If an American consulate had been attacked and four Americans including the ambassador slaughtered on George W. Bush’s watch –on 9/11, no less– the outrage broadcast over the nation’s elite media would have been intense and round-the-clock.
Had George W. Bush then responded to those events by jetting to Vegas for a fundraiser and campaign rally marked by a rote and emotion-less nod towards the victims and a callous transition to the difficulty of campaign life for political volunteers, well, the hysteria that would have followed would have melted wires.
Because Barack Obama is the MSM’s favorite president ever; however, when these events followed that outrageous attack on Wednesday, the Manhattan-Beltway media did not even pause from their unremitting attack on…Mitt Romney, of course.
When the President compounded the day’s fiasco by announcing to a stunned foreign policy elite via Telemundo that Egypt was not an “ally,” much of the MSM didn’t even bother to note the pratfall, nor the fact that it was juxtaposed with the President’s chest thumping dismissal of Mitt Romney as as “shoot-first, aim later” candidate.
It was as though Jimmy Carter had campaigned on his hostage release negotiation skills in 1980, or Bill Clinton on a chastity platform in the mid-terms of 1998.
Perhaps the pressure on American media from declining ad sales and dwindling circulation and viewership has caused a collective crack-up. The elite media have always been left but rarely have they been so collectively delusional.
By Thursday night the MSM’s effort was underway to validate their shared embarrassment by proclaiming that Mitt Romney was “toning down” his criticism of President Obama even though the Republican nominee blasted away at the President’s assault on defense spending in the day’s one open media event. CNN, NBC, Politico all relayed their “toned down” judgment despite the obvious compounding of Wednesday’s display of bias transmitted thereby.
It is a collapse. A complete collapse. As Mark Steyn said on my show Thursday (the full transcript of that interviw is here), the MSM is “acting like a deranged, drugged up mob.”
And everyone but the media knows it.
What’s probably melting fastest is Romney’s position in the polls. I’m guessing that the terminal nature of the trend will be unmistakable by the middle of this coming week.
The transparent attempt to politically exploit a crisis and a tragedy during a moment when national unity was called for was more than a political miscalculation. It was a revelation.

I think that a President should finish and leave public appearance events (as Bush did,) and cancel, reschedule or at least delay campaign event’s when something important regarding National Security takes place. Such as the murder of our Ambassador and the staff under him, and the wanton violation and destruction of our sovereign embassies. The arrogant, narcissism of this CiC, who can’t be bothered with normal office duties while campaigning, (such as daily National Security meetings discussing the possibility of embassy attacks on on the anniversary of 9/11, and lack of common sense to send out danger warnings on it’s eve,) reveals volumes about the incompatibility of this man’s attitude with the sacrifice and seriousness required to serve in the Office of the President of these United States.
It is now apparent that the only one more stupid than P-POTUS and Shrillary, is Susan Rice. Amazing to be a woman ambassador representing just another “stupid” (islamo context) arrogant woman who belongs in a hajib and not telling muslim men what to do, what to think, and in denial of “realville”. The most racist people in the world are muslim men. Try asking them what they think of the sub-Saharan black Africans. Now consider that our Egyptian ambassador to the Muslim Brotherhood is not only female, but she is additionally of black African extraction.
Good intentions are of no consequence to this idiotic regime. The only thing of consequence in the Middle East is 7.62 (3.08) mm, boat-tail, full metal jacket, hollow-point delivered at 2000 fps.
One thing many people are overlooking here. Even with the Times Square bomber, the attack on our Army by a member of their own, and many others, liberal/progressives “in the tank” for Obama have declared that Obama has protected us from terrorist attacks, and most notably, from Islamo-terrorist attacks.
Now, that might just be words, along with a willingness to cover their eyes and ears whenever someone suggested “Islamic terrorist”, but they still insisted America was free from such hatred and violence. Because of Obama.
No longer. There can be no alternative viewpoint this time. Islamic terrorists attacked an embassy, killed four others related to the Libyan consulate, and unrest and protests(violence seems only a matter of time) in numerous others.
Of course, the left is pushing the theme that it is all because of some film, but that idea holds very little water. So, the alternative viewpoint is being pushed, but it doesn’t mean much, considering the entirety of the evidence.
Obama is not keeping Americans safe. Scratch that bullet point off of his list of “accomplishments”.
