Desiree Fairooz of Texas, 50, jumps up in front of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice before Rice testifies before the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington October 24, 2007. Fairooz, an anti-war protester waved blood-colored hands in Rice’s face at a congressional hearing on Wednesday and shouted “war criminal!”, but was pushed away and detained by police. At right is the committee Chairman Rep. Tom Lantos (D-CA).
Looks like Desiree Fairooz was able to get this close to the Secretary of State by going undercover in ninja-black stealth color.
The typical moonbat Code Pink wardrobe looks more like this:

We then get a call that Lori will be released
in a few hours but no one else. Why? Because they have pending cases,
except for Des. Des [the moonbat who waved her blood-colored hands in front of the Secretary of State] doesn’t have a pending case but her charge is more
serious – assaulting a federal officer. Believe it or not, Condi wanted her goons to let her go. When I finally got to see the pictures
and videos of all that had happened in the hearing, I was blown away.
First I see Des approach Condi, her hands palms out – the blood of
Iraqi children is on your hands, she says. A State Dept Security goon
lunges forward (socks Rep Ross-Lethinin in the process) and grabs Des’
hands and forcefully pushes her away from the Sec State. It was the most graceful speaking truth to power I’ve ever witnessed. And the photos are flying around the world!

CodePink DC in Action(Bring your vomit bag)
A former fetus, the “wordsmith from nantucket” was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1968. Adopted at birth, wordsmith grew up a military brat. He achieved his B.A. in English from the University of California, Los Angeles (graduating in the top 97% of his class), where he also competed rings for the UCLA mens gymnastics team. The events of 9/11 woke him from his political slumber and malaise. Currently a personal trainer and gymnastics coach.
The wordsmith has never been to Nantucket.
Chairman Lantos warned Code Pink circus freaks at the Petraeus hearing that they would be PROSECUTED, not just arrested for disrupting these hearings.
Has anyone seen any of the criminal proceedings or are these fruit loops just getting a slap on the wrist and paying a fine?
Sorry circus freaks but you do not have a Constitutional right to take away the Constitutional right of other people to speak by disrupting these hearings.
Frankly, these nutballs are the neocons best friend!
If they were really interested in peace, and if they really wanted to stop the killing, then they’d go to Iraq and march against the terrorists. “Make Love-not IED’s” Even better, go to Kabul. Oh yeah, head-sawer-offers would appreciate it, respect the words of the women in pink clown costumes, and there’d be an end to head-sawin-offin. Nah, instead they rant and rave in DC where Democrats have proven they’re not gonna cut funding for troops until the troops are home.
Honestly, I feel sad for them. They’ve been so misled, so terrorized by claims of what “Bushco” would do to them that they are wigging out in the most extraordinary ways. Yeah, there are nuts in this country too, but I still think these people are misled rather than nutty-at least at the core. Misled into thinking that the liberators are the problem, and not the head-sawer-offers who are Al Queda death cult followers (btw for those late to the game, the propaganda lie that AQ in Iraq is not the same as Bin Laden’s AQ…well, that myth is now dead).
Sorry Scott, I don’t feel sorry for them one bit. These people haven’t been misled: They fundamentally hate America and its goodness. The Bush administration was just an exuse to push for our national destruction. They’re in league with al Qaeda.
Oppose them with all our might, I say.
God bless Condi’s heart. She the most dignified woman imaginable.
Those are my comments above. I never post anonymously. Had a little trouble with the preview function and had to repost.
I guess my thing is that first, I don’t at ALL deny that there’s a lotta nutjobs (see also “Dykes Against Dubya”) who use the war as a mere catalyst for expressing partisan political hate, frustration, fear, and misled views. However, I have many friends and family who are very VERY good people, very intelligent people, and they march. They have opposed the removal of a dictator since before it happened. What I’m trying to say is that from my perspective, most of the people who oppose the invasion of Iraq (as if there’s a way to just leave or go back in time 5 yrs and make everything go away and be nice, and bring Saddam back to life, etc) are not loons, but good people. Again, there’s NO SHORTAGE of first class clowns out there, and they get the best camera time, but when 8 MILLION people in the world marched against the invasion back in 03…they weren’t all loons. Very good, very intelligent, very caring people with great hopes and fears for this country and every person who is America…have been deliberately misled, and I am all about pointing out the reality, the misleading professional politicians and their lies, and trying to remind people that being an American, being a Christian (or any other non-violent, loving religion) means that genocide is not acceptable. It means that if you want to prevent a war…you don’t deter a terrorist by protesting against him.
Good people, good Americans have been and still are pawns to the Democratic Party leadership, the World Worker’s Party, ANSWER, and (gag) there’s probably some good, intelligent, caring people in CODE PINK (though I gotta wonder on that one, but maybe it’s their outfits?).
Last night I was wondering after reading that the Democratic Party is now controlled by CODE PINK….
Is the New Theme for the New Direction of the New Democratic Party now, “Be a Democrat! Be Pink-no! Bluuuuuuuuuuuuue”
(Monty Python fans I bow to you)
I understand what Scott is saying.
It amazes me that, at this point, there are protests against us being there. If it’s simply a matter of not wanting our soldiers over in Iraq, I might be able to understand that. If it’s consideration for the Iraqi people, and what’s in their best interest, I might be sympathetic before the war.
I know plenty of good, intelligent people myself who are against our presence in Iraq. Some might be woefully misled by bad, distorted perception and information; but others, I believe, gravitate toward the information that appeals to them politically and ideologically. These are the ones who would protest ANY war, on grounds of morality. As if the absence of war is the same as having peace.
And it’s even more amazing when you consider the fact that-per General Petraeus’ testimony to Congress-the withdrawal’s happening. Most of the surge forces will be out in the spring, the rest by summer, and then he expects to order more force withdrawals.
So…if it’s happening? Why “demand” it?
habit perhaps? Inability to recognize the truth?
Shock, Awe, and Apathy at the fact that it’s happening because of success and not because (as Sen Reid said) the war is lost?
Today I saw an interesting oped from Joe Klein at TIME. He was freaking because he’d finally recognized that success was happening in Iraq, and wanted to know why the troops couldn’t come home now? Duh, there’s been success in Iraq all year (since Jan/Feb), and as soon as the anti-Bush/anti-war pundit sees it, he wants to use success as the reason to withdraw rather than his years’ long excuse of defeat. Again, it’s happening. The troop rotation is scheduled. The troops are coming home. The US is withdrawing forces from Iraq. So, again…why “demand” it unless they blew off all the news all year long, completely dismissed and ignored everything General Petraeus said in favor of the rantings of defeatist Democratic Party leaders, and now are demanding withdrawal out of sheer habit and the inability to recognize that it’s even happening?
Just as people were in shock and awe when the statue fell, as they’re in shock, awe, and apathy at the ineptitude of the Democratic Congress and the blatantly blown off lies from those Democratic Party leaders whom they believed, trusted, funded, and supported…so too are Democrats now in shock and awe and apathy that anything good can ever happen.
btw, aside from Curt, did anyone notice that Sen Levin and other Democrats are preparing to cut war funding next year so they can claim they did something? ‘Course, they’ll do it after the troops come home, but damned if they’re not preparing to declare success of a DNC New Direction in Iraq that never existed. Amazing

AMERICA IS WITHDRAWING FROM IRAQ, and Democrats are still demanding it?
“…I have recommended a drawdown of the surge forces from Iraq. In fact, later this month, the Marine Expeditionary Unit deployed as part of the surge will depart Iraq. Beyond that, if my recommendations are approved, that unit’s departure will be followed by the *withdrawal of a brigade combat team without replacement in mid-December and the further redeployment without replacement of four other brigade combat teams and the two surge Marine battalions in the first 7 months of 2008, until we reach the pre-surge level of 15 brigade combat teams by mid-July 2008.* I would also like to discuss the period beyond next summer. _Force reductions will continue beyond the pre-surge levels of brigade combat teams that we will reach by mid-July 2008;…”-Gen P speech to Congress
Scott: I’d hate to have the job of deciding which of the “anti-war” types were sane but misled and where were so poisoned by self hate that they blame their country for all the evil in the world.
If these people really did care so much about the innocent lives being lost in Iraq where were they when Saddam was gassing the Kurds? Where were they when the marsh Arabs habitat was destroyed? How many of them were arrested while protesting the wholesale slaughter of the Shiites and people being fed into wood chippers and babies being tossed out of upper story windows?
Saddam had an unbroken killing spree in Iraq that dwarfs all the deaths since the U.S. invasion. Where was Code Pink and the “anti-war” left when that evil was going on year after year?
I really do want to know whether the people disrupting Congressional hearings are being prosecuted. Surely their arrests are public records? Can we find out Curt? Lantos promised they would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and yet he still admits Code Pink to these hearings knowing full well they are going to behave this way!
Democrats have given a wink and a nod to these people. They don’t have to admit people dressed like circus freaks to these hearings.
I first saw that video on Fox News yesterday and decided to look on YouTube for it.
If they look like clowns (ah, remember the good ole days when Dr King made sure everyone marched in their Sunday best and walked to jail with honor, pride, and peace?)
If they act like clowns (I’ve been scanning the web for years now looking for pics of Ghandi with a child’s birthday party crown on his head, or party glasses, or blood on his hands…haven’t found one yet)
If they demand for something to happen when it’s already happening…
Yeah, I guess those are the people that are clowns. Really, it’s not too hard to pic out of a crowd those who are intelligent, caring, moral, and merely misled vs those who go to protests with the idea that it’s a festival or a parade, and the one thing festivals and parades have in common?
clowns
It’s my understanding that China has a recalled all CODE PINK TOYS because of defects (lead-brained idiots)
Echoing Scott, an article from Eli Lake (excerpt):
More at American Thinker
I saw the Eli Lake article at the NY Sun. Good piece.
I really do want to find out if these Code Pink circus freaks are being prosecuted. Surely there is a public record we can access.
Uh… are we sure the individual holding up the “Don’t tap my phone” sign is a woman? She may be an unfortunate female, but he/she/it looks like a cross-dresser to me.
