Rep. Elise Stefanik, a Republican from New York, has filed a complaint against a New York judge overseeing the civil fraud trial involving former President Trump. In the complaint, Stefanik accuses Judge Arthur Engoron of displaying “inappropriate bias and judicial intemperance” towards Trump and calls for his resignation.
Stefanik argues that Engoron has shown a “clear judicial bias” against Trump and has violated several rules in the state’s judicial conduct code. She asserts that the judge’s behavior is unacceptable and undermines the defendant’s rights to due process and a fair trial, particularly considering Trump’s status as the front-runner in the 2024 GOP presidential primary.
The complaint echoes arguments made by Trump’s legal team throughout the case, including the claim that there were no victims of Trump’s business dealings and that Engoron unfairly prejudged the case. Prior to the trial, Engoron ruled that Trump, the Trump Organization, and several executives were liable for fraud. This decision jeopardized Trump’s business licenses and iconic properties, although a New York appeals court has temporarily halted the cancellation of the licenses until it hears Trump’s case.

Throughout the ongoing seven-week trial, Engoron has emerged as an unexpected adversary of Trump. Trump himself expressed his belief that the judge would rule against him, citing a history of unfavorable decisions. Engoron repeatedly objected to Trump’s lengthy and digressive responses to questions, urging his attorney to keep him on track and reminding Trump that the trial was not a political rally.
The relationship between Trump and Engoron further deteriorated after the judge issued a limited gag order preventing parties involved in the trial from discussing his principal law clerk. Trump and his team have accused the clerk of bias and referred to her as “Trump-hating.” Stefanik’s complaint addresses the clerk in detail, highlighting her alleged political donations to Democratic causes and criticizing the gag order as an infringement on the defendant’s constitutional rights.
This scumbag judge needs to be removed from the bench and disbarred asap.

The evidence being a bogus Twitter/X account with conspicuous anti-Trump posts, which were reposted by a Trump troll, and then disappeared…
The court needs to double down on that sort of bullshit. Trump is pitting propaganda against reality, with the intention of neutralizing the legal process that threatens him. He’s personally targeting court officials and their family members, claiming he has a right to defend himself.

It’s fortunate there’s that court order requiring Twitter to provide so much account and messaging data. I’m sure everyone wants to get to the bottom of this.
It’s no more ridiculous than saying “Oh, that IS Engoron’s wife”, just because Twitter posts were made using her name.
Twitter is crawling with bot accounts and spoofed identities. The technical guardrails are very low, and the resources and skills of foreign intelligence services are behind many social media disinformation operations.
I won’t even go into the absurdity of thinking someone like Laura Loomer is “an investigative journalist.” Even Marjorie Taylor Greene has identified her as “a documented liar”.
I’m sure it’s just a coincidence that she locked and then deleted the account when Loomer outed her….
If it wasn’t her own account, she couldn’t have deleted it. She wouldn’t have had the login password or access.

Of course they’re appealing. They’ll appeal everything appealable to delay judgement as long as possible. Tens of millions are being thrown at the court system, but contributions are covering it.

Of course they are appealing, because this is nothing but political theater with the one and only intention of knocking Trump out of the Presidential campaign before he can mop the floor with Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden… again.
