I loved the debate. All the guys did well (Except Certifiable) they all were quite good.
Even funny, some of this was pure comedy 🙂

I blew off the first few debates, then watched the last two. ‘Course, I’d seen and applauded the Ron Paul smackdown put forth by the crowd’s “nice guy,” Gov Huckabee. After the last debate, I decided to look up his campaign site and see where he was on the issues. The site’s lame, generic, generally lacks any wow or cool factor, but it seemed like he had some positions I agreed with, so I looked him up on YouTube, and I really started to like the guy. Then I saw his speech to the values voters, and I was blown away. I think he did great in the debate. Take the Paulbot spammers out of the who-won-poll, and he was #1, with almost twice as many votes as the next guy and as many as the next three combined.
So, no, I don’t really like the debates, don’t really watch em, but they did help me find the candidate I like the most now…and it ain’t some loony doc who’s off his own meds (or been trying out too many samples). No, I can’t believe it, but I like the pastor. He seems all nice and all, and then when he does make a counterpoint to someone (like Dr nutjob), it’s a pure on smackdown. Oh, and I did really like the part in the debate where the crowd booed the ISOLATIONIST.
As I say in my post, it was the first debate I’ve watched due to doing a semi personal boycott as this horse race started way to early, but now that we are less than 75 days out from first votes it was time to engage. I’m glad I choose this one b/c it was very lively and helped to solidify where I’ve been headed.
And yes i absolutely stand by that commitment and second your challenge big time!

Next debate should eliminate Ron Paul, and John McCain, then we would get down to business.
I have the hardest time commenting on this blog, aaahhh!!
I had a great comment earlier and it wouldn’t post.
Now I can’t remember exactly what I said but basically, great post!! I’m with Jainphx on getting rid of Paul, McCain and add to that Tancredo. Unfortunately, McCain will probably hang in there awhile longer and fool himself into thinking he has a shot. The biggest thing that shocked me about Brownback is that when he got out he acted like he had thought he really had a chance. I knew Day 1 that he didn’t have a prayer.
I am also with you and Cajun on supporting the eventual nominee with the exception of Ron Paul who doesn’t have a prayer either.

I was actually very suprised at the debate as well. One thing I noticed was that, small snarking of the others aside, it was a fairly cordial debate. It’s refreshing to see that when republicans debate, character assasination is at a minimum, and actual debate occurs.
Oh, and I had to wake up pretty early as well here in Nigeria to catch the debate. Good news my home country hasn’t self-destructed while I’ve been away!

Dee,
Typekey is problematic. I use MS Word and write out many of the comments (ok, not this one) and then paste them into the site.
