This is the “democracy” we’re supporting in Ukraine

We are pouring money hand over fist into Ukraine. Recently the Biden regime announced another $1 billion package destined for Kyiv, binging the total to at least $76 billion from the US alone.  This is all being done in the name of democracy.

But for what kind of democracy are we engaged in

(sound familiar?)

He’s ousting defense officials

He nationalized TV news and has restricted opposition parties.

Zelenskyy made a thinly veiled threat against European countries should support wane:

Curtailing aid to Ukraine will only prolong the war, Mr Zelensky argues. And it would create risks for the West in its own backyard. There is no way of predicting how the millions of Ukrainian refugees in European countries would react to their country being abandoned.

Ukrainians have generally “behaved well” and are “very grateful” to those who sheltered them. They will not forget that generosity. But it would not be a “good story” for Europe if it were to “drive these people into a corner”.

Zelenskyy said that Putin would come for the rest of the world should he prevail in Ukraine.

In a bizarre rambling statement Zelenskyy claimed that climate change is killing people and the only answer was more money for Ukraine

“Even though humanity is failing on its climate policy objectives, this means that extreme weather will still impact the normal global life & some evil state will also weaponize its outcomes. “And when people in the streets of New York & other cities of the world went out on climate protest, we all have seen them, & when people in Morocco & Libya, & other countries die as a result of natural disasters, & when islands & countries disappear underwater, & when tornadoes & deserts are spreading into — into new territories, & when all of this is happening, one, a natural disaster in Moscow, decided to launch a big war & killed tens of thousands of people. We have to stop it. “We must act, united to defeat the aggressor & focus all our capabilities and energy on addressing these challenges. As nukes are restrained, likewise, the aggressor must be restrained at all his tools and methods of the war. Each word now can become final, but it takes our unity to make sure that aggression will not break in again. And it is not a dialogue between the so-called great power somewhere behind closed doors that can guarantee us all the new wars era but open war of all nations for peace.”

Somehow, more money for Ukraine will stop earthquakes. What islands have disappeared?

And by the way, Zelenskyy is holding an American in a Ukrainian prison

While lawmakers on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. debate sending billions more in military aid to Ukraine, an American citizen journalist, Gonzalo Lira, is languishing in a Ukrainian prison on allegations of spreading Russian propaganda, throwing into question the status of free speech in the supposed democracy the Biden administration argues is worthy of more taxpayer dollars.

The Biden administration is asking Congress to approve another $24 billion for Ukraine for now through the end of this year, which would add to the $113 billion that Congress has committed to the country since its war with Russia began in February of last year.

President Biden on Tuesday at the United Nations argued that investment in Ukraine was an investment in “the future of every country that seeks a world governed by basic rules.”

I don’t know about you, but this doesn’t strike me as democracy. Ukraine has become a money pit for the US war machine. The war is at a stalemate. Russia pretty much has what it needs.

Zelenskyy has indeed come a long way.

Or has he?
