Wolf Blitzer: So, why won’t the White House reveal the text of this Iranian deal?

Erika Johnsen:

That the rest of the P5+1 group doesn’t want it put out there is the official story, but I doubt The Most Transparent Administration, Evah minds much — it can hardly hurt if the whole thing just happens to look a little more hardcore than it really is, eh? If Tehran is making out that the White House’s comments are meant for positive optics in the United States (read: This deal is super-duper tough, and there’s no need to push for any further economic sanctions), while the White House is making out that Tehran’s comments are meant for positive optics in Iran (read: We aren’t really giving up bo diddly on our nuke program)… A little text could be a useful clarification here, no? (CNN) — Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif insisted Wednesday that the Obama administration mischaracterizes concessions by his side in the six-month nuclear deal with Iran, telling CNN in an exclusive interview that “we did not agree to dismantle anything.”

As long as Obama can keep the actual agreement secret there’s no way to tell who’s lying….Iran or Obama/Kerry.
And Obama used his long-familiar straw man to bully Congress:

If certain members of Congress want the United States to take military action, they should be upfront with the American public and say so.
Otherwise, it’s not clear why any member of Congress would support a bill that possibly closes the door on diplomacy and makes it more likely that the United States will have to choose between military options or allowing Iran’s nuclear program to proceed.

No.
I often ask, whose side is Obama on?
Well…..
Obama’s stand against sanctions is utterly illogical since the only possible path to a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear threat that Obama has is through the pressure of tough economic restrictions.
By loosening those sanctions signed in November, Kerry lost a lot of that leverage.
But by staging an all-out effort to stop a bill that would not go into effect until after the current process is seen to have failed, Obama is taking Iranian threats about ditching the negotiations so seriously that he has become Tehran’s hostage…..or secret ally.
The problem is not just Obama’s over-the-top-rhetoric.
Obama has tried to brand all those calling for more pressure on Iran as war-mongers.
And that only makes sense in the context of a foreign-policy shift in which Obama will seek to weasel out of his commitment to force Tehran to give up its nuclear dream.
So, Wolf would do well to ask a follow-up after asking WHY not release the text of this deal……he needs to find out whose side Obama is on.

Do you really have to ask what side Obama is on? With whom he stands?

Don’t listen to his words; watch his hands.
