Rasmussen shows the two in a dead heat. And when you include “leaners”, it is still a dead heat. But Obama is ahead in electoral votes by about 60-something.

Even though Presidential elections are really about 51 individual contests, there is some merit in looking at national polls. Less than the 4% range we’re at now is where it starts to statistically feasible to win Popular vote and lose in the Electoral College.
