President Barack Obama reacted within two days
WASHINGTON — The White House says President Barack Obama’s thoughts and prayers are with Whitney Houston’s family, especially her daughter.
Press secretary Jay Carney says it’s hard not to be an admirer of the singer’s “immense talent.” And, he says it’s a tragedy to lose somebody so talented at such a young age.
Carney said he wasn’t sure if Obama and Houston ever had met.
The 48-year-old singer died Saturday.
He had thoughts and prayers for the Houston family.
So far he’s had no thoughts and prayers for the Kyle family. Chris Kyle died on February 2 trying to help a fellow vet.
ARLINGTON, Tex. — Military leaders, law enforcement officials and thousands of others gathered at Cowboys Stadium here on Monday to remember Chris Kyle, the retired Navy SEAL sniper and author who was killed with another man, investigators say, by a troubled veteran he was trying to help.
In a tribute filled with prayers, eulogies and country tunes sung by Randy Travis, friends and fellow SEAL members remembered Mr. Kyle, 38, as the military’s deadliest sniper, a Navy man who hated the water and a devoted father who walked away from his military career to spend more time with his wife and two children, ages 8 and 6.
“God knew it would take the toughest and softest-hearted man on earth to get a hardheaded, cynical, hard-loving woman like me to see what God needed me to see, and he chose you for the job,” Mr. Kyle’s wife, Taya Kyle, told the audience. “He chose well.”
On Feb. 2, Mr. Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield took the veteran, Eddie Ray Routh, 25, to a remote shooting range in Erath County. According to the authorities, Mr. Routh turned his weapon on the two men, shooting and killing them before fleeing in Mr. Kyle’s truck.
Investigators believe that Mr. Kyle, an expert marksman who survived four tours of duty in Iraq and became known for spotting enemy targets at extraordinary distances, was gunned down at point-blank range by a mentally ill young man he had tried to befriend and help, as he had many other veterans struggling to adjust to life at home.

Whitney Houston self-destructed and her family got Obama’s thoughts and prayers. Chris Kyle was an American hero who died while helping others and Obama doesn’t even know his name.
That’s screwed up.
Chris Kyle wasn’t Hollywood enough for Obama, but Kyle was remembered by those who really matter.

DrJohn was brought up with the concept that one can do well if one is prepared to work hard but nothing in life is guaranteed.

It remains to be seen the depths of depravity, the lack of sincerety, the thoughtlessnes, the incomprehension, the unpatriotic behavior, the lack of Constitutional respect, we will see from this lawn jockey. I, however, have seen enough. Witnessing the slow motion train wreck happening before millions that have taken their Oath of Office seriously, leaves me to believe there is no Check or Balance, other than one man’s patriotic effort, that will save this country. I can only pray that someone will act before we are doomed.

It is abundantly clear to any but the most casual observer that we, as a nation, are being herded over a cliff. You only want to memorialize those you respect. obama’s list of those he wants to memorialize probably now include the one who killed Kyle. He probably wants to give the shooter a medal.
It still amazes me how any conservatives expect obama to do the right thing concerning the military, the budget, jobs, or anything that would HELP the USA. A long time ago I figured out that obama doesn’t want to HELP the USA. He wants to destroy it. People like Kyle are obama’s enemy, and I wouldn’t be surprised if obama REJOICED when he heard about Kyle’s death.
A lot of people have mixed feelings about seeing anyone elevated to the status of a national hero, based on a body count that was achieved as a sniper. I’ll neither judge nor praise the man. It’s sad that the war took him, even after he left it.

@Greg: Let me give you a little insight to the motivation instilled in Chris Kyle, since you are only seeing body counts. If you had ever taken the opportunity to hear him speak, and hear his answer to why he did what he did, maybe you would understand a little better. Chris Kyle knew what his talents were, and utilized those talents to save the lives of others; fearlessly, accurately and efficiently. He saved the lives of our troops, he saved the lives of Iraqi citizens, and in the process ended the lives of many who meant others harm. He did so without thinking about his own safety, pretty heroic by most standards. He wasn’t worried about his body count, he was concerned with reducing the enemy’s body count. In the taking of the lives he took, he saved many many more. That is why he is a hero, for the lives he SAVED.

Chris Kyle was one of the SEALs who publicly criticized Obama for over politicalizing the OBL kill. That therefore made him an enemy of the POTUS because he didn’t tow the party line. He was probably on DHS’s terrorist watch list. Jesse Ventura can probably breath a sigh of relief because he won’t have to worry about Chris Kyle knocking him on his ass again.

As I said in post #7, I will neither judge nor praise the man. I have mixed feelings about the nature of his military profession. I have trouble equating an exceptionally high level of proficiency at it with what I think of as heroism. I might think of him as heroic for other reasons. I just don’t know that much about him.
I suppose some people will chose to read that as a criticism. It’s really not meant that way. I don’t know what all of this has to do with Obama. I think it’s being made to have to do with Obama. Some people want that polarity, with everyone and everything on one side or the other. The world isn’t really like that.

President Obama did not order flags to be flown for either person. On a state level, the New Jersey Governor ordered flags to be flown at half mast for Whitney Houston while the Texas Governor did not order them to be flown at half mast for Chris Kyle. In terms of the President’s statements about each figure, Obama did not directly mention either one, though his press secretary fielded a question about Houston and issued a statement on the President’s behalf.
The country’s value system is screwed up when we idolize a crackhead like Whitney Houston, and then ignore people like Chris Kyle and Marcus Luttrell, and others who have more honor in their stool than O’bamma has in his whole government.
Have you heard about the “litmus test” that is being asked of returning US troops?

There is no named source for the claim, simply an anonymous “former senior military leader”.
Of course the lack of sourcing, and the lack of any secondary verification of the information didn’t stop the Alex Jones Conspiracy Cabal from picking up the story and dashing forward with it. From there, the story has grown legs and is now running all over the Interwebz.
It’s sad how people will throw caution to the wind and completely suspend skepticism in order to give credibility to that which fits their agenda.

If you haven’t checked into getting hearing aids, I suggest you do. I hunted quite a bit as a teenager, and was too close to the the 155 mm howitzers several times when they went off. I tried the in-the-ear type, but they let moisture build up in the ear, and that made my ear itch like crazy.
Most places, if not all of them, give you a free hearing check to see if hearing aids will help you. If they can, I suggest the over-the-ear type. I don’t notice them, and no moisture builds up in my ears. The new electronic ones are adjusted for the sounds you don’t hear, and you don’t have to adjust the sound. I wasn’t worried if others see them, but most people didn’t know I wear them until I mentioned it. It’s nice to hear ALMOST like normal.
