Just caught on “Hannity and Combs,” some wacko calling himself “Quanell X,” speaking as the official spokesman for the Nation of Islam, said that his followers have not just a right, but an obligation, to destroy the business of any black man or woman who sells liquor in a black neighborhood.

You may recall some that a dozen hoodlums, cough muslims cough, attacked two liquor stores in Oakland, CA on the 25th:

OAKLAND, Calif. ? The owners of two West Oakland liquor stores said they suffered at least $30,000 in damage when pipe-wielding men wearing suits and bow ties rampaged through the businesses, smashing the glass doors of coolers and hundreds of bottles of liquor.

Police said Friday they are investigating the possibility that the vandals were followers of the Nation of Islam, due to their attire and remarks attributed to them during the rampage. Oakland’s Black Muslim leaders have rejected that possibility, said police Lt. Rick Golphin.

“They asked us if we were Muslim,” said Kaled Saleh, who was working at San Pablo Market and Liquor along with two other employees when about a dozen men entered about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.

“When we said ‘yes,’ one of them said that good Muslims shouldn’t be poisoning the community with alcohol, or something like that.”

Several minutes later, the same group is believed to have descended on a second store, the New York Market, attacking it in similar fashion.

Owners of the two stores each said they believed their losses totaled about $15,000.

[…]The video shows African-American men wearing suits and bow ties, attire commonly associated with the Nation of Islam, the 75-year-old organization advocating black empowerment.

On the 27th the owner of these two stores was kidnapped and one of the stores burnt to the ground:

The owner of one of two West Oakland corner markets vandalized last week for selling alcohol to African Americans was kidnapped shortly before his store burned in an arson fire Monday, police said.

The owner of New York Market, Tony Hamdan, was found safe about 12 hours after the fire gutted his store. Later Monday, Oakland police said they had identified six of the men who had destroyed liquor displays and toppled shelves at another market shortly before midnight Wednesday.

Deputy Police Chief Howard Jordan said investigators were seeking arrest warrants for six of the 10 or 11 men wearing bow ties and suits who were videotaped trashing San Pablo Liquor on San Pablo Avenue. The same men are believed to have vandalized New York Market about 12 blocks away, police said.

In both cases, the men demanded that the outlets stop selling liquor to African Americans, police said. The six men, whose names were not released, could face charges of terrorist threats, felony vandalism, conspiracy and robbery, Jordan said.

The store at 3446 Market St. was reported ablaze at about 1:20 a.m. The fire was contained within 15 minutes, but much of the store’s merchandise was destroyed.

Hamdan was kidnapped around the time of the fire, police said.

Police in El Cerrito found him unharmed at 1:40 p.m. in the trunk of a blue car in the parking lot of the Safeway store on San Pablo Avenue in El Cerrito, authorities said. Oakland police were investigating the kidnapping but provided no details.

[…]At a news conference, Jordan said police hoped to arrest the six men “fairly shortly” in connection with last week’s vandalism. Jordan said the men had been identified by San Pablo Liquor’s surveillance video.

He said the suspects were not members of the Nation of Islam, a national group of black Muslims led by Louis Farrakhan whose members frequently wear suits with bow ties.

Jordan said, however, that it was “too early to tell” whether the men were part of a separate black Muslim group based on San Pablo Avenue in North Oakland. The Oakland group was headed for about 30 years by founder Yusuf Bey until his death in 2003.

Members of Bey’s group, which operates the Your Black Muslim Bakery store chain, also wear bow ties and suits. A worker at the bakery said Monday that no one was available to comment on the vandalism, fire or kidnapping.

Some of may recall that Yusef Bey was a member of the Nation of Islam who broke with Farrakhan because he felt that Farrakhan was too greedy.

Bey set up his own separate organization of Black Islam to compete with the existing nation of Islam organization in the Bay Area.

Bey’s group have essentially the same beliefs and attitudes as Farrakhan, only they believe that Bey and not Farrakhan is the true successor of Elijah Muhammad.

There have been reports that his organization is nothing more then a organized crime syndicate who are paid protection money from businesses in the area. Bey died recently and his son Antar was to take over. That little plan was trashed tho when Antar was murdered by those inside the organization probably. Now there is a civil war inside the crime family and these attacks are probably being ordered by those who believe war needs to be declared on those they believe are preying on the black community.

Anyway, today they made those arrests:

OAKLAND, Calif. – Two men were arrested late Tuesday for their role in vandalizing a pair of stores for selling alcohol to blacks, Oakland police said.

Deputy Police Chief Howard Jordan said that Donald Cunningham, 73, and Yusef Bey IV, 19, turned themselves in to face charges including robbery, felony vandalism, conspiracy and terrorist threats. Police have obtained warrants charging four other suspects with similar crimes and expect arrests soon.

Bey, who has been linked to a black Muslim group that runs the Your Black Muslim Bakery store chain, was taken to North County Jail and was being held on $200,000 bail, according to police.

The arrests cap a bizarre week that has included the vandalism of the San Pablo Liquor store and the New York Market last Wednesday by men wearing suits and bow ties.

The men, all of whom were black, smashed liquor bottles and toppled food racks while demanding that both stores stop selling alcohol to black people, authorities said.

Then, days later, the store clerk at the New York Market was kidnapped and the business was burned down.

Store employee Abdel Hamdan was found safe in the trunk of a car Monday, about 12 hours after the fire, as police sought to get to the bottom of the attacks.

“We’re very happy that he came back safe,” said Frank Hernen, manager of New York Market. “We don’t want this to go further.”

[…]The incident at San Pablo Liquor was caught on surveillance tape, and police said they have identified six of the 10 or 11 vandals and believe the same men trashed the New York Market.

Suspicion immediately fell on the Nation of Islam, a group of Muslims whose members often wear suits and bow ties. However, Jordan said the suspects are not members of the Nation of Islam. He held out the possibility that they belong to a separate Muslim group based in Oakland.

In 1993, Muslims affiliated with a group which operates the Your Black Muslim Bakery store chain and whose members also wear suits and bow ties, were involved in a similar incident at a Richmond liquor store, police said.
