Back in the seventies when I was a lefty and under the sway, like the new mayor of the city of New York, of various Central and South American marxists, we used to speak of “el enemigo principal,” the principal enemy. In fact, there was a rather graphic (and well made) Bolivian movie of that name by leftwing director Jorge Sanjines. (Clip here.)
Not surprisingly in those days the principal enemies of Sanjines’ film were los yanquis and their dreaded CIA — a bit of a cliché, one must admit, but the idea of having a principal enemy in itself is not bad, if you know who it really is. Identifying your enemy can make you more effective, whoever you are.
And, whether they know it or not, Republicans, conservatives, libertarians, center-right folks, all those who favor smaller government and increased freedom, do have a principal enemy. But, surprisingly, it’s no longer Barack Obama. He is over. He was already a lame duck when Obamacare plucked most of his remaining feathers. The damage he can do may still be serious, but most of it will be reparable.
The principal enemy for the right and the center-right is now Hillary Clinton, the vastly favored frontrunner for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination. She is so far in front, in fact, that her competitors are not even in hailing distance. Hillary is the one who can consolidate and solidify the “gains” of the Obama era in a way Obama himself never could because she is much more politically savvy — Obama was only savvy about getting elected, not governing — and has the backing of her even more politically savvy husband. Hillary is the one who can fully remake the United States into some version of Western Europe or, yet more frighteningly, China, a permanently stratified state capitalism governed by quasi-totalitarian bureaucrats. (We can call this system Soros Marxism, meaning a ruling clique of increasingly rich corporate czars employing a propagandistic veneer of socialist equality to keep the power and wealth for themselves.)
As Roger Kimball pointed out, the New York Times (the very model of that propagandistic veneer) already knows their bread is buttered with Hillary, not Obama. They demonstrated that Saturday with their revisionist article on Benghazi, bent on taking that scandal (Hillary’s Achilles’ heel) off the table for the coming elections or at least seriously defusing it. Republicans would do well to redouble their efforts to make sure this particular obfuscation does not succeed by doing the proper research and communicating the results to the public — succinctly and repeatedly.
Speaking about Candidates for 2016: Rather than arguing against establishment Republican Presidential candidates, we need to encourage as many to run as possible so that they will have to split the progressive primary votes), while at the same time we need to “vet” and support no more than two or three true conservative presidential candidates. Part of the problem in the last presidential election primaries, was that there were too many conservatives in competition who didn’t know when to get out and support a fellow conservative when it became clear they didn’t have the support. Conservatives, constitutionalists and TEA Party PACs need to require, from the conservative candidates they donate to, to band together and throw their support behind fellow small government, constitutional candidate(s). (Including those who yes, defeated them in primaries).
I might mention ,if you allow me, the viscious vetting process should be never repeated,
you all excellent CANDIDATS , running against one oponant which WAS projected as a messiah,
or a must win because she is a woman the first one, ya like the first black was IMPOSE because of color,
the people posess a keen vision of the inner strength they want in their president, NOT A DICTATOR,
they don’t want a repeat of a hasbeen person who was sent away and became so remote to the
responsability of a leader toward her country AMERICA, that the words, SO IMPORTANT, no man left behind,
did no more mean anything after 7 demands to help, which is unforgeteble and unforgive, TOOK AWAY HER CHANCES
TO BE COME LEADER,
and because of it lost her chance to become A FUTURE PRESIDENT OF THIS AMERICA, THERE IS A PENALTY FOR
WHAT SHE HAS DONE,
you left out four people to be killed because of what difference does it make at this point,
telling the people of a potential repeat of the scenario, and the death of more braves who have answered the call for duty in a hater country under constant danger,
no way, NO MORE CREDIBILITY THERE,
this next election must make the now wrongs swich into right, because now the people have tasted the wrong for too long to be repeated even if the chances are covered with more promisses,
this next election must be on radical change and let the conservatives carry the flame, THEY LOVE AMERICA AND KNOW W WHAT SHE WANT FOR HER PEOPLE,
high STRENGTH in A WHITE HOUSE TO BE REGAINING her foundamental aplication of the real not phoney laws of the land REQIRING A 2000 PAGES BOOK WHICH NO CITIZENS HAD ACCESS TO,
AND THE DEMOCRATS WHO NEVER READ IT EITHER, VOTED IN ALONE ON A DARK DAY HIDING FROM THE OTHER IMPORTANT PARTY LIKE SNAKES, AND NOW WORK HARD WITHOUT ANY NEGOTIATION AS IF THEY ARE DICTATOR IN AMERICA,
NOT PRESIDENT, TO IMPLIMENT IT BLINDFULLY,
AGAIN WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE, IT’S NOT EVEN SECURE FOR THE PUBLIC, WHO NOW WON’T TOUCH IT WITH A 10 FOOT POLE,
THIS AMERICA IS THE PROTECTING PILLAR OF THE WORLD, NOT THE SERVANT OF THE WORLD, WHICH THE LEADER TRY TO MAKE IT, AMERICA LEAD BY HER COMPASSION AND HELP TO REMOVE THE TYRANS OF THE GLOBE,
which made this country the special most powerfull because more compassionate and creative
country of the globe by not joining the globe but keeping her AMERICAN IDENTITY FOREVER,
AND PROCLAIME THAT NEVER AGAIN WILL THE LEADER ABUSE THE PEOPLE SO TOLERANT, BY IMPOSING THEIR PREFERENCES FOR THEIR OWN BENEFICES, NOT FOR THE BEST OF THE PEOPLE NOW SUFFERING,
MORE NOW BECAUSE OF THAT BLATANT ABUSE OF POWER ON ALL CORNERS OF THE STATES, AND ON ALL MILITARY, BY SIGNING DECREES, DO IT OR BE PUNISH, PENALTYS ARE AN EVERY DAY AFFAIR,
NO MORE JOKERS WITH ONLY A MOUTH SHOULD BE VOTED IN, BE IT A WOMAN WHO CAN NAME ALL THE LEADERS OF THE GLOBE, BUT UNABLE TO NAME THE BENEFICIALS CREATORS IN AMERICA. no more trashing in this COUNTRY,
no more abusing the people, NO MORE PENALTYS
