Today’s villains: Congressional Democrats

Loading

Shameful is the word that came to mind after reading this report from Newsday. In it, “The Senate on Wednesday approved a resolution urging the State Department to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization, a move aimed at bringing additional economic pressure on Iran.”

On the surface, this is an all-important win for Western Civilization. Despite roadblocks from the Left, Russia, China, and the United Nations; as well as ramblings from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the country DOES see the dangers originating from Persia. The country DOES recognize that Iran IS waging a proxy war against our soldiers, and has been since 1979.

Yet, the Democrats, so foolhardy and shameful in their pandering, refuse to classify an Iranian paramilitary group as a terrorist organization. INSTEAD, they pander to the Left-wing loonies who abhor any military conflict, regardless of the rationale. Furthermore, they refuse to chide the Iranians MERELY due to their hatred of President Bush and all-things RIGHT.

Shameful…

Note some of the rhetoric from the Left:

“Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., was among those voting against the amendment. Dodd referred to the 2002 congressional vote authorizing the use of force that led to President Bush’s decision to invade Iraq: ‘We shouldn’t repeat our mistakes and enable this president again,’ Dodd said in a statement.”

“Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., branded the Lieberman-Kyl measure as Vice President Dick Cheney’s ‘fondest pipe dream.’”

Rather than defend our young men and women serving in Iraq and subsequently hurt by Iranian-made IED’s, they stab the military in the back ONCE AGAIN.

Not only are the Democrats advocating defeat, assuring the terrorists a valuable propaganda victory, they are also guaranteeing regional supremacy on behalf of the Iranians.

Senate approves Lieberman resolution on Iran

By ANDREW MIGA | Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON – The Senate on Wednesday approved a resolution urging the State Department to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization, a move aimed at bringing additional economic pressure on Iran.

The measure passed 76-22.

The proposal by Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., and Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., attracted overwhelming bipartisan support. But a small group of Democrats said they feared that labeling the state-sponsored organization a terrorist group could be interpreted as a congressional authorization of military force in Iran.

Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., was among those voting against the amendment. Dodd referred to the 2002 congressional vote authorizing the use of force that led to President Bush’s decision to invade Iraq.

"We shouldn’t repeat our mistakes and enable this president again," Dodd said in a statement.

Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., branded the Lieberman-Kyl measure as Vice President Dick Cheney’s "fondest pipe dream."

Lieberman and Kyl have said their resolution does not authorize the use of force against Iran. It was instead crafted to cut off financial support for Iran, they said.

"It is vital to the national security interests of the United States that the Iranian government not be allowed to prevail in its proxy war against us in Iraq," Lieberman said in a statement. "This amendment makes it clear both to our enemies and our friends that the United States will not retreat in the face of Iranian terrorism."

The Revolutionary Guard is training, arming, funding and directing extremists inside Iraq who are killing U.S. troops, Lieberman has said.

The Bush administration is considering wide-ranging sanctions against the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds force, which is accused of supporting insurgents in Iraq, by naming it an international terrorist group.

The Senate vote came one day after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad addressed the U.N. General Assembly.

During a tense appearance at Columbia University Monday, Ahmadinejad defended Holocaust revisionists and raised questions about who carried out the Sept. 11 attacks. His visit this week has drawn thousands of protesters.

The Iranian leader has denied the chief accusations against Iran, that it is providing weapons to kill U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, supporting terrorism or breaking international law by developing nuclear weapons.

The democrats epitomize all that is wrong with this country. If these same shameful democrats were around in WW2, they would be clamoring to surrender to the nazi’s because they would be saying that the Normandy invasions were a failure and the war lost because it took several weeks to break out of the area not to mentions the tens of thousands of casualties we suffered.

Now these democrats want to toady up to hitler’s own “Mini Me” Mymood Imonajihad with the hope that if we appease him he’ll play nice.

This war could have been over a long time ago if the democrats were not out there everyday giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

They’re totally destroying the fabric of this country; personally, I’m tired of them ramming their progressive agenda down my throat. If the Democrats get their way, our country will be flooded with illegal immigrants, we’ll have cut and run from Iraq, and we’ll be negotiating with tyrants and despots rather than taking REQUISITE hard-lines with them. Furthermore, everytime I go to a Twins or Vikings game, it will be some sort of “Progressive” day. I could go on and on too about the marginalizing of Christians in this country in favor of “extremist” elements, but you all get my drift, I believe.

Todd you can also add to the list turning your paycheck and your vote over to them in return for getting everything you need: “free” housing, food, medical, ADD, SSD, etc, etc.

In our house we never ever refer to Democrats as “progressive”.

Should be ADC, not ADD. My bad.

it’s all about equality (i.e. socialism)…they wanted to ensure that the “have nots” are “empowered” while emasculating the “have’s.”

Jim Webb ran as a conservative Democrat.

Looks like he lied.
