Nine in ten Orthodox Jews say that they support President Donald Trump, according to a poll released Wednesday by Ami Magazine. Moreover, that support appears to have risen dramatically since Election Day in 2016.
Though the numbers from different polls are not strictly comparable, Jake Turx, the White House correspondent for Ami, notes that they confirm anecdotal evidence that Trump not only won a majority of Orthodox Jews in 2016, but has worked hard to expand his support within the community by fulfilling his campaign promises.
Turx writes:
According to a survey conducted by the American Jewish Committee, 54% of Orthodox Jews said that they voted for Trump in 2016. One year into his presidency, 71% of Orthodox Jews supported him, and that was before he commuted the sentence of Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin and recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Then in 2018, in a Tri-State-area poll commissioned by Ami Magazine, 82% of respondents said that they would vote for Trump in 2020. And as this year’s Ami poll reveals, support for the president has now hit a whopping 89%. What this upward trajectory makes abundantly clear is that more and more Orthodox Jews are fans of the 45th president of the United States.
Turx concludes: “It is support that he has rightfully earned because of three years of hard work and genuine results.”

The Jewish community as a whole tends to vote Democratic. According to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, more than 75% of Jewish voters supported Democrats in the 2018 midterm elections, up from roughly 70% who voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 (versus 25% for Trump).
The only demographics in which Trump’s support has not risen is the whiny, crybaby, sore loser, butthurt and illegal immigrant demos. Everyone else sees the nation and citizens doing better
the democraps have screed over the Jewish population for decades, but they always vote of these losers. in WV., during the last presidential election, the signs on the front lawns read “satan or Trump.”
Of those 75% of Jews who vote Dem a majority are SECULAR Jews.
They are so pro-abortion that nearly every other issue is minimized to them.
I grew up around many secular Jews.
Astoundingly, many of them express dismay about the very existence of Israel!
That is, until they need to go there to escape persecution by anti-Semites.
French Jews are leaving Paris for Israel in historically large numbers.
American Jews who suffer persecution have other cities, counties and states they can move to before giving up on the USA.
And, moving they are!
Here, in Utah, I’ve met three families of Jews who used to live in Minnesota (not sure how close to Ilhan Omar’s district.)
The writing was on the wall.
I hope they’ll vote Rep but don’t know.
Only ten percent of Jewish Americans are Orthodox.
@Greg:
12% black
17.8 hispanic
5.6 Asian
Every life matters, every vote counts, every citizen should prosper with equal opportunity and protections.
@kitt:
2.2% Jewish and of those 5.5 million American Jews
10% of the consider themselves Orthodox*
18% consider themselves Conservative
35% Reform
And 30% no denomination or secular.
* According to the Pew Research Center study it is the Orthodox group that is growing.
In the “grandparent” generation, those aged 56-73, only 5% are Orthodox.
In the “parent” generation, aged 28-45, 15% are Orthodox.
In the “young” generation, aged 0-27, 27% are Orthodox.
@Nan G: Nice to know they are not going extinct we lost the 1 Greek Orthodox church remaining here, now the remainders must drive to Greenbay.
I knew a couple of them, good people, their dad ran the best Greek restaurant on the planet, I never had a better Gyro.
@Greg: Ah. Thus the Democrat’s support for their anti-Semitic members of Congress. What is truly disgusted is that there has to be a law against anti-Semitism. Before Obama, this would not be necessary.
@Greg:
Ah…so that vote doesn’t matter.
I’d be more worried about how you’ve lost the Black vote, regardless.
@kitt: One of the things that scared me about moving from “international” So Cal to “provencal” Utah was that I’d miss all the international foods at stores and eateries.
Not so!
Best Greek food on earth here!
And not just if you go out to eat!
Greek stores where the pita is fresh, the lamb is plentiful, all the veggies on the shelves. stuffed grape leaves and lemon rice in cans and freezer.
PLUS:
Siberian food!
Napali food.
Tibetan food.
Indonesian food.
Really foods from everywhere.
Even reasonably priced caviar from Eastern Europe.
@Nathan Blue: Democrats have imported more illegal immigrants than there are Orthodox Jews. Democrats make no secret where their loyalties lie: to themselves, citizens and country be damned.
