I absolutely believe EVERYONE in any country should speak one national language to facilitate matters but I also believe that bi-lingualism (or better) should BE REQUIRED with no restriction on the second language. That is a deficit in America caused by laziness reinforced with arrogance.
Dink, you don’t need to speak French for most of this. You just need to learn how to utilize the sundry translators available on the Internet. Here’s a one stop link page to several popular translation search engines. Conversely , you can take an English phrase, and convert it to another language as well.
For example the French phrase from Nan G’s link, translated thru InterTran, was:
