW was nothing more than a front for the RCP.

Indoctrination doesn’t begin at the university. It indeed does begin in the home. From parents is one thing….from tv sets? Quite another.

Keep in mind:

Nickelodeon, in its 27th year, is the number-one entertainment brand for kids. It has built a diverse, global business by putting kids first in everything it does. The company includes television programming and production in the United States and around the world, plus consumer products, online, recreation, books, magazines and feature films. Nickelodeon’s U.S. television network is seen in almost 92 million households and has been the number-one- rated basic cable network for more than eleven consecutive years.

Damn, I had no idea the RCP was still around. My brother ran into them at Boston University back in the 1980s and based on his description it sounded like a fading bunch of freakish radicals. Unfortunately the ‘fading’ part turns out to have been false.

For the life of me I can’t get the video to play on the Nickelodeon page.

bbartlog,

The RCP is just ONE of the many groups thought gone which are back in full force, have deep pocketbooks, ominous interconnections with other groups (including terror groups), and hate-filled, violence laced methods and goals.

The Thunder Run has linked to this post in the – Web Reconnaissance for 11/02/2007 A short recon of what’s out there that might draw your attention, updated throughout the day…so check back often.

COMMUNISTS !!! COMMUNISTS !!
I see Communists everywhere.
Look the RCP is a tiny tiny fringe group. They are really not important, they are in fact humorus. They are Maoist some even still wear the little Mao caps

If they’re having a half-million dollar fund drive and getting their propaganda broadcast on Nickelodeon, they’re not yet tiny and fringy enough for my taste. But on investigation I see that they’ve become more a cult of personality to support Bob Avakian than an independent political movement, which is reassuring in a way. It means their continued existence doesn’t tell us anything about the actual popularity of Maoism, it just provides a testament to the perennial popularity of cult leaders of all sorts.

It is not humorous when it is broadcast to children and it is not humorous when one understands that this in one group under an umbrella of others.

“John Ryan”

LOL!

“there are no such thing as communists…except for the communists you identified there..”

you realize that you’re the one who looks silly when you say that sort of thing, right?.

Youth is wasted on the young.

The communists have to be exposed whenever they are found. They have to hide their backward ideas behind front groups because in the past their ideals have been exposed by the enlightened to be morally and intellectually bankrupt.

It appears they are trying to reintroduce themselves to our children through environmental causes and political correctness. I liken communism to something similar to the recent experiences of the California wildfires; the fuel for the fires was the dead fall and brush left in place because environmentalists used emotional appeal to a liberal judge to keep the Forest Service and home owners from removing the potential and actual danger. This is the same way they proceed with the educational systems when they go to court to keep certain curriculum out of the schools that would enlighten children to the dangers and immorality of communism. Then the purposeful ignition from an intent arsonist starts the fire just as communist political provocateurs contrive a cure for a questionable environmental theory.

The organized extinguishing of the damaging and all consuming flames by dedicated firefighters along with a focused administration with a cooperative properly educated population must be the solution to both wildfires and the reintroduction to communist ideology into our society.
