This week, as ISIS released a heinous video of the beheading of U.S. photojournalist James Foley, Murphy said that illegal immigrant juveniles who have been flooding across the border from Central America will be like Middle Eastern terrorists in a generation if they do not get amnesty.

“If they’re gonna be refugees, which, some, several of them are going to be, we need to make sure that we have—one, we take care of them, and we create a pathway for citizenship and set up education for them so they don’t become the same problem that we’re currently having in the Middle East—that they’ll be terrorists a generation from now,” Murphy told Iowa Public Radio on Tuesday. Murphy also said the illegal immigrant juveniles, nearly 90% of whom are teenagers, should be treated “like they’re our children or our grandchildren.”

Researchers from the University of California, San Diego, the University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins University maneuvered weapons past the full-body X-ray scanners that were deployed at U.S. airports between 2009 and 2013 – at a cost of more than $1 billion.

“Frankly, we were shocked by what we found,” said J. Alex Halderman, a professor of computer science at the University of Michigan, in a statement. “A clever attacker can smuggle contraband past the machines using surprisingly low-tech techniques.”

Al-Muqrin makes clear that establishing his preferred version of Islam in traditionally Muslim lands is not enough. “If the mujahidin’​s situation stabilizes, they will then pursue the jihad and the liberation [of] all the Islamic countries from oppression and occupation by the Jews and Christians, and will then undertake to revive the neglected religious duty, that of preemptive jihad,” al-Muqrin writes.

Reporters with access to the document, titled the “National Threat Assessment for Domestic Extremism,” note that extreme Islamism does not make an appearance at all in the document. Instead, the document–which cites the threat of domestic terrorism as a “medium-level threat” and predicts this will continue into 2014–lists a wide variety of potential reasons for individuals to engage in terrorism. These include race-based extremism (both white supremacist and black nationalist–even Puerto Rican nationalism), political extremism on the left and right (namely, extreme animal rights activists or extremists on either side of the abortion debate), and lone individuals with extremist but vague political causes.

The report does not mention any reason for the absence of radical Islamism from the list, according to reports, which appears especially peculiar in light of the heightened threat that groups like the Islamic State (also known as ISIS) pose to the United States precisely because of its efficiency in recruiting Westerners to its jihadist cause. As the report only spans through 2013, the absence of ISIS as a formidable domestic threat can be understood, though the group has existed in some form, mostly as an al-Qaeda affiliate, since 2006.

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Police said they’ve never had anything like it – three churches vandalized in the same night.

Someone spray painted them on the outside. It’s the words used, though, that have some people asking if this was more than a prank.

“It was just one word. It said ‘Infidels!’” Father Doug Marcotte said of what was spray painted on Saint Bartholomew’s Catholic Church in Columbus overnight Saturday.

Parishioners saw that, along with the word “Qur’an 3:151” on their way into mass Sunday morning.

“It’s certainly not a warm and fuzzy verse. It talks about the infidels, their refuge being the fire,” explained Father Marcotte.

Specifically, that passage of the Qur’an reads: “We will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve for what they have associated with Allah of which He had not sent down [any] authority. And their refuge will be the Fire, and wretched is the residence of the wrongdoers.”

How much longer until we see beheadings take place on US soil, thanks to Obama’s ignoring the danger of open borders with underestimating the threat of radicalized Islam.
