This might be unconnected to the President’s visit here; but this occurred an hour ago, with the President not too far away (and me living in this neighborhood):
Three people were wounded Friday during a shooting in the Santa Monica College area, law enforcement sources told The Times.

KPCC:
Santa Monica police say a man believed to be the suspect was shot and transported to the hospital, NBC L.A. reports. The college has been put on lockdown, and students not on campus have been advised to stay away.
An eyewitness named Evelyn told KPCC that she witnessed a husky male shooting around noon.. The man was wearing what appeared to be body armor and carrying a long black gun, Evelyn said. He fired at least five shots, according to the witness.
The man told a green car to stop, Evelyn said, then shot out the windows.
President Barack Obama was in Santa Monica Friday speaking at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee. It’s unknown if the shooting is related to Obama being in Santa Monica; his speech was being given several blocks north of the campus, according to NBC L.A.
