obama’s endless grasping at straw men reaches Fox News

Prior to the Presidential election Barack Obama made it clear that while he was not on the ballot, his ego was:

“I am not on the ballot this fall. Michelle’s pretty happy about that. But make no mistake: these policies are on the ballot. Every single one of them.”

America agreed. And it handed him his ass. But it’s not his fault. Nothing is ever his fault:

To hear Barack Obama tell it, his career trajectory from backbencher in the Illinois state legislature to president of the United States has gone flawlessly. It’s everyone else who’s let him down.

Behold the Immaculate Administration — conceived in sinlessness and discharged with purity of heart. If only others would pull their load.

After all, it can’t be his fault that, seven years on, the economy is still a mess, the national debt is pushing $20 trillion, Russia is gobbling up bits of central Europe and his handling of the Middle East has sent a tidal wave of Muslim “refugees” streaming toward the heart of Europe while ISIS builds a caliphate, can it?

No, nothing is ever obama’s fault. Never has been, never will be. The word “introspection” is not recognizable in his lexicon. So when hillary got toasted in the election, obama embarked on the odyssey to find straw men to blame.

He blamed hillary:

President Barack Obama suggested fellow Democrat Hillary Clinton was partly to blame for her stunning loss to Republican Donald Trump in the presidential election. The president noted that Clinton should have focused on reaching out to white, non-urban voters like he did in both 2008 and 2012.

The president noted that Clinton’s failure to “show up everywhere,” not just the diverse big cities she focused on during the final leg of her campaign, ended up costing her the election, Politico reported. “How we organise politically I think is something that we should spend some time thinking about,” Obama told reporters on Monday (14 November) ahead of a foreign trip to Greece, Germany and Peru.

He blamed social media:

He blamed “fake news”:

Now he settles on Fox News as his latest straw man:

In this election, [white working class voters] turned out in huge numbers for Trump. And I think that part of it has to do with our inability, our failure, to reach those voters effectively. Part of it is Fox News in every bar and restaurant in big chunks of the country, but part of it is also Democrats not working at a grassroots level, being in there, showing up, making arguments. That part of the critique of the Democratic Party is accurate. We spend a lot of time focused on international policy and national policy and less time being on the ground. And when we’re on the ground, we do well.

I don’t know what kind of bars obama has been to over the last eight years but Fox News is rarely on the menu in bars. Sports takes center stage there. Most commonly, it’s ESPN, or more correctly, SJWN. It’s a rare place that has Fox News on the screen, not in the least for fear that it might cause a liberal to go postal and burn the place down.

Additionally, barack obama might not be aware of it but he is the President of the United States- thankfully for but another 50 days. As President, obama owns the figurative bully pulpit. It’s his to use as he sees fit, unless he’s too busy bowing to Saudi kings or taking selfies with foreign leaders or shanking shots on the links. If his messages didn’t get through despite a fawning media, it’s not the fault of social media, hillary clinton or Fox News.

Maybe people wanted a change. Maybe they’re sick of his and hillary’s liberal elite condescension. Maybe they’re sick of the goal of globalization at the cost of the nation. Maybe they’re sick of the President dividing us and concerning himself with everything other than his own country.  hillary would have been nothing more than obama III.

In other words, it’s his own fault.
