Arizona Governor Jan Brewer has said she will now direct her own legal team to defend Arizona’s tough new illegal alien law, in effect humiliating her Attorney General, who seems to be overly sympathetic to the Obama Administration and its Open Borders and Pro-illegal alien stance.
Terry Goddard, Arizona’s Attorney met with Eric Holder, America’s Attorney General who is categorically opposed to the law that he hasn’t read, earlier on Friday.
Governor Brewer issued this statement on Friday afternoon:
Due to Attorney General Goddard’s curious coordination with the U.S. Department of Justice today and his consistent opposition to Arizona’s new immigration laws, I will direct my legal team to defend me and the State of Arizona rather than the Attorney General in the lawsuits challenging Arizona’s immigration laws.
Gov. Brewer attained her post after the previous governor, Janet Napolitano was selected by President Obama to head up Homeland Security, apparently Obama required a harmless ‘Yes’ person in this position since there doesn’t seem to be any other qualifications; however, he may regret that choice because of the hard nosed approach towards illegal aliens by Napolitano’s replacement, Jan Brewer.
Brewer’s most likely opponent in the election this Fall would be Terry Goddard; he led in a poll last winter using him as a hypothetical opponent for Brewer in the Governor’s race. Unfortunately for Goddard, Brewer’s popularity has soared since she took the tough stance on illegal aliens; she is now extremely popular in Arizona as well as nationally. Nearly a third of the states are drafting anti-illegal alien legislation similar to Arizona’s new law as an overwhelming desire is sweeping the nation to secure our borders, preserve our culture, and defend our citizenry from terrorism. Problems that President Obama considers unworthy of his consideration.
With the passage of time, it is becoming more obvious that President Obama is out of touch with Americans on these critical issues and is leading the country according to a template that is counter intuitive to Americans and in no way represents the will of the average American.
