The Times protected one of its own
TheWrap’s Sharon Waxman has found witnesses to back up her claim that the left-wing New York Times killed a 2004 story that exposed producer Harvey Weinstein’s alleged sexual predations.
Just hours after the Weinstein scandal went nuclear earlier this month, Waxman revealed that way back in 2004, while working as a reporter for the Times, she nailed down a story about how Fabrizio Lombardo, the head of Miramax in London, had zero film experience and that his real job was to procure women for Weinstein.According to Waxman, she had on the record sources ready to confirm “evenings [Fabrizio] organized with Russian escorts.” Moreover, Waxman says she “tracked down a woman in London who had been paid off after an unwanted sexual encounter with Weinstein.”
Waxman claims that after intense pressure from Matt Damon, Russell Crowe, and a personal visit from Weinstein, “The story was stripped of any reference to sexual favors or coercion and buried on the inside of the Culture section[.]”
As one might expect, the New York Times immediately struck back against Waxman’s claims. Executive editor Dean Baquet, who was not with the Times in 2004, said that then-executive editor “Bill Keller and Jill Abramson … have no recollection of being pressured over Ms. Waxman’s story.”

They only acknowledge this when it is useful as a political weapon and are more than happy to see women abused, or, as a liberal woman, BE abused, if it will secure their jobs, earn them some money or benefit the liberal agenda.
Weinstein’s abuse of women is nothing new in Hollywood. Their women’s rights facade is just another Hollywood production.

@kitt: My prediction: Weinstein goes and serves his sentence in “rehab” for a few months (he isn’t exactly taking it seriously, by the way) then Hollywood will give him a big gala banquet to welcome his new, cured, women-respecting carcass back to Hollywood. All gone, think no more about it, everyone deserves a second chance, nothing to see here.

Or Rachel Crooks? Or Temple Taggart? How about Jill Harth? Ever wonder about the relationship between Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, who got a amazingly light sentence thanks to Alexander Acosta—who is now Secretary of Labor? Probably not. Though there were allegations involving Trump and the rape of a 13 year-old. All that’s useful is that Epstein was also an acquaintance of Bill Clinton.

@Greg: I won’t say the Trump administration has been 100% successful. In addition to the left doing all they can to make sure the nation is crippled while he is President, he has had a very tough list of disasters to deal with; some fresh, many cans kicked down the road to 2017. But, it is nothing akin to the characterization the left creates. Certainly nothing like allowing, knowing full well what the Russians were up to, an adversary gain control of a fifth of a vital strategic resource while the current Secretary of State grows wealthy in connection to the deal.

If you actually believed Trump was as terrible as you say you do, you would let him carry out his agenda and fail. Then you could use that against him.
