9-11Hijackers1

Trusted Travelers?

Not long after 9-11 I listened to Bernie Keirik speak at a meeting I was attending. He spoke of a “9-12 mentality” and warned against it- warned against forgetting the lessons of the past. His words leaped to the front of my mind as I read this:

DHS questioned over decision to let Saudi passengers skip normal passport controls

A Department of Homeland Security program intended to give “trusted traveler” status to low-risk airline passengers soon will be extended to Saudi travelers, opening the program to criticism for accommodating the country that produced 15 of the 19 hijackers behind the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Sources voiced concern about the decision to the Investigative Project on Terrorism, which issued a report Wednesday on the under-the-radar announcement — which was first made by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano after meeting in January with her Saudi counterpart. According to the IPT, this would be the first time the Saudi government has been given such a direct role in fast-tracking people for entry into the United States.

“I think you have radical Wahhabism in certain elements in Saudi Arabia, and I think to be more lenient there than in other places would be a mistake,” Rep. Frank Wolf told the Investigative Project on Terrorism. “There were 15 [hijackers] from that country, and there is a lot taking place in that region.”

Mighty curious

Only an exclusive handful of countries enjoy inclusion in the Global Entry program — Canada, Mexico, South Korea and the Netherlands. According to the IPT, some officials are questioning why Saudi Arabia gets to reap the benefits of the program, when key U.S. allies like Germany and France are not enrolled; Israel has reached a deal with the U.S., but that partnership has not yet been implemented.

Saudi travelers. Hmm

Any Saudi travelers cleared through the program will be able to bypass the normal customs line after providing passports and fingerprints. The status lasts for five years.

The decision is a turnaround, the IPT notes, from when Saudi Arabia was briefly placed on a list of countries whose U.S.-bound travelers would face higher scrutiny, in the wake of the failed Christmas Day bombing attempt in 2009.

It seems that that has been swept under the rug, as have other experiences:

But Napolitano spoke highly of “the bond between the United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” when she announced the change in January.

“By enhancing collaboration with the government of Saudi Arabia, we reaffirm our commitment to more effectively secure our two countries against evolving threats while facilitating legitimate trade and travel,” Napolitano said.

15 Saudi travelers left this country with a memory none of us will ever forget.

A DHS that looks disparagingly at returning vets and the political right as threats to this country considers Saudi travelers largely without risk.

Odd, especially as Saudi has been identified as the primary source of funding for Al Qaeda:

Despite extensive efforts to limit the distribution of funds to extremists from the Middle East, the documents show deep frustration in Washington with the level of co-operation from governments in the region.

“It has been an ongoing challenge to persuade Saudi officials to treat terrorist financing emanating from Saudi Arabia as a strategic priority,” read a cable from Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State, dated Dec 30, 2009.

“Donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide,” added the document.

The Saudis have recognised that they have trouble policing the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, when it is estimated that millions of dollars are raised for militants who send agents into the oil-rich kingdom under the cover of Muslim pilgrims.

The Saudi interior ministry co-operated when terrorist funding was brought to its attention, but remained “almost completely dependent on the CIA to provide analytic support and direction for its counterterrorism operations”, said a cable from the US embassy in Riyadh. “As such, our success against terrorist financing in the kingdom remains directly tied to our ability to provide actionable intelligence to our Saudi counterparts.”

Vets and those of us on the right are terrorist threats. From the home base of Wahhabism come trusted travelers.

I can’t figure this administration.

Is there any doubt whatsoever that this administration, top to bottom, is focused on the destruction of our country?

The Saudis famously tried to BUY their way out of blame for 9-11-01 for $10 million to NY…..refused.
Later they did BUY themselves entire departments in our finest universities all over this country.
In some K-12 schools a Saudi designed segment of ”schooling” makes Islam the only TRUE religion and forces students to call Mohammad ”the Prophet.”
In a few schools students have been taken to mosques (where the girls sit in back) while they all ignorantly parrot the words making them into Muslims.
Obama hasn’t got a bad word to say about the rich Saudi national who is still serving time for enslaving a foreign-born girl as a sex and housework slave in Colorado….in fact, Obama may pardon the guy!

Bernie Kerik. Once nominated to be the head of US Homeland Security by Bush he unfortunately had to withdraw himself after admitting that he had hired an undocumented house cleaner. OH how the lame stream media persecuted him for that!
After he was indicted by the state of NY for failing to report as income a 250 grand personal loan from a mob connected NJ construction company. Then the Feds went after him for another 250K freebe lying about it (well just about lying about everything) and not paying taxes and well just for being really crooked. They gave him 4 years. The good news is that Bernie will be getting out in Oct of this year.
Nan Obama also hasn’t seen fit to comment on any of the Rabbis who recently got sentenced for child abuse.
here is a list of 99 Rabbis http://wakeupfromyourslumber.com/node/4673

Saudi Arabia has invested heavily over the past 20 years in the insurance of compliance by Washington.

We’d be hard pressed to find many members of Congress through that time who have spoken ill words of the Saudis. They’ve done their job well. We’ve even armed them to do it to us.

50 years ago, there was nowhere near the amount of fundamentalism and radicalism in the Middle East, that exists today.

This is not a Democrat or Republican problem, it is a Washington systemic problem. Obama, both Bushes and Clinton, have all been part of the long ass-kissing line-up leading to the throne in the House of Saud.

IMO we missed a major opportunity to put an end to it when Saddam Hussein was threatening the Saudis while he was pillaging Kuwait. We could have extracted a few pounds of flesh including 99 year oil price stability. But no, that would have been too easy. We saved the day for those radicals, and even put the ruling Kuwaiti dictators back in power without valid or effective quid pro quo.

What’s the point of having a Department of Homeland Security if it is relinquishing it’s reason for being? If monitoring travelers from Saudi Arabia is no longer considered a part of their mission anymore, then what is their mission? molesting little children and grandmothers?

    I can’t figure this administration.

I figured him out before he was elected the first time. If you put all of the things he said while campaigning, it comes out that he wants to change America into the kind of country HE wants it to be.

I expect Iran to apply for Trusted Traveler status now.

    Face reality, Aces fans.
Saudi Arabia bought themselves a President a long time ago.
Hussein had his way paid by his Saudi friends.
Of course they get a free pass. They paid for it.
Zippy takes his orders from the King. See the photo.
And 911 was just collateral damage.
    We are so screwed!

The next attack will be a series o timed, sequence triggered 5-10 megaton “dirty bombs”. The idiot administration will blame if on sequestration ; however, the elements of this attack have been in this country from over two years. The next attack will cripple the economic centers of this country and destroy major cities. contamination will be high and long-term.
Blast damage from a nuclear weapon comes from the overpressure in the air and from winds which result from the pressures. For a 10 kiloton blast at the height where it would produce the most damage, severe damage to frame houses would occur out to 1.6 km and moderate damage to 2.4 km. For a 10 megaton blast, 1000 times as powerful, the severe damage would extend out about ten times as far, to 17.7 km. (Figures from Microsoft Encarta). A 10 kiloton blast would produce a fireball of about 300 m diameter and would cause moderate flash burns (second degree) at a range of about 2.4 km. A 10 megaton blash would create a fireball about 4.8 km and moderate flash burns to 32 km. Accompanying the blast is a burst of neutrons and gamma rays, as well as lingering residual radiation from radioactive fallout.
In addition to the great destructive power of fission bombs, the highly radioactive fission byproducts are released into the atmosphere and spread over a wide area. Radioactive fallout in the form of fine particulate matter is particularly dangerous because it can be ingested, bringing alpha and beta emitters into the body where they can do much more damage. One of the most serious components of the fallout from weapons testing in the deserts of Arizona and Utah was strontium-90.

Bees, a friend sent a picture through Facebook of a young Belgium boy saluting some sitting troops, and it reminded me of this video. I thought of you when I watched it again.

Young Belgium boy (MAN) salutes Canadian troops.

I still get a few tears in my eyes when I watch this. Keep in mind that the, “Eyes right” command is only given for high ranking dignitaries. You will here this boy (MAN) get that command.

Even though I am a civilian, I still SALUTE the flag and troops when they march by. Putting my hand over my heart isn’t enough for me. I want to show the deepest respect for them that I can show them. We should always keep in mind that the ones on the front lines CHOOSE to join the service, and CHOOSE the front lines fighting. They can be in the military and never see any combat. My son has had weekends off almost all of his 20 years in the Air Force. I want the best for the ones on the front lines. This is why I say to them, “Thank you for keeping the payments up on the freedoms your predecessors bought for us.”
