Ted Cruz killed it today taking Obama to task for his decision to arm the Syrian “rebels”

He makes two observations to Obama:
“Number one, don’t arm al Qaida. Don’t arm those who hate us. Don’t arm those who want to kill us. Number two, when it comes to matters of vital national security, the President of the United States needs to come to the American people. It is not acceptable for the president to simply send out staffers to pass on his decisions. He needs to come before Congress and the American people and explain those decisions.”
By arming the “rebels” most assuredly he will be arming al-Qaeda. 7 of the 9 “rebel” groups are radical Islamists:
And one of those supposed non-radical groups is dedicated to fighting only in the Kurdish areas.
So he somehow believes these weapons aren’t going to get in the hands of al-Qaeda?
Give me a friggin break.
What should our priority be?
The President would be better off focusing clearly on the one thing that is in our national security interests: securing Syria’s large stockpile of chemical weapons…We know Assad has used these weapons, and there is good reason to suspect the al Qaida-affiliated rebels would use them as well if they could get their hands on them. This poses an intolerable threat not only to our friends in the region, but also to the United States. We need to be developing a clear, practical plan to go in, locate the weapons, secure or destroy them, and then get out. The United States should be firmly in the lead to make sure the job is done right.
Now that’s talking like the President of the United States rather than a “citizen of the world” as Obama said yesterday.
We didn’t elect him to be a damn “citizen of the world”! We elected him to be our Commander in Chief, the President of this country. Instead he is intervening in wars half-heartedly, leaving a huge power vacuum behind in each country which is promptly filled by radical Islamists.
It’s a disgrace.
Ted Cruz has some simple questions:
- Why aiding the Syrian rebels is now worth our intervention when it wasn’t two years ago.
- How he has established which rebels are the appropriate recipients of this support and how this very limited support will make a material difference in Syria.
- How his team is proactively planning to keep Syria’s chemical weapons out of the hands of either Hezbollah or al Qaida.
Will he answer? Can he?

That people pervert the democratic process by getting out there and voting strikes me as a rather odd idea. Equally odd is the idea that America somehow will become more like it is supposed to be if large groups of citizens can be kept from exercising their right to vote.
What else is being attempted, when things are being done like drastically reducing the days and hours that polling places are open, when voting lines that last for hours are already a highly visible problem?

Let’s not forget that most of the budgets under GW were from a democrat congress, but I don’t think GW vetoed any of them, so they then became HIS budgets.
He USED at least 38 other Social Security numbers. He IS USING the one from Connecticut today. Why hasn’t this ever been investigated, or any of the other numbers he is accused of using?
There are too many instances of info about obama and his mother that are GONE, as if they never existed. This is happening in too many DIFFERENT federal agencies, including the National Archives.
I haven’t read any stories about what the cards were used for, and I never thought about until you mentioned it.
Doesn’t it make you wonder that this didn’t start until the question of obama’s citizenship came up. It isn’t just the paper copies, they want to destroy the film copies. This means that NOBODY would be able to get a copy of their birth certificate from Hawaii. Doesn’t this sound suspicious to you? Stuff like this is going on all over the country, but only in liberal states.
The smaller class that he was in only had 6-7 members, and none of them remember him. Maybe he doesn’t want his life “clarified.” If you were in that size of class, wouldn’t you remember if one of them became president?

I don’t automatically take anything negative about obama and try to make it fact to me. It took me several years, and a lot of reading different stories to come to the conclusions that I have. I am open to anything that might prove my beliefs wrong. Since I don’t belong to any political party, and since I want ALL politicians out, I don’t defend any of them, but I also don’t look for things to prove what I believe if the info doesn’t seem to fit.
It is like the many documentaries I have watched about how the pyramids were built. After each such documentary, I though to myself that this proved that they COULD HAVE BEEN built by that theory, but it doesn’t prove they were. Hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent to prove that something COULD HAVE BEEN. It is the same way with obama’s life. There are a lot of pieces to his puzzle of life. Some people try to force pieces to fit because they think that is where the piece should go. I wait until I find an opening that the piece fits in JUST RIGHT.

I’d like to point out, that if they do this, no one from Hawaii will be able to get a passport or SS benefits, because to get either, you have to have a ‘certified copy of birth certificate’ and if you can’t produce one, you reach a dead end rather quickly.

If Hawaii hasn’t changed their law, that won’t be a problem. They should be able to walk into the office and say they were born there on a certain date, and they will get a live birth certificate. It has been that way with Hawaii for years.

Does it matter that obama cheated. Several voting districts in Ohio gave obama 99% of the qualified voters. Several gave him 100%. One gave him 108%. In at least two places in Philadelphia the vote watchers were FORCEFULLY removed for a few minutes. If all of this happened with the votes for Romney, would you find it suspicious? Would you want it investigated?

That has been debunked. Please show any link to videos of those long lines that lasted for hours. Some of the propaganda media showed lines at some places, but didn’t show a time laps of how long it took them to get in to vote, which wasn’t very long.
One radio talk show host suggested to have the voting districts open for 24 house. That way anyone can stop off after leaving work, no matter which shift they work.
@Smorgasbord: I agree with you that there is something suspicious about his past just not the same conclusion you have which is he is a foreigner. I think it has to do more with shenanigans. Sheriff Joe’s investigation led me to the conclusion that the Kinkos’ BC issue was the result of a bureaucratic screw up on the part of Hawaii. In addition to them being screwed up now, Hawaii had only been a state for less than 2 years when Obama was born so I’m thinking it was worse back then. As for the 38 other SSN’s, if someone has the records of those they should come forward and tell us what they were used for. Why haven’t they? They knew what the one was used for, why not the others? In other words, they need to put up or shut up. As for Columbia, if there is an issue there it has to do with him embellishing his past. To me it is more of a matter of him inflating his resume as opposed to him being “illegal”.
As for Bush’s deficits, to me the only deficits that are “justified” are those that would be used for war or some sort of a national crisis. While the myth of him inheriting a surplus is debunked by the fact that the debt increased every year since ’55-’56 meaning this country had deficits when there was an alleged surplus, it still doesn’t excuse the fact that deficits increased on his watch more than what the wars cost. That was the result of non war spending increases. Tax revenues increased from 2005-2007. I’m not including the meltdown of 2007 for obvious reasons.

The lending practices that the Clinton administration put in place- everyone who wants a home should be able to buy one- set the stage for bad lending practices. My investor was telling people as far back as the late ’90’s that the housing market was going crash at some point because of those practices. Given the economy runs in cycles, we most likely would have hit a recession in 2007-2008 no matter what but the housing market crash made it a lot worse. As for the dems escaping blame, what else is new? When was the last time they were given or accepted blame for anything? When Obama leaves office, I wonder if he will apologize to the country for the amount of money he added to the national debt the way Reagan did when he left office.

If you were to look at any of my past posts you will find that I am very much all about those things and have had numerous debates with Obama supporters here about all three. Obamacare? I have slammed that so many times here it isn’t even funny. I’ve had my insurance rates jacked up more than once and was informed last week they’ll be going up again and that I’ll be losing the coverage at the beginning of the year.

@Richard Wheeler: They were the first branch I checked out. I wanted to go in the USMCR but was a non-swimmer at the time and went USAR instead. I ended up becoming Airborne and served 7+ years on Jump status with a Reserve SF MI detachment. As they told us in basic- Airborne was the Army’s answer to the Marine Corps! Unfortunately for the Army, with the exception of Special Ops, in both Afghanistan and Iraq the Marines were ready to go well before the Army was and Afghanistan was an Army operation because it is landlocked. It was one of the reasons I didn’t care for Shinseki as Army Chief of Staff.
