Go McCain!

UPDATE by Curt @1740hrs PST

FOX NEWS PROJECTS: Obama Wins Pennsylvania, McCain Wins Alabama

It’s pretty much over then folks…..we have a socialist as President.

~~~
UPDATE by Curt @1700hrs PST
Fox projects that John McCain has carried South Carolina’s 8 Electoral Votes. Senator Lindsey Graham has been reelected, a Republican hold.
FOX NEWS PROJECTS: McCain Wins South Carolina
UPDATE by Curt @1630hrs PST
FOX NEWS PROJECTS: McCain Wins West Virginia
Fox has projected John McCain as the winner of Kentucky’s 8 Electoral Votes.
Fox has projected that Obama has won the District of Columbia’s 3 Electoral Votes.
Barack Obama claimed Vermont’s 3 Electoral Votes. Again, as with all the very early calls, this one wasn’t really a contest.
~~~

UPDATE by Curt @1605hrs PST

Hot Air:

Mid-day exit polling will skew heavily to the Democrats. We saw that in 2004, when everyone panicked after they showed Kerry winning by wide margins. ABC reports that the black vote only slightly increased from 2004 and will only be 13% of the total vote — lower than most people predicted. Most of the predictions hit around 16%. That may be a huge problem for Obama, if the final numbers bear that out. In 2004, it was 11% of the vote, and went 88% to Kerry.

~~~
UPDATE by Curt @1550hrs PST
Drudge…..remember, exit polls don’t mean.
EXIT POLLS CLAIM ‘OBAMA +15′ IN PA… DEVELOPING…
TOO CLOSE TO CALL AT CLOSE: FL, IN, OH…
MCCAIN KEEPING AZ… DEVELOPING…
~~~

UPDATE by Curt @1535hrs PST

Mark Steyn:

Jonah, there’s no such thing as exit poll data “for real”. As I said right here at 5.22pm Eastern time on Election Day 2004, “the key word in the phrase ‘exit poll’ is ‘poll’: that’s all it is.” So before we all get as high on the exit poll crack as the Obama party will be on John the goat’s testicles, remember the Corner on Election Day 2002:

“Big turnout in New Hampshire—not a good sign… Early down arrows for Dole… Talent losing in MO… Townsend (arrgh!) looking good in MD…”

And that’s just Rich.

The GOP swept NH, Dole won NC, Talent won MO, and Kathleen Kennedy Townsend lost MD for the Dems.

Polls are open. People are voting. Pundits at a loose end should find a goat to sacrifice and read his entrails. It’ll be as accurate.

UPDATE by Curt @1500hrs PST

Nice!

I’m a student at Carleton College who has contributed (financially and with my time) to the Obama campaign. I just got an automated call from Jeff Blodgett, the chair of the MN campaign. The text of the call was:

“Hello, this is Jeff Blodgett from the Minnesota for Obama campaign. Our initial data shows this election is significantly closer than the polls predicted. We are putting out an urgent call for volunteers… We are organized groups to knock on doors at five P.M., or earlier if you can, for our final GOTV operation.” This was followed by different numbers to call based on your residence.

Don’t worry bout the exit polls….remember 2004

Jim Geraghty:

I continue to hear relentlessly positive takes from folks on the ground in Ohio.

George Bush carried Darke County, Ohio, 18,306 to 7,486 with 70 percent turnout. I’m hearing some predictions that turnout there could reach 80 percent this year.

Bush carried Warren County 68,037 votes to 26,044 with 76 percent turnout. I’m hearing that turnout is expected to be higher there, too.

The sense among some GOP folks on the ground is that the turnout in heavily African-American precincts in some of Ohio’s cities has been light today, as of midafternoon, because of so many partaking of early voting. They see that as a reasonably good sign, that the Obama get-out-the-vote operation has hit its limit. These sources have been telling me for a few weeks now that they think McCain will overperform Bush’s 2004 performance and that the Republican candidate’s margin of victory will be greater than the two percent four years ago.

UPDATE by MataHarley @1415hrs PST

Breaking news on Fox a minute ago about the military absentee ballots lawsuit Judge has ruled these ballots must be held “preserved” (neither counted or rejected) until he can hear the case on Nov 10th. Depending on how close the VA election is, and how many military ballots were mailed late to the soldiers, this could hold up a decision on the election.

UPDATE by Curt @ 1230hrs PST

Via Amanda Carpenter:

Ron Jones of Philadelphia told CNN’s Brian Todd he was so inspired to vote he voted more than once.

“It’s time for change, man,” Jones said. He complained about the long lines and said that “I decided to come back and vote a couple times.”

Sure, Jones might have meant he came back TO vote a few times, but wouldn’t it be good for the reporter to ask for clarification? Todd didn’t seem to mind. In fact, he didn’t even blink.

“I think that’s against the law, but it’s okay, all right. Well, thanks, Ron,” Todd said. Then, the camera conveniently cut away.

UPDATE by Curt @ 1110hrs PST

Black Panthers intimidating voters in Philly:

More:

“Just after 12:00 noon, Fox News reported that two black panthers were at one location in Philadelphia “guarding” the doorway to a polling station. One carried a nightstick and confronted a citizen who had gone in to the polling place. That citizen called police (he was interviewed by the Philly correspondent for Fox). The citizen reported that police removed the black panther with the night stick, but the other, who lives in the area, remains near the door.”

CNN not doing their job….shocker!

A man called in to CNN’s Helpline on Tuesday wondering why the network hasn’t reported the Black Panthers who were seen standing in front of a Philadelphia polling station this morning, one of them carrying a billy club.

According to the caller (audio available here), he was going to vote for Obama until a friend told him about this incident. The caller said, “Now Fox has broadcast this, and I want to know why CNN has not broadcast this yet.”

The “Honest and Open Election Hotline ” has been launched by the McCain campaign to help voters find their polling place and report fraud, and intimidation.

The phone hotline can be reached at 866-976-VOTE.

Double voting reported to the hotline:

UPDATE by Curt @ 0815hrs PST

ACORN’s registration of convicted felonsfrom prison:

Tomorrow may set a record for voter turnout in Minnesota, but the Fox 9 Investigators discovered one group registered to vote, who shouldn’t be voting at all. They’re convicted felons, and in some cases they’re registering to vote from prison. How is that possible? Reporter Tom Lyden searched hundreds of thousands of data records to find the answers.

UPDATE by Curt @ 0740hrs PST

And here we go with the fraud. Some Georgians Suspected Of Voting Twice

“This is extraordinarily disturbing,” said Secretary of State Karen Handel.

~~~
A team of investigative journalists from WSB-TV in Atlanta, WFTV in Orlando and WFTS in Tampa and WCPO in Cincinnati compared Georgia’s voter rolls with those in Florida and Ohio and found more than 100,000 people who appear to be registered to vote in more than one state, with no government oversight to catch it.
Video is here.
And some voter intimidation:
And the MSM still hasn’t learned.
It’s 7:30 AM in California and I just came back from voting. I got there at around 6:40 and there was a little bit of a line. It only took me 15 minutes to get in and out after opening time. Friendly people, good environment – there were no people harassing anyone about who they’re voting for or for any other matter.
I saw this white Mercedes with two flags on either side of the backseat windows. Out of the car came this old couple – the man most likely retired, the woman was dressed in a shirt with the American flag on it, had a “God Bless America” hat on her head. What I loved about her outfit – and I’m not sure if it was intentional or not – but she had on a red jacket and she had put a large American flag pin – the very same kind that Sarah Palin wears. Her outfit reminded me of that famous Palin picture of her in her red outfit.
Voted this morning here in Georgia.
Stood in line, in the rain, for 1 hour, 45 minutes.
This is the same place I have voted for 12 years and the longest I have ever waited was 20 minutes.
Huge crowds. Soaking wet.
Things are not always as the media tells us they are.
And Curt, please stop scaring me. 🙁
It took me 45 minutes to get in and out, usually takes ten minutes. When I left the line was going out the door and there was no parking. Don’t know what they will do later, we vote at a conservation office. After turning off a winding four lane, access is a long, narrow drive with about 20 parking spaces.
I stumbled across this interesting blog this morning. It’s written by Paul Marsten, calls it the Marson Chronicles. He is a political consultant that has never called an election wrong in 45 years. He’s predicting McCain/Palin will wind up with 310 electoral votes, landslide.
He discusses the PUMA Factor and how many votes each state needs from the PUMA’S to put M/P over the top. It’s quite encouraging, hope this election doesn’t end his success in calling elections.
He is also updating it as we go along.
For every inch of Rain on election day the Republican Party beats the polls by 2%.
Forecast in VA today – between 3 – 4 inches.
My day was great. I grabbed a folding chair and my news paper and a cup of coffee and waited until 7 when the polls opened. It was a piece of cake. I went home and changed into my running gear and ran by the polling place at 8 AM and there was over a one hour wait.
No line here by me, in and out 10 mins at most. Cross your fingers guys cause either way its gonna be close.
Just voted here in Uniontown/Green, Ohio. Short line, long wait. Bit less organized than usual. People in line were EXTREMELY FRIENDLY. Obama, McCain, Republican, Democrat, independents…all put it down, saved it for the box, and chose to be neighbors; chose to be Americans.
I like my town.
Earlier, wife reports that on her way to work line was out the door and into parking lot. Lot was full of cars and people parking on side of busy street.
Regardless who wins, we can all take pride that so many are so involved in the political process today.
USA!!!
(btw, coloring my thumb purple w a magic marker)
Voted here in my little town in Bergen County NJ at around 7:45am.
Lines were moving smoothly and people were coming in steadily at 8am this morning.
i voted a week and a half ago, we ar all mail voting here. sucks. i love the ritual of going to the polls, but to save money most counties in my state went this way. my heart goes out to all of the line standers. in a way i wish i could be in line with you, i am there is spirit though.
60 miles east of Atlanta, 7 Diebolds(God help us) in use, 3-8 folks waiting. There’s always one or two who decides to bone-up on the election by reading every word on the ballot. The Sec of State has had the ballot posted on the website for weeks. These tend to be the “lake” people. City folks who live on the lake and commute to Atlanta.
Tom
WHAT NEXT?
In his “Milwaukee Puts a Vote-Fraud Cop Out of Business”, John Fund says “Local Democrats don’t take the issue seriously.”
But, I would submit that they take it all too seriously, or at least the consequences for them of preventing it, which is why they go to so much trouble to subvert efforts to keep them honest.
When McCain wins (gotta think positive) we MUST not sit back, but work harder at reversing the damage they’ve done than they do to cause it, or a McCain win will merely be a postponing the inevitable. We are no where near as organized as they are, but we must become so. If not, America as we know it is finished, as is the World that depends on us for the freedom and prosperity that a G-d conscious America ensures.
______________________________________________
… didn’t vote early. My poling place wasn’t crowded. There were no lines, and even a couple of empty ballot marking stations. It took under 10 minutes from entering the parking lot to exiting when I was done.
This is Central FL, and they checked photo ID’s and had us sign for our ballet. Probably won’t be much fraud here. Too bad the Dem controlled areas of the country are sooooo messed up. We really must fix it. If anyone has a right to “take back America,” it’s us!
I don’t like the idea of “early voting” Luva, since when did this become election 2 weeks.
About a ten minute wait this afternoon at my precinct in South Carolina. I’m told there were longer lines earlier in the day.
>>which is why they go to so much trouble to subvert efforts to keep them honest.>>
Agreed. Problems in Philly – no surprise there!
Mike, next election i’m voting for you as president and Curt as ur V.P.
I can see the poll office from my window… No line at all, must be a piss poor turn out here. My number was under 200 so yea.
@Custer: I think Mata should run, I would vote for her 🙂
Yes, I said I would vote for a republican lol. No really, I hope my guy wins, but I have really enjoyed all the debates we have had on here. Thank you everybody. Good luck.
I live in Wylie Texas and the voting booths in my precinct are at a Junior High in the gymnasium. My wife and I arrived at 6:30 and at that time there were 3 people at the door. We sat and smoked a butt and as we did the line grew to about 8. We got out of the car and got in line as more and more people began to arrive. No one seemed to be talking to one another but everything was calm as I watched the sun rising into scattered clouds. The temperature was 58 degrees. Our method of voting was via the credit card style, slide it in the slot, touch the screen. There were two local bond election issues aside from the presidential, congressional etc. races. I voted for the bonds and hit the straight ticket button. We were back in the car at 7:13.
Haha I chose Mike, cause he’s hardcore don’t f** with me republican as president cause no country would test us with his finger at the button, and Curt as his V.P. as the stabilizing Jimini Cricket “always let your conscience be your guide” type. 🙂
Mata though would be an excellent choice as well.
I voted weeks ago via absentee ballot from Paraguay. I am proud to day that 3 of my children voted fort he first time today..all Republican!
Thanks Custer. I accept your nomination and will be glad to serve. Do I have permission to use “Don’t F*** with me” as my campaign slogan?
And notice that Mata is picking up votes from the moonbat. Hardly the best way to get the nomination Mata!
@Mike’s America:
How about Mata for “Secretary of State”? I can see her draining the Foggy Bottom swamp.
Aye Chihuahua: Hey, where were you voting from?? thought the storm had moved on northeast.
I am in Atlanta.
Voted this morning, took about 45 minutes, outside Marietta/Cobb County near Atlanta. There was a line about say, 40 yards long, 80% black and 20% white, no illegals in sight….this precinct was the other way around 4 years ago, but that’s the way things are going in this area…..
Hey, Scott: Hope Ohio is going Republican….especially since Obama is going cause a recession in your state when he bankrupts the coal miners…..
Wonder where all the lines are….are people staying home after all?
What’s going on here?? Me, consider “pal’ing around” with politicians? What a depressing prospect. LOL
Thanks for the “also ran” confidence from some of you, tho. But the only job *I’d* want is the Treasury Sec’y. Yessum… I want to be the real estate and investment banker for the nation, with no oversight from courts or Congress on spending that ever increasing bailout money. *That’s* a job I could get into!
:0)
Ya know, Mike… I’d be a good “swing voter” Veep choice, tho. I’d turn your butt down, mind you. But the invitation would be nice to receive…. LOL
There was a line about say, 40 yards long, 80% black and 20% white, no illegals in sight
Were you asking for IDs? On second thought, don’t even reply…
HAHA Mike, use whatever lines you want. I myself coined a saying Mata seemed to like “Obama is Carter on steroids”
P.S. Mata, you told me to make a Tshirt for it… Well… I one up’d ya. Halloween i went as Rorschach from The Watchmen. Instead of carrying a sign saying “The End is Near” I had my sign from above. I saw to many ppl dressed as McCain with nooses around there necks and what nots that i made it out on the street. LOVED the feedback.
@Steve Rowland:
Southeastern Georgia.
The rain moved out mid morning but the cloudy dreariness remains.
@CentFla: (me 2, btw)
“Were you asking for IDs? On second thought, don’t even reply”
I wonder how long it will take before they scream “disinfranchised!”
And the Cowards on the Right don’t stand up to them. THAT’S why those buzzards are having so much success. And THAT’s why Americans have such a bad impression of the Right. If they would only stand up to the Lefties, and get some solid convictions, we would find out just how cowardly those lying pieces of garbage really are.
Tell me this isnt a shameless add to see on the train, her button has the word “Choice” crossed out.
Im not sure how to image link ill try both but also provide the direct link.
I think Mata would be better as Homeland Security Secretary in charge of moonbats!
Someone has to keep an eye on the subversives and Wordsmith is just too nice to them.
Signs of chicanery in OH? Check out this post on Ace of Spades: http://minx.cc/?post=277365
See comment #5, registered voter was given Provisional Ballot even though correctly registered.
Comment extracted below:
5 SW Ohio voter here.
We had a line out the door this morning. That’s never happened before. Heard that earlier, the line was all the way to the street.
It moved quickly, though.
This year, thanks to Jennifer Brunner’s “reforms”, we had the option of touch-screens or optical-scan ballots. I didn’t realize this until AFTER I’d voted with an optical-scan ballot. There were two lines at our precinct table. I got in the shorter line, not realizing that it was for optical-scan. Of course, filling in all those little ovals took longer. And McCain/Palin were all the way at the bottom, for no logical reason I could see.
Thank you, Sec of State Brunner! Stupid broad should probably be in jail.
As I was folding my ballot to seal it in the envelope, I noticed it said “Provisional Ballot”. What the hell? I had no problem signing in–they even asked for ID, which surprised me.
I just can’t help but believe that all these Brunner reforms are a big Dem scam.
OK here’s the thing
The guy with the nightstick in the video is obviously such a pussy that by God I wish I had the money to fly out to Philly myself and beat his ass.
Makes me want to start a Paypal account to do exactly that.
I hate pussies that try to intimidate nice people.
Especially NBPP pussies that try to intimidate nice people.
Hope I didn’t offend the nice people here but you should know that pussies like that are not the ultimate aggressors in this society.
Obamite Admits to Voter Fraud on CNN’s Live Coverage in Philly
Wow, some ppl just don’t live in reality in the SLIGHTEST.
Article from Michelle Malkins site:
Black Panther intimidation at the polls?; NBPP: “We will be at the polls in the cities and counties in many states to ensure that the enemy does not sabotage the black vote, which was won through the blood of the martyrs of our people”
Personally, I welcome our new overlords.
Here’s an idea of what we have to look forward to.
Roll the tape:
@Mike’s America:
Congratulations, Jungle Mom. I think you did a good job raising your children. Thank you!
Sorry Mike, must have clicked on the wrong name. Been up since 3 am, forgive please.
I just spoke to my brother who is a pollworker in MD (he wasn’t suppose to be on the phone! but wanted to know if I have heard anything). His precinct is heavy Rep within a Dem area (just outside beltway). He said the turnout is very heavy and they count party ID. He says Reps are outnumbering Dems almost, but not quite, 2 to 1. He feels the Reps are doing great in turnout.
Tried to vote before school this morning in New Hampshire. It was an absolute mob scene. traffic cops, orange cones, an enormous line. I turned around; I had no choice! I went after school and the parking lot was almost chock full still. Lots of multiple poll watchers were getting in the way of the voters.
I teach at a Catholic school. McCain won the school election 55% to 44% with Nader getting the rest. I figure the Obama number was that high because we get a lot of kids from Massachusetts.
The local parish had a 48-hour round-the-clock Adoration for the Pro-life cause. My son spent the day working at the McCain headquarters in Manchester where he met Mitt Romney.
My 78 year old mother-in-law is 100% Boston Irish Democrat and moved up here to New Hampshire to be near her daughters. She is voting Republican for the first time in her life: for McCain.
God bless us all!
First exit polling numbers are now in.
Excellent news for McCain/Palin.
Not so much for Obama.
Posted the percentages in the post at the top (latest news slot) about 5 minutes ago, Aye.
Sorry Mata.
I didn’t scroll up.
I guess it is too early but those Ohio numbers are terrible.
What numbers did you see Aye?
Hey all!! We just voted during a lunch break, and it was busy, but got in right away. It feels good to finally vote!!! All I can say is, I’m really, EXCITED!!! I didn’t know how I’d feel today, so am surprised and happy to feel A LOT of energy!!
I made 50 calls through the McCain phone bank yesterday, and left mostly messages. But, everyone I did speak to were voting for McCain. One lady said, when I asked for her support, “Well, of course!!”
I’m not watching t.v. today, but moderately listening to the radio, Medved, Hannity, Rush, etc. Remember everyone, to not believe it when ANYONE is calling the election right now. I heard some were on Fox, like Shepherd Smith, of course (like Alan Colmes calling it on the Hannity & Colmes show LAST NIGHT!!)
Praying a lot, and staying positive, too!! 🙂
@CentFla:
Here are the numbers that I saw.
To me these numbers spell trouble for BO.
YMMV
Photobucket
PS: The positive numbers are showing BO up. If he’s only up 1% in OH and nothing changes I don’t see him winning the state.
McCain camp response to VA judge ruling to “preserve” absentee military ballots.
We are pleased that the judge has ruled to preserve the ballots cast by our men and women in uniform currently serving overseas. This will help to ensure that local election officials do not destroy or dispose of these ballots before the court has had an opportunity to rule on our complaint. The McCain-Palin campaign strongly believes that no military ballot should be discarded as a result of a failure on the part of several counties and independent cities to mail ballots to service members in a timely manner. We believe without exception that the servicemen and women on the front lines protecting our freedoms deserve every opportunity to make sure their vote counts.
-Gail Gitcho, McCain-Palin spokesman
Those numbers could jive with the above Fox breakdown. Remember, the “new voters” they polled made up only 10% of those participating. White males made up 36% of the exit poll. There was no percentage provided for the “late deciders”
Just a different way of looking at the data. But I always thought this would be a close race.
“New Voters” as a “New Voter” myself i have to say, we are the most IGNORANT group of ppl i have ever seen. As my father would say “Ha, funny how the dumbest group in America will control its fate, get ready son… you didnt live through this like i have… All these social programs will come out ie: grants, and you wont be eligible for a single one. Took the republicans years to fix that and fight for more rights, and ur all signing it away in one day.”
Paraphrased of course, mans a better talker then Obama.
I hope that Curt fed the site hamsters well this morning.
Okay… figuring everyone could use a grin…
This one made me roar. I consider it “low” on the harrassment scale, mind you. And somehow, the “creative symbolism” really gave me a guffaw.
BUTTE, MT: Democrats are criticizing a 38-year-old man who parked a trailer load of manure across the street from Whitehall’s Democratic campaign office to protest presidential hopeful Barack Obama.
Terry Reed, who owns a construction and excavation company in Whitehall, parked the trailer near the office on Saturday. He also posted a sign in the manure mocking Obama’s “change we can believe in” slogan as “a load of crap.”
“I think Obama’s plan is just one big old poop sandwich and we’re all going to have to take a bite,” he said.
Suzanne Molyneaux, the Obama campaign’s election team leader in Whitehall, said traffic came to a near standstill as people stopped to take pictures of the trailer.
“People in Whitehall were upset, they were outraged,” she said. “I don’t think Whitehall should be represented as this podunk, ignorant community. There are lots of good people here.”
Reed said he doesn’t plan to move the trailer until after Election Day.
“My only regret is that I didn’t do something sooner,” he said.
Kinda gives new meaning to the humorless Dems, always wanting to cry “foul”, eh? LOL
You won’t see the Bushes this eve or tomorrow.
Per the breaking news at FOX, today is Laura Bush’s birthday. She’s an elegant, classy and gorgeous 62 years young.
WHITE HOUSE TONIGHT
PRESIDENT AND MRS. BUSH:
The President and the Mrs. Bush are having dinner together in the White House residence tonight. We are not expecting to see them on-camera at any point. Today is the First Lady’s birthday. (She was born on November 4, 1946, in Midland, Texas). The White House will provide us “color” on how much or little of the returns Bush will watch later on. However, Wendell Goler has found out that Representative Boehner is at the White House right now, as well as some other TBA guests whose cars are filling up the White House driveway.
PERINO:
If the election is called “early enough”, WH Press Secretary Dana Perino expects to brief at the White House. She says “early enough” probably means 11pm-ish, but she’ll let us know as the night progresses. At a minimum, we expect “color” on what’s going on during the returns here at the White House and some kind of email from Dana when the final result is in.
CHENEY:
Vice President Dick Cheney is in South Dakota. He planned to hunt today; an annual trip for him (with the exception of 2004). We don’t expect to see him on-camera, either.
Wonder where Dead Eye Dick is hunting?? LOL
