With Professor Bumbles Complaining to the World That He Doesn’t Like His Underlings Walking Back All the Strong (Deranged) Statements He Makes, His Befuddled Spokesidiot Tries a New Strategy: Pretending She Doesn’t Know What He Said At All

by Ace

Just might work.

First, from America’s Paper of Prophecy:

So over the weekend, Joe Biden lied again. Or confabulated. He is a senile old man and he is constantly inventing exciting new details about his past, all of which paint him in the heroic light he’d like to remember himself in when his life flashes in front of his eyes in a short while.

It’s unclear how much of this is deliberate, conscious lying and how much is just his deteriorating brain misfiling his old daydreams and fantasies as actual historical facts about himself.

The latest claim was that he was “appointed” to the US Naval Academy at Annapolis in 1965, presumably to get his college education before serving as a naval officer.

The problem is, besides the fact that no one has ever heard of this before (including Joe Biden, who has never once mentioned it before, despite all the bragging he does about himself, including in his biographies): He graduated from college in 1965.

So why was he “appointed” to Annapolis? For graduate studies? So he could get his graduate degree before serving as a graduate-degree holding lieutenant j.g.?

Also, another small problem: Annapolis doesn’t offer graduate degrees at all.

What the actual fuh?

President Biden told graduating midshipmen at the Naval Academy Friday that he applied to the school in 1965 — but a quick check of his biography shows problems with the story.Biden said he applied to Annapolis with a letter from then-Delaware Sen. J. Caleb Boggs, but the year he cited — 1965 — is the same year he graduated from the University of Delaware. The academy doesn’t offer graduate degrees.

“I was told the Class of ’72 is here. I was appointed to the academy in 1965 by a senator who I was running against in 1972 — never planned it that way. I wasn’t old enough to be sworn in. I was only 29 years old when I was running,” Biden said.

“He was a fine man. His name is J. Caleb Boggs,” the president went on. “I didn’t come to the academy because I wanted to be a football star. And you had a guy named [Roger] Staubach and [Joe] Bellino here. So I went to Delaware.”

Oh My Stars and Garters, he’s back on the Football Hero Fantasy.

Even the leftwing Huffington Post, in attempting to defend Biden from “rightwing bloggers,” offers the feeble defense that Biden did play football for the University of Delaware — Briefly. As a freshman. He never played varsity.

He routinely talks about “playing” other colleges but what he really means is that Delaware University played those colleges while he cheered from the stands. Or watched on TV.

But yeah, he was gonna go to Annapolis and be the next Roger Staubach.

Bellino and Staubach are the only two Navy football players to win the Heisman Trophy as the best college football players in America. Bellino won the award in 1960, while Staubach did so in 1963.”But all kidding aside,” Biden continued on Friday, “the best line of the debate was after it’s all over, the announcer, the questioner — who was a good guy, but supported my opponent, who was a good man as well, I might add — and he said, ‘Sen. Boggs, is there anything else you want to say?’ And he said, ‘Yes, just one thing.’ And he took the microphone. He said, ‘You know, Joe, if you accepted my commission to the — my appointment to the academy,’ he said, ‘you’d still have one year and three months’ active duty and I’d have no problems right now.'”

It’s unclear if Biden has told the story before, but it surprised political journalists who have covered his many campaigns and his presidency. Biden’s 2008 autobiography “Promises to Keep” does not mention the Naval Academy.

Spokespeople for the White House and academy did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for additional information.

Or later. As we’ll see.

The US military was heavily involved in the Vietnam War by the mid-1960s and had Biden attended the academy, he would have had to serve in the Navy upon graduation.

Here’s a reason to doubt that Biden sought a commission at Annapolis: He sought a string of deferments to get him out of service in Vietnam, claiming he was unfit for service due to asthma.

Which also would have kept him out of Annapolis. Because, get this: They don’t let you into the military service academies if you will be unfit to subsequently complete the required military service.

It’s kind of a package deal, see.

Biden received five student draft deferments during his four years at the University of Delaware and subsequent three years at Syracuse University College of Law.After Biden graduated law school in 1968, he reportedly was deemed unfit for military service by citing childhood asthma. His memoir doesn’t mention the condition while describing his football exploits or his work as a lifeguard. A report released in November by his doctor also doesn’t mention asthma.

So Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about this startling new revelation about the 79-year-old man, about whom we thought we’d heard all the anecdotes there were to hear, and about whom we thought we’d read all the tough-guy military-adjacent stories there were to read.

And Karine Jean-Pierre is no dummy. Well she is very much a dummy. She’s stone-cold stupid. She’s a turnip.

But in this moment she’s no dummy. She remembered that her boss, the Fake President, is getting very angry about his underlings correcting his stupid blunders and gaffes, and she doesn’t want to get fired and have to go work for Joy Reid again.

She says she can’t comment on this startling new Almost In War Story of Joe Biden’s, because she just didn’t hear about it.
