Time to get a grip for the civil libertarians. If you need FISA, then you must believe that the Federal Government will not adhere to the laws already protecting you that are on the books outside of FISA with regards to citizen data and the INTEL Community. There are already laws with harsh punishments on the Federal Government doing that.
If you think that then FISA makes *zero* difference.
When the Armed Forces need information to track down a lost soldier or any enemy of the US, be it terrorist or foreign national or traitorous citizen in a Theater of War, then American Citizens have no expectation of privacy anyways. That is something called: WAR.

And if the argument is ‘war will be used as an excuse, etc. etc.’ then look above. FISA will make *zero* difference if you believe that.
Nor is this ‘temporary security and less liberty’ this is immediate, actionable security to save American lives in a Theater of War. The loss of liberty is loss of LIFE for a soldier.
I don’t see the need for FISA at the start and anything that does NOT have a blanket exemption for activities during an armed conflict is lethal to US soldiers.
When will the Democratic Party APOLOGIZE for not saving them when American ships were being sunk by those allied to the Ottoman Empire? The time for America to ACT is not in some petty resolution in Congress in 2007, but with a Declaration of War in 1915. When the Democratic Party apologizes deeply and sincerely for that with regards to the Armenians that President Woodrow Wilson(D) knew about from Ambassador Morgenthau. But that might have hurt his chance at re-election, don’t you know? What’s a bit of genocide compared to that?
