John McCormack:

On Tuesday morning, seven National Park Service employees were seen erecting and tending to a barricade around the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. One NPS employee was operating a forklift. There usually aren’t any NPS employees working at the World War II memorial.

A couple hours later, when an Honor Flight of World War II veterans arrived, accompanied by Democratic and Republican members of Congress, the fences blocking the memorial were easily moved away, allowing the veterans to enter.

But the barriers are still at the memorial, and they’ve been reinforced. This morning, I walked by the memorial and noticed that wires had been used to tie the fences together:

There needs to be a reassessment of the behavior of the National Park Service personnel starting with management. Someone needs to be fired.

Joe Biden backs park ranger who stopped vets at WWII memorial

On Thursday, video surfaced online of Neugebauer, a Texas Republican, angrily lecturing the ranger for setting up barricades to the memorial.

“I’m proud of you,” Biden said, according to his office’s Twitter account, revealing that the vice president had called the ranger to thank her for her service.

Neugebauer told the ranger that the Park Service should be “ashamed” for blocking access to the memorial.

“I’m not ashamed,” the ranger replied.

“I’m proud of you,” VP called to tell the Park Ranger who was chastised by a GOP Rep today at the WWII Memorial.

Rep. Ralph Hall would have used his wire cutters to open this WWII Memorial today.
He didn’t have to.
By the time he got there someone else had already cut the wires!

“This is Chicago thuggery,” Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) told me. “The president is trying to inflict the most amount of pain and suffering. This is not some bureaucratic mistake. This is Chicago thuggery. You try to make people hurt so they don’t resist what you tell them to do in the future.”
“It’s an open-air sidewalk for goodness sake,” Gohmert said. “It’s ridiculous.”
“I was ready to go to jail,” said Rep. Ralph Hall (R-TX). “If they got the handcuffs out, I’d have gone right with them.”
Hall is 90 years old and flew for the Navy during World War II.
