Don’t Dive In The Shallow Water

Loading

We have joined the debate like adolescents cheering their favorite sport team. This debate of Gay Marriage has been manipulated to be a diversion, so that we forget the important issues: issues like our economy, the international failures of Obama, the acquisition of an American bank by China, the fact that we have no budget, Obama’s use of our military as political pawns (“when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained”), the fact that we have a corrupt and racist Justice Department.

Yet, we want to argue the most shallow issue, Gay marriage and the cause of the Gay Liberal, why?

The Gay Conservative is a noble being, who receives precious little recognition. He is not consumed by an issue that may not be the omnipotent answer to all things Gay; he sees through the hype and realizes there are more important issues than marriage on the horizon. Yet, too many of us are being swept up in the Gay marriage debate like it is the pivotal debate point of 2012. The Gay Liberal and the Progressive hucksters are glad to have you so committed to the debate, for you then have less time to dwell on realistic issues like the economic survival of our country and the leadership of a president whose loyalties are dubious at best.

Yes, our wishy washy president, has ever evolving opinions on the issue, but what has he contributed to our country, other than divisiveness, strife , turmoil, and suffering.

You can make waves in the wading pool and practice your different swimming strokes, but you are playing another man’s game and impressing on one, but you may be assured, the Progressives will be encouraging you to continue your silliness of acting like an olympic swimmer in the shallow water.

Skookum, you are correct: this is indeed the most shallow of issues. But the MSM will make Obama out to be an Olympic swimmer.

Just spoke with wifey about this yesterday. Everything is now a diversion. We will argue about anything but what is sending us to the bottom of the abyss. Clearly our future hinges on whether Jimmy has two daddies, not that we are spending $800 million a day more than we are taking in.

Diversion aside(which I agree with that assertion), one has to wonder what his buddies the Muslims will think of this decision. Wow. I hope they don’t find out he eats pig too!

Is the extension of civil rights to a segment of our population a “shallow issue”? I suppose that conservative Christian Conservatives who were against the women’s right to vote, as with the conservative Republi-crats who were against racial civil rights, would have felt these issues were too shallow too.

Another Vet: Why? What will be accomished?

Obama used this issue because it is a win-win for him the way he framed it.
He can be ”for” it “personally,” while the Federal Government does nothing under his dithering leadership.
Meantime, every time a state’s populace votes it vote against gay marriage.
And every time that happens some state level court overturns the will of the people and installs gay marriage.
What gays want is NOT to marry.
I know too many of them and only one pair ever married, male OR female.
What they want are the perks.
The Social Security.
And, as one reader-post pointed out, gay marriage is just a step on a never-ending gay agenda.
They desire undeserved respect.
They desire a pretense that what they are up to is the same as what other people are.
Obama claimed that Michelle formed his opinion of this issue, but I’ve seen the photos of Obama’s ”body man,” Reggie Love having gay sex with multiple partners.
I bet Reggie had as much input as Michelle ever did.
(Yeah, take that any way you want.)

Nan: You get the humor prize today!

@Liberal1 (objectivity):

Is the extension of civil rights to a segment of our population a “shallow issue”?

Obama sez marriage is not a civil right.

Did you miss the memo?

@Skook: Good question. Supossedly the number of them coming here is only 20. There is stuff floating around in cyberworld that there was a request by Napalianto in 2009 for something like 3-4 brigades of Russian troops to help with “civil disobedience” in this country should it be “necessary”. I don’t know if the claims are rumors/paranoia or legit. Either way, this would certainly add fuel to the fire.

It is remarkable that a Civil Rights Issue will now be decided upon by the states, according to Prsident Obama. His personal beliefs on the matter account for sweet bugger all in the greater realm of reality, but it will mean more contributions from gay entertainers and gay Liberals; although, it is all an illusion to gather money and votes while essentially doing nothing. It is all an illusion and a diversion away from real issues thAt Obama wants to avoid like the plague.

Another Vet: that is almost too bizarre to believe, but when you have a moron in charge of Homeland Security who claims that our vets are our biggest security threat, anything is plausible.

@Skook: That’s my take as well. I see they dropped the unemployment rate to an even 8. If we had only discovered the value of getting people to quit looking for work in order to drop the rate earlier, we never would have had the Depression.

Skook: As always, your comments are right on track. Now for the titillating: perhaps “Our wishy, washy president” was misspoken and might have been better described as “Our swishy, washy president”. I for one am glad you didn’t frame this obvious connection with his more joyful ‘side’. Thanks for keeping us on track and ignoring this latest “Alinsky” ploy.

@Liberal1 (objectivity): So you must be talking about Robert E. Byrd, Grand Kleagle of the democrap plantation. Good to have your insightful commentary once again BOHICAman2.

@Liberal1 (objectivity): Marriage is not a civil right it is the union between a man and a woman in the eyes of God. It was after all, Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Did Obama really say his view on gay marriage is ”evolving?”
Or, in finger-to-the-wind pose, did Obama really say his view of gay marriage is revolving?

@Nan G: I think he said Revolting…. or that he’s evolving… soon to reach the big baboon stage.

@CharlieGee:
Nothing Obama says is surprising.
Today he admitted that there are plenty of times he completely forgets about ”the recession!!!”

Well, why not?
Obama keeps so ”busy” playing golf, campaigning, going to lavish parties, expensive vacations and rubbing shoulders with the glitterati like George Clooney tonight and putting his finger to the wind.

Now, be fair to our president. Just think how difficult it would be for each of you to to remember the recession during an exhausting 5 hour work day with only an hour or so for lunch! http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/05/president_obamas_luxurious_schedule.html

Agree 100% it is becoming more clear we are being played from the contraception joke issue belabored at the debate, the ridiculous War on Women, the too-easily photoshopped and mocked Julia, and now the faux-Christian evolution on the road to Damascus gay marriage issue. Obama plans on one ludicrous distraction after another, each so dippy we just can’t help ourselves from spending a news cycle making fun of it.

Fiscal Conservatives and Republicans need to simply ignore the diversionary issues and focus on what is most important to the voters:

(1) The real jobs situation
(2) The Economy and “Main-Street America”.
(3) The housing situation and the corruption that caused it.
(4) The purposeful movement from a wealth creation industrial nation to a low wage service economy.
(5) The tidal wave of incremental infringement of personal rights, and stealing of state sovereignty by unconstitutional executive overreach, judicial activism and congressional power grabs.
(6) The out of control expansion and wastefulness of government.
(7) The financial insolvency of our nation.

Just repeat to the press: “We will not allow you to change the subject away from serious imperative issues that must be addressed, with the same, tired-old political distractions.”

For some time I have said we need to use Obama’s own words against him.
Here’s what he said about ”distractions:”

• “We knew that the closer we got to the change we seek, the more we’d see of the politics we’re trying to end — the attacks and distortions that try to distract us from the issues that matter.” March 2008

• “It’s easy to get caught up in the distractions and the silliness and the tit for tat that consumes our politics.” April 2008

Obama even complained about the entire gay marriage issue in his “Audacity of Hope” book, saying that “the heightened focus on marriage is a distraction from other, attainable measures to prevent discrimination of gays and lesbians.”

Quotes found here:
http://news.investors.com/article/611227/201205111844/obama-launches-campaign-of-distraction.htm

• ” Yes, we know what’s coming. … The same efforts to distract us from the issues that affect our lives by pouncing on every gaffe and association and fake controversy in the hope that the media will play along.” May 2008

• “When we get distracted by those kinds of questions, I think we do a disservice to the American people.” July 2008
