The pipe of the racism piper is playing and the lemmings hear the call. One after another politicians run to the front of the political correctness cliff and jump off blathering about how the Confederate flag has to come down and even how the next symbol of oppression must also find the dustbin of history:
Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has joined calls to remove a statue of Kentucky-native Jefferson Davis from the state capitol building.
The statue of Jefferson Davis has been in the rotunda of the Kentucky Capitol building since 1936, but it has come under fire by McConnell, GOP Gubernatorial candidate Matt Bevin, and “top Republicans in Kentucky’s House and Senate.”
According to WAVE 3, McConnell gave a measured response to questions about removing the statue, saying, “Maybe a better place for that would be the Kentucky History Museum, which is also in the state Capitol.”
Frankly, I think the Confederate flag flying in the South probably should have been taken down years ago but thanks to democrats like Fritz Hollings up it went.
Retailers lined up and jumped off the cliff as well. Amazon stated it will no longer sell the Confederate flag, but it will continue to sell Communist merchandise.
Amazon sells a huge variety of shirts, posters, you-name-it featuring the hammer and sickle, Joseph Stalin’s mustache, all things Che Guevara, Vladimir Lenin and other colorful revolutionaries who fought to make the world a better place, man. Guevara’s book Guerilla Warfare is on sale in four different formats. In one of the worst genocides in modern times, Stalin forcibly starved Ukrainian peasants in what’s known as the Holodomor, a “terror-famine” that left anywhere from 2.4 million to 7.5 million Ukrainian peasants dead in 1933.
Nazi merchandise? Sure.
Walmart has pulled the Confederate flag but it will be happy to sell you a poster of Che Guevara.
“We never want to offend anyone with the products that we offer. We have taken steps to remove all items promoting the confederate flag from our assortment — whether in our stores or on our web site,” said Walmart spokesman Brian Nick. “We have a process in place to help lead us to the right decisions when it comes to the merchandise we sell. Still, at times, items make their way into our assortment improperly — this is one of those instances.”

If individual people want to fly that flag on their property, who am I or you to tell them what they can fly? Instead of this being about an isolated incident about someone who killed 9 people because he was a racist, this has now ballooned into a national argument about a flag. Never let a crisis (in this case 9 dead Americans) go to waste. If Obama wants everything that he considers to be dividing the country to be put in a museum, then perhaps they should get a room ready for him too.

I agree with most of what you say, but to say that Hispanics (whatever that means) hate the flag is a bridge too far. Although I share your anguish with knowing that we are surrounded by imbeciles with little to no knowledge of our history, I can tell you with complete certainty not all of us who come from Spanish speaking countries hate the flag. In fact many of us who have come from tyrannical regimes respect and revere the flag more than many who have been born and raise here and have been radicalized by the left.

How did we get to this point where a flag, a damn flag, is demonized in order for the left to impose even more political correctness (cultural Marxism) on the nation? Time after time we have seen on the talking heads news channels a photo of the South Carolina shooter with a Confederate battle flag. How many of those taking heads, now demanding the total annihilation of the Confederate battle flag have shown the photos of the South Carolina shooter burning the United States flag? Not even Fox, who is turning more and more left with every passing day, has done that. I’d really like to know who started all this crap.
The left wing could not use the gun “control” mantra for this shooting because the shooter purchased his gun legally using all the “controls” that Obama advocated. So they had to come up with something, anything to blame. While they should have blamed the shooter, nah, that wasn’t going to work.
The North, and most of it’s talking heads, have been disparaging the Southern states since before the not-so Civil War. Nothing has changed. Paint the South as nothing more than a bunch of racist red-necks who want to kill black people. Forget that no one has owned another human being or been enslaved in 150 years. There is not one person alive today that has ever owned another human being or been owned by another human being. Or that today, 150+ years after the Emancipation Proclamation we see more whites being murdered by blacks than the other way around. Ignore reality so that we can, once again, force an action that was not required.

The old flag manufacturer in the United States, Valley Forge Flag Company, has announced it will no longer make or sell Confederate flags. Yes, yes, I realize it is a company in a northern state, but ironically it has on it’s website today that South Carolina is the most patriotic state out of all 50 states. What is next? Will Valley Forge Flag Co. now cease to make Texas flags because it might offend someone of Mexican heritage?
The left pushes their agendas on us and we are supposed to just shut up and take it. If we don’t, we are labeled by some pejorative that ends in “phobia.” But if it is something they don’t like, the ban it, make it illegal, demonize it and those who support whatever it is that they don’t like.
The shooter who killed those 9 religious people didn’t beat them to death with a flag. But Obama’s friend, William Ayers, most certainly created havoc where people lost their lives over a flag that he hated. The U.S. flag.
I have never flown the Confederate battle flag. Never even owned one. But today, the Confederate battle flag has become a symbol of our Constitutional First Amendment and I intend to buy one. If it pisses off the left, all the better.
I also am going to demand that every university, like the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Prarie View A & M, a traditional black university, or high school, like the ones in California, that uses the panther as a mascot be required to change their mascot. Why are public universities and public high schools allowed to use a mascot that I find objective because it reminds me of the Black Panthers/New Black Panthers? The flag of Mexico also flies in front of the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum. Using the rational of the left, we won the war against Mexico, they were the losers, and their flag should be removed from in front of the Museum which is public property.

I agree. We are coming to a time of purging of history. As I said, I don’t care about the Confederate flag and I think it should have been taken down a long time ago but as Gary Miller pointed out (for a different reason) we are on another slippery slope.
