Russian Military Campaign in Ukraine—SitRep Using Combined Sources (Boris Rozhin (@colonelcassad) and Vladislav Ugolny)

1a—Mariupol—After the evacuation of part of the civilians, artillery and aerial bombardment of Azovstal continued.

1b—Mariupol—Sporadic attempts by the Azov fighters to test the perimeter of the Russian blockade around Azovstal are being interdicted and suppressed. There has been no full-scale attempt to storm the territory of the industrial complex.

1c—Mariupol—The Azov fighters have been informed that they have the choice of surrender or death in battle. No evacuation corridors will be provided to them. The reports of the capture of the Canadian general [Trevor Kadier] have yet to be confirmed.

2—Southern Flank (From Dnepr River to Maryinka)—Fighting continues along the entire frontline. Preliminary reports indicate that Russian forces have been able to widen the zone of control to the west of Velikaya Novoselka, toward the settlement of Temirovka.

3a—Zaporozhye—There have been no major changes along the Kamenskoye—Orekhov—Gulyai Pole line, apart from some clashes south of Orekhov. Clashes continue on the approaches to Gulyai Pole. To the east of it, Russian forces are contesting Ukrainian control of several villages.

3b—Zaporozhye—There has been no appreciable progress. Ukrainian General Staff claims that the Russian forces are merely testing Ukrainian defences here and concentrating a strike group that includes, among others, troops that had been freed after the liberation of Mariupol.

4—Central Front (from Popasnaya to Maryinka)—The assault on Popasnaya in LNR continues. Near Avdeevka, DNR forces are advancing on Troitskoye [which has since been liberated] on Novoselka, aiming to emerge at Niu-York. There have been no major changes in Maryinka.

5—Ugledar—No significant changes along the Novomikhailovka—Ugledar—Velikaya Novoselka line. Russian forces have reinforced their positions in settlements to the south of Velikaya Novoselka. The Ukrainian Ugledar strongpoint continues to shield the Maryinka-Kurakhovo highway.

6—Maryinka—No significant changes near Maryinka. As previously, clashes centre on the terrikon (man-made mining waste hill). The fighting here is of a positional nature, given that the Ukrainian army retains the ability to bring reinforcements to Maryinka from Kurakhovo.

7a—Avdeevka—In the Avdeevka industrial area, fighting of medium intensity continues, without notable advances. To the north, the sides are engaged in battles for Novoselka-2 and Novobakhmutovka. Over the course of two days of fighting, DNR forces liberated Troitskoye.

7b—Avdeevka—Attempts to approach Niu-York from the east so far have yielded no substantial success. Ukrainian forces continue mercilessly shelling the cities of DNR—Donetsk, Makeevka, Yasinovataya, Elenovka, etc., using 122-152 howitzers, various MLRS and Tochka-U SRBMs.

8—LNR—Fighting on the southern outskirts, in the industrial area of Rubezhnoye continues. Clashes also continue on the outskirts of Severodonetsk. In Popasnaya, RF forces are methodically moving through the Ukrainian stronghold in the city, with a slow tempo of advance.

9—Popasnaya—Both sides of the conflict are sustaining heavy casualties. Both understand the operational value of Popasnaya, leading to fierce fighting. Russian forces have pushed the Ukrainian troops into the northwestern corner of the city and taken the railroad station.

10—North Flank (Balakleya to Popasnaya)—On the Izyum springboard, fighting continues along entire frontline. In particular, Russian forces have engaged Ukrainian army for control of Velikaya Kamyshevakha (UA says RF took it), and clashes continue at Pashkovo and Dolgenkoye.

11—Oskol Reservoir—Near the Oskol river, a thousand fighters of the Ukrainian National Guard, with supporting army units, have been encircled and cordoned off, allowing for uninterrupted communication between Izyum and the Russian military grouping advancing to the east.

12a—Yampol—The frontline lies along the Sosnovoye—Shandrigolovo—Drobyshevo—Krasny Lyman line. Yampol has been liberated, and clashes are taking place on the approaches to Seversky Donets river. Bridges across the Serversky Donets river were blown by Ukrainian forces.

12b—Yampol—As a result of blowing up the bridges, the Ukrainian grouping on the right (west) bank of Seversky Donets has no path for an organized retreat (the only option for retreat here being toward Seversky). This trap is not unlike the encirclement near the Oskol river.

13—Rubezhnoye—In addition to mop-up on the outskirts of Rubezhnoye, there are reports of clashes for the Voevodovka settlement [which has since been liberated by Russian troops] between Rubezhnoye and Severodonetsk. On Bakhmutka, RF has advanced near Orekhovo.

14—Izyum—Fighting continues to the north of the Barvenkovo—Slavyansk highway. Russian forces so far have been unable to approach the route directly, but already control it with artillery and other forms of firing control. Fighting continues near Kurulka and Pashkovo.

15a—Izyum—Battle for Velikaya Kamyshevakha continues (UA claims RF has taken it). Toward Slavyansk, Russian forces partially surrounded Krasny Lyman, and fighting is ongoing on outskirts. Ukrainian army is blowing up bridges and preparing for a retreat north of Slavyansk.

15b—Izyum—In this area, Ukrainian troops continue taking the heaviest losses. The transfer of volkssturm and territorial defence units to replenish the wholly demolished units reflects the catastrophic personnel losses in the established Ukrainian army brigades.

15c—Izyum—Between Balakleya and Izyum, UA army continues attempts to traverse Seversky Donets near Protopopovka using pontoon bridges. Previous attempts in approximately the same location failed due to Russian missile strikes.

16a—Kharkov—Near Kharkov, Ukrainian forces are attempting to mount a counterattack, and have seen relative success in pushing the light defensive lines of LNR out of Stary Saltov and when Rosgvardia and DNR/LNR reservists withdrew from Russkaya Lozovaya.

16b—Kharkov—However, the bridge in Stary Saltov had been blown up and Ukrainian forces remain unable to develop an offensive on Volchansk. Russian forces continue reinforcing positions in Kazachya Lopan and Tsirkuny.

16c—Kharkov—At Tsupovka, a Ukrainian attempt to break through toward Kazachya Lopan failed miserably, with UA forces losing 2 tanks to artillery and a tank duel.

17—Kherson—Nikolayev—Krivoy Rog—The line of front is without change, and remains along the Black Sea—Aleksandrovka—Snigiryovka—Velikaya Aleksandrovka—Ivanovka—Dnepr river line.

Picking on the weak and weak minded.

Russia waiting for Biden.jpg

Another impeachable offense. The Constitution only provides for Congress to make a declaration of war.

Take your whine to Vladimir Putin, who hasn’t “declared war” on the country he has invaded or on the tens-of-thousands he is murdering.
