“Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon!”

So cheered the Black Lives Matter movement in St.Paul last August. A group of assassins took up the cause and five cops were killed in Dallas last night. The assassinations occurred during a protest over the shooting death of Alton Sterling. I am going to place some of the blame at the foot of Barack Obama. After the shootings in Louisiana and Minnesota, Obama, as he ever so inclined to do in certain situations, weighed in on the shootings without the benefit of facts.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama called on American law enforcement to root out bias in its ranks and said all Americans should be troubled by frequent police shootings of blacks and Hispanics, insisting that fatal incidents in Minnesota and Louisiana are not isolated.

Adding his voice to a growing public outcry, Obama said the shootings were symptoms of a “broader set of racial disparities” in the justice system that aren’t being fixed quickly enough.

It seems as though this was taken as a signal to speed things up. White cops were being targeted, allegedly by  the Black Power Political Organization. The assassinations were roundly cheered in some quarters.

There are calls for more cop killings, and Twitter continues to support the messages.

These come in response to the shootings of two black men- Alton Sterling and Philando Catile- by white cops. Led by the Barack Obama, people are not waiting for the results of investigations and now are taking vengeance into their own hands. The misinformation about these terrible events is rampant. The UK Mirror says:

It came in the week of public outrage over the deaths of two unarmed black men shot by police.

Both Sterling and Catile were armed. Beatification efforts are underway already. A “friend” describes Sterling:

Despite his record, Darian Gardner, his friend, told The Advocate that Sterling, “didn’t cause any harm to the community. He was nice. He wasn’t a bad guy. He was respectable.

I am not saying he deserved to die, but Sterling was not sterling:

Alton Sterling was not an admirable man. His rap sheet (offered to media by Baton Rouge officials for $148 a copy) is 46-pages long and includes convictions going back 20 years for illegal weapons possession; battery; carnal knowledge of a teen-ager (whom he impregnated); possession of stolen property; disturbing the peace; domestic abuse; and, just last month, failing to register as a sex offender.

Again, it doesn’t mean he deserved to die but it might mean he’d be more inclined to harm a police officer than would Philando Catile.

This has the echoes of the Michael Brown case. How did it come to be? Like this:

A homeless man made the 911 call that brought police to the convenience store where Alton Sterling was shot dead, a source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN on Thursday.

Sterling was selling CDs early Tuesday outside the Triple S Food Mart in Baton Rouge, the source said, when the homeless man approached him and asked for money.
The man was persistent, and Sterling showed him his gun, the source said.
“I told you to leave me alone,” Sterling told the man, according to the source.
The homeless man then used his cell phone to call 911.

The cops responded. They gave Sterling a lawful order and he refused. They wrestled with him, began searching him and one of the cops yells out that Sterling has a gun. Their weapons are not drawn until Sterling’s gun is discovered:

The weapon is removed from Sterling’s pants at about 30 seconds into this video.  The takeaways?

This is terrible thing for all involved but unfortunately we’ve seen the movie before.

Philando Catile is a wholly different situation. Catile was allegedly shot by a Hispanic cop-  Jeronimo Yanez.

Philando Catile by all reports was a good man. He was reportedly stopped for a faulty tail light.

You can hear a male screaming expletives in anguish during the video. Catile’s girlfriend claims that Catile was in possession of weapon but he had a license to carry and he did inform the cop of the weapon. She also claims that Catile was reaching for his wallet as instructed by the officer and then was shot.

Right now that’s about all we know. If the cop did ask Catile to produce an ID and shot him for reaching for it, the cop is wrong. I’ll happily allow Curt to correct me but it seems the proper procedure would be to instruct someone to put his hands on the dashboard or out of the window while the subject is asked to exit the vehicle, then is searched and all is verified. I am speculating here, but I suspect the cop was more skittish than racist but it’s hard to accept this shooting as being anything other than wrongful. For the rest, we’ll have to wait.

The circumstances of these two shootings could not be more different. Few know them, and that includes our idiot President. The Executive Director of the National Association of Police Organizations had some strong words for Obama as well

We are teetering on the edge of a civil war, thanks to Obama and the race baiters. One wonders how many will die because of the ignorant hate spewing. Another gunman went on a shooting spree targeting whites in Tennessee today, leaving one woman dead and three wounded. Social media is on one hand a wonderful tool, but it also a curse in that it empowers everyone, including the most ignorant among us.
