HBO, producers apologize for ‘Game of Thrones’ scene depicting severed Bush head

NEW YORK — HBO and producers of “Game of Thrones” are apologizing for a scene that depicted former President George W. Bush’s severed head on a spike.

Producers Dan Weiss and David Benioff say they didn’t intentionally use a prosthetic head because it looked like Bush and they meant no disrespect to him.

The scene was shown last year and included again in a DVD release this March with no public notice.

But a story about it began circulating online this week — the same week that HBO is premiering a documentary on Bush’s father, former President George H.W. Bush.

IS APOLOGY ENOUGH, for such outrage, which follow on the sublikinal message against BUSH,
WHICH had begun with the 2008 push to elect OBAMA by demonizing the PRESIDENT BUSH SO MUCH,
THAT IT ALMOST COST HIM AND HIS FAMILY TO BE LYNCHED BY A MOB COMING FROM THE CROWD OF HYSTERICAL PEOPLE IN CABALISTIC DANCE
ARE THEY GOING TO PLAY THAT SAME GAME TO BE REELECT?

I don’t think this was a mistake of any kind, but an outright far-left political statement that the crew thought they could sneak past and smugly joke about later with their Dem’-minded friends. The fact that it was also used in decapitation scenes supports a conclusion that this was deliberate politically-charged hate at work here. The far-left in video production have a long history of placing secretive, profane and insensitive affronts in their productions, thinking that they wont be noticed by the general public. This kind of mean, evil, malicious hatred is something that the far-left have been getting away with for decades, but they have been much worse since George W Bush came to office.

Working in theater, and having personal experience in the construction of prosthetic special visual effects and props, I can state assuredly that it would have taken little effort to alter the head so that it couldn’t resemble Bush. (Adding a beard, a little latex buildup to the nose and forehead and a smattering of airbrush, Changing the hair coloration, Voila! Not-Bush.)

Didn’t a Liberal group create a game that protrays pundit, political and media Conservatives as zombies that needed to be put down as well and they tried to say it was just, “Satire” and wasn’t intended to be political…

We can reasonably construct what happened. The prop dept brought in a huge lot assortment of prosthetic heads and someone noticed one was of Bush. They more than likely showed it around and the director and producers made a bunch of jokes and told the prop people to throw a wig on it and see if anyone notices it. When no one noticed after it aired they of course couldn’t contain themselves and had to point it out in the DVD commentary to show how cool and funny they were. It of course is backfiring and now they are playing innocent and trying to back track their guilt.

I actually like the show due to the books and George RR Martin is not in any sense a Liberal. But all it takes is for a group of Liberal Left Hollywood types to tarnish what is a good series. Been watching the series at my friends since I refuse to pay for HBO and now I doubt I will buy the Blu-Rays.

@Aleric:
Oh, he’s a liberal.

Politically I’m a liberal Democrat, so I have some of the expected heroes. I admire Franklin Delano Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy. Eugene McCarthy was a hero of mine back in college. I was part of the “Get Clean for Gene” movement, was one of the kids trying to end the Vietnam War through the electoral process.

Interview with George R. R. Martin

I still love his books and I love the show. You just don’t see George throwing his “liberal-ness” around. He also opposed the Iraq war in a big way.
I am also a big fan of Stephen King, and he is a huge lib. Even so, I can enjoy their work and disregard their politics.
Word is right though, if it were Obama’s noodle on a pike, the outrage would be incredible. The fact that D&D and HBO are trying to do damage control over it though shows the power the right is starting to have over Hollywood’s stupidity.

@Aqua:

I was once a huge Stephen King fan and can ignore his politics to a certain point.

His denigration of the US military however was a cleaving point for me.

When he made the statements that he made about our men and women in uniform…well, that was the day I disposed of all of his books that I owned and I haven’t spent a cent on his stuff since.

He’s absolutely entitled to speak his mind. And I am entitled to speak back to him with my wallet.

they should try it with OBAMA’S HEAD AFTER HE’S GONE, WHAT’S GOOD FOR THE GEESE IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER.

AT FOX NEWS, SOME GUESS ARE TRYING TO FIND EXCUSES FOR OBAMA FAILURES,
THOSE LIBERALS ARE TRYING SO HARD, BUT STILL OBAMA DID LET YOU DOWN, HE IS ALSO SELLING THE AMERICANS WATERS
AROUND IT, OCEAN NAVIGATION RULES ALL MARITIME WATERWAYS TO THE UN WORLD ORG, THIS BEFORE HE LEAVE,
AMERICA DON’T LET THAT GO, YOU MUST FIGHT IT
MITT ROMNEY WON’T LET AMERICA DOWN, BECAUSE HIS LOVE AND DEDICATION FOR HIS COUNTRY IS VERY VISIBLE MORE AS THE NOVEMBER IS COMING, THERE ARE NO CONTRADICTION EVER,

@Aye:
I remember the comment he made. Granted, it was stupid; but he is a pretty big supporter of the troops. He has paid for many to come home for Christmas and other trips. I know he hated the war and he hated Bush, but he has done much for the troops, especially the National Guard unit where he lives.
