Harry Reid: Budget cuts endanger cowboy poetry festival

Loading

Hold on thar, pardner…..

“The mean-spirited bill, H.R. 1, eliminates National Public Broadcasting,” said Reid in a floor speech. “It eliminates the National Endowment of the Humanities, National Endowment of the Arts. These programs create jobs. The National Endowment of the Humanities is the reason we have in northern Nevada every January a cowboy poetry festival. Had that program not been around, the tens of thousands of people who come there every year would not exist.”

Now there’s something worth taxing our kids for….

this man sounds like he is senile. i listened to him the other day and could barely understand what he was saying. maybe he was tired.

his state is one state that i will avoid. people that voted this man back in office, must not be a wholesome bunch, must be a bunch of corrupt, uniformed, liberal people. and to think harry is a mormon. mormon’s are usually very conservative people and vote that way, however, he must be from the liberal mormons ordinance.lol!

A lot of these programs should follow the standard fund raising procedures of other non-profits and the government should cut the money-cord. The National Endowment of the Arts could find enough private donors to maintain their operations.

As for a cowboy poetry festival that attracts 10000 people? 10,000 visitors cannot pay enough money to self-fund the event on an annual basis? The local casinos cannot donate money to fund the event?

Jebus…Harry Nuts must think Washington is one giant personal checkbook.

Check your history..Reid has never supported the Endowments for the Arts. In fact, in the last days of the Bush administration he pushed in the Senate, a cutting and termination of funding..As you reall, one does need to do their history home work, Reid expressed his opinion that the “gay influence into the Arts had corrupted it beyond repair”..homework..Reid tried to bury the Natonal Endowments for the Arts..
