Quick post about the Herman Cain allegations from a Sharon Bialek. Here is her accusation:
At that time I had on a black pleated skirt, a suit jacket and a blouse. He had on a suit with his shirt open. But instead of going into the offices, he suddenly reached over and he put his hand on my leg under my skirt and reached for my genitals. He also grabbed my head and brought it towards his crotch. I was very, very surprised and very shocked. I said, “What are you doing? You know I have a boyfriend. This isn’t what I came here for.”
Mr. Cain said, ‘You want a job, right?’ I asked him to stop, and he did. I asked him to take me back to my hotel, which he did right away.
Cain immediately issued a statement regarding the charges:
Just as the country finally begins to refocus on our crippling $15 trillion national debt and the unacceptably high unemployment rate, now activist celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred is bringing forth more false accusations against the character of Republican front-runner Herman Cain.
All allegations of harassment against Mr. Cain are completely false. Mr. Cain has never harassed anyone. Fortunately the American people will not allow Mr. Cain’s bold “9-9-9 Plan”, clear foreign policy vision and plans for energy independence to be overshadowed by these bogus attacks.
Which is a complete denial. But that won’t stop the media from demanding HE prove he didn’t do it rather then demanding SHE prove that he did.
Couple questions. Why did she not bring this up many years ago if she felt it was sexual assault? Why now?
If the allegations are true lets go through them bit by bit.
Ms. Bialek contacts Herman Cain for a meeting. She meets him in a hotel room that he paid for. She goes to dinner with him. She goes for a drive with him. What was said during all that time? Was there any sexual signals going on? If so, was this just a sexual pass made by a man who was turned down, after which he drove her home?
I don’t know….but anyone represented by Gloria Allred already is starting deep in the hole to me. But she is the one with the burden of proof here.
Don’t expect that to happen tho, the double-standard continues.
Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton allegedly trolled for women, using state troopers as his procurers. As president, Clinton engaged in oral sex with Monica Lewinsky in the Oval Office. He lied about it under oath and was impeached, though later acquitted by the U.S. Senate. Other sexual accusations tainted Clinton, including one that he raped one Juanita Broaddrick. That “everybody lies about sex” and “it was just sex” and didn’t affect his public responsibilities, were just two of the exculpatory statements from Clinton’s Democratic defenders. James Carville slimed Paula Jones, one of Clinton’s accusers, by saying you never know what you’ll find “when you drag a hundred-dollar bill through a trailer park.”
Many other Democrats in modern times have been caught with their pants down — JFK, John Edwards. Some paid a political price. Most did not because their policies were favored by the liberal media, which gave them cover.

Mr Cain ran for the U.S. Senate seat in Georgia in 2004…. What stopped this bit^h from saying anything about sexual harassment by Cain then?? Why didn’t ‘any’ of these bit#ches say anything then? One was settled for a small amount (especially compared with $850,000 to settle the false charges Juanita B. made against Bill Clinton).
Another got nada. Her claim was rejected by the NRA.
A third didn’t bother to charge Cain at the time, and will not come out of the shadows now.
And this one. She didn’t charge him then, nor will she do so now. She just wants to make a stink.
A whole lot of nothing.

Employed just over six months. Accuser said she and her boyfriend had met Cain at convention dinner in that brief period. And it was his (the boyfriend’s, so she says) “suggestion” she contact Cain for “..help getting a job back at the association or employment elsewhere.” But Cain had left the Association a month earlier.

She said she “arranged” to meet Cain in the bar at her hotel, and was “surprised by the size of her hotel room, which had been upgraded to a suite.”
Okay, call me crazy, but who has job interviews in bars, over dinner and hotel rooms with someone they only met once, and is no longer employed at the place where she was fired?
And if her behavior led Cain to believe she wanted more than a job, and he acted on that, did he… or did he not stop immediately at her request?
Allred… who really shouldn’t be allowing profile camera shots these days, but I digress… said she has “..two affidavits from friends of Ms. Bialek’s testifying that she had told them of the incident at the time. Ms. Allred did not release the affidavits to the press.”
Affidavits from when? This past couple of weeks? How convenient. Filing any charges? Or just waving papers around, generated coincidentally just when Cain is gathering momentum and has others who at least filed charges when it happened, and didn’t wait for this money, gold digging opportune time.
And why are all these women finding it professional behavior to meet the bosses in bars, hotel rooms and over dinner… solo? Unless, of course, we don’t have their “profession” correctly described….
No surprise you wouldn’t question her credibility yet, @Greg… that would eliminate that oh so wonderful tingle of excitement running up your leg, right? And apparently, not only did he “stop” at her request, but she didn’t find it important enough to press charges. Only now… now why is that, I wonder? (scratches head perplexed)
Personally, I think Cain should sue her and Allred for defamation of character, slander and libel. If this woman thinks she has a case, she should be at the court house, filing briefs and making police reports. But to hit the press with all kinds of stories, johnny-come-lately “affidavits”, and expect the onus to be put upon Cain for innocence is totally antithesis to our laws.
If she wants to accuse him, do it in a court of law, and bring the proof. The media is not a courtroom. It is a vehicle for slander and libel for those who have no real case.

Herman Cain became the CEO of the NRA in 1996. According to their Wiki site, Cain was President from 1996 to 1999.
Considering she said he had left the group a month or so earlier, this means this would have had to have transpired in mid-late 1999, or early 2000…. about the same time the other women were filing charges. Not to mention with her son’s birth in 1999, she was apt to be bigger than a house, and I can’t see anyone attempting what she accuses Cain of doing with a woman in advanced pregnancy.

You know, you guys are making some good points but the issue is that this is number four. There is something there and Herman Cain needs to address it head on – which he should have done last week. Does this disqualify him? No. But if he doesn’t get in front of this it will be his end. As to the woman, I have a few issues with her statement. There is something iffy that I’m just not buying. First, I can’t get with the “I just happen to get a hotel room and invited Mr. Cain by the discuss getting my job back”. Who does that? Why not meet him in his office? Then when she saw the upgrade her “does he think I’m a slut radar” should have went off. Men don’t upgrade hotel rooms for women if they are not planning on using the room to smash. Hell, when it comes to my female friends, I may super size their fries, but that’s about it. So she knew what the deal was. Politically speaking, Herman Cain needs to put this to rest. There is now a face to these allegations and specific conduct on record. The “Liberal Media” meme is not enough.
Why do people dislike Allred so much? Was it that she represented a female witness who testified against Scott Peterson? Her help in drafting a California anti-pornography ordinance? Her representation of Nichole Simpson’s family? Her class action suit against a corporation’s systematic age discrimination against employees? Her law suit against Roman Polanski for the sexual abuse of a 16-year-old girl? Her suit against a bank that refused to cash a check intended to help pay for the funeral of a young soldier killed in Afghanistan? The complaint she filed against the TSA for humiliating a young woman in public?

Of course, the housekeeper only got $5500 in back wages/expenses… considerably cheaper than what Whitman would have paid in court. Besides, it must have been funny to see Allred go thru all that crap for such a pittance of attorney fees… Not much racking in the big bucks of late with her MO.

A Situation:
Employee A, Male, mid 30’s, working as a higher management position in a logistics department for a Company is dealing with a very stressed work load. Worker is known to be always on time, works well with others and has a clean record within the Human Resourcing department in relations to discipline.
Employee B, Female, late 20’s or early 30’s, working in a fabrication process as a foreman or supervisor and is deals only with logistics staff when shipments of resources are causing line stoppages. Employee is known for causing problems amongst other co workers and has been set to training in how to handle work place relationships.
Employee A has never met Employee B but Employee B due to various personal reasons is disgruntled in how Logistics is using a JIT (Just In Time) delivery handling system for resources to fabrication. Employee B makes a series of complaints to her direct Manager but is told to deal with it as the JIT system is company policy, and Employee A is running the Logistics system to task with with is expected to department time tables. Employee B now needs an alternate means to change Logistic’s operations which translates to staff replacement and Employee A is in the line of fire. Employee A still has never dealt personally with Employee B due to department offices beign segmented and seperated in different buildings spanning a city block but it doesn’t stop Employee B from filing a Sexual Harrassment complaint to Human Resourcing. Human Resourcing takes up the complaint and investigates Employee A without ever going into prior worker discipline history of Employee A or B and have Employee A fired on false witness from Employee B and cohorts of B.
You think this doesn’t happen in the business word for you Liberals… think again, I’ve seen at least three managers lose their jobs at Cessna alone from trouble making women who wanted things changed in departments they hated. It also works the other way around, especially in Unionized shops. Gods, how I’ve seen a few lazy shits claim the boss was threating to beat them just to get rid of the boss.
The first two allegations against Cain is curious as the fact that the NRA actually held an investigation into both women and Cain in both discipline history and in relation to the claims against him. It is curious to note that the NRA offered them severance packages after the investigations and a nondisclousre agreement clause that seals their discplinary history within the company. Very curious… It’s like the org was washing its hands of two trouble makers, because if the allegations were indeed true then Cain would have been terminated without any severance pay and would be facing possible court time for commiting crimes. But then again, this is the same Media culture that ignored Bill Clinton’s sexual assaults on women when he was Govenor and then President while also ignoring John Edward’s secert affair till he started to become a real challenger for the 2012 Demcorat President ticket…

It took only 1 comment to bypass any consideration of the accusations and get straight on to the business of tarring and feathering the accuser. For the time being, I’ll stick with my position that no one here really knows the truth–myself included.
I don’t know what country you live in, Greg. But in the America I was raised, the burden of proof is on the accuser. And they generally level their charges within a reasonable time after the event, and via a court of law. They don’t attempt to try the accused in the media.
Victims usually call the police… not press conferences, talking heads, and cameras to try their cases. And they don’t arm themselves with a cheap, busybody shock jock quasi-lawyer who puts her personal agendas before justice and points of law…. bandying about affidavits taken over a decade after the event.
So Greg… now that you find it more convenient to blame the accused, instead of the accuser who has an obvious timeline problem…. 1997? 1999 or 2000, which is when Cain left the Association?… how about letting us know what kind of person arranges job interviews in hotel bars, restaurants and hotel rooms with a man who no longer works at the place where she wanted her job back (or another job) whom she only met once? Many pundits, even Democratic ones have been saying that there is no clear evidence to back up the accusations against Cain and that the “importance” of these accusations is being overplayed by some in the press. The result that the incomplete accusations by anonymous accusers is insufficient, and it looks like this might just fizzle out. Until #4 shows up out of the blue.
I don’t know if Cain ever sexually harassed a woman or not. Without formal charges, evidence or witnesses this is simply “he says ..” “she says…” There is rarely witnesses with sexual harassment, and often comes down to who do you believe. It seems to me that this is all too convenient to come out now when Cain has peaked in the polls, and it stinks to high heaven to be hitting the news at this time. It is not uncommon for notoriety hunters to jump on a bandwagon of accusations of crime or scandal, purely for the media attention. This could also be a case of politically motivated character assassination of the worse kind. (Puts me in mind of the television show “Leverage.”) Who is footing the bill for Allred, and who pointed M. Bialek in Gloria’s direction? Hell, these accusations are nothing compared to the stories of peccadilloes and sexual harrasments by one Bill Clinton, which the press mostly ignored.
Clearly this is an orchestrated event to take Cain out of the running.
Mark Levin fisks the most recent accuser and her account via The Right Scoop:
She is not a public speaker, so “rehearsed” is not out of the ordinary.

We don’t know this, but a real news organization would investigate this. If she has been a full-time homemaker and single mom, it is curious how she has been getting by. However, another article said that she has been living with a boyfriend, which is not exactly the same as being a single mom.
It is reasonable to ask, is she aware of this. Perhaps Cain was no longer working for the association, but met with her anyway. However, her firing seems to have occurred while Cain is president of the restaurant association.
From her story, this struck me as being the oddest arrangement, apart from remarking, “When are you running for president?”
Although, not damning, this is unusual. However, I know very little about fund-raising, which seems to be the area that she was in. Perhaps that is more common in this field? Being “let go” from one arm of the restaurant association after 1.5 years is a very short time (which period of time was actually 6 months). I wonder what the cause was? Is there any chance that Cain had something to do with this firing or that she thought that she had? That is pure conjecture.
This is not really an option. How can a presidential candidate find the time to sue someone and run for president at the same time? On the other hand, she never sued Cain or filed charges because there was nothing to sue him for, nor did he commit any criminal act, assuming that her story is 100% accurate.
The latter is a possibility; however, it is also possible that she flirted with Cain a great deal, and that Cain misread these signals (again, assuming that her story is accurate). It is not impossible for even an honorable man to be led astray.
This does not make this story false. In my opinion, Allred derailed the California governor’s election with a mostly true story by an illegal house maid.
Isn’t the time 1997 when this was supposed to have occurred?
The hotel may not be willing to make this information public (it would indicate whether Cain upgraded her or not, because he would have paid for it). It might be, in her mind, to cash in on this via the ways you have suggested.
We always have to bear in mind, even if this women is a partial nutcase, her story could be reasonably close to the facts. I am not saying that it is, nor does this change my support for Cain. Being a male, I understand that we can be tempted.
One other thing….
If she had previously worked for the NRA, then why would Cain supposedly be taking her to show her the offices of the NRA?

with regards to the hotel room, why would Cain make advances in the car, when he spent all of that money getting a great room for this gal? Why wouldn’t he ask if he could check out the room to see what the upgrade looked like?
If the charges are false, a company would want to get rid of women like this, who make such allegations.

Cain, if he had been lured by this woman’s flirting, would reasonably ask, in the midst of dinner, “Why are you here?” She said before it was all about a job interview, but maybe Cain is looking to clarify the situation.
If she flirted and used her sexuality to raise money, that may explain why she was let go after 6 months.
If she was flirty with Cain, this may explain this being an odd job interview.
Because Cain has been married for such a long time, he may not be ready to “come clean” about this or other situations.
So, I am not dismissing her charges out of hand; nor do I think that this disqualified Cain as a Republican nominee. On the other hand, I am not convinced that she is being honest either.
It’s the next day….will she be on a media blitz?
