I am sure you have heard of the Russian show of naval force in Havana, Cuba. That’s right. Putin is sending the United States a stern, serious warning that it is ready to use nukes. Guess what? This is some bullshit propaganda. Let me explain.

Let’s start with this CNN report from last year — July 15, 2023 to be precise. Sound familiar?

Oh my God!!! The Russians are coming. Last I checked, Russia had never severed relations with Cuba — a country it has supported since the 1960s. Now, it is true that this visit by a Russian ship last July was the first in a long time, but it is not unprecedented.

Okay? Now, take a look at the current media hysteria.

U.S. hypocrisy is staggering. We’ve been conducting military exercises with Ukraine for years. Here is what we did in 1997:

On 25 August 1997 NATO warships from Turkey, Greece, Italy and the United States and PfP affiliates Bulgaria, Georgia, and Romania arrived at the Ukrainian Naval Forces’ Donuzlav base in western Crimea to join Ukrainian ships in the first NATO-sponsored Sea Breeze 97 exercise, which would field 20 ships and 300 marines over eight days. In an eerie echo of 2013 events, although invited, PfP member Russia declined an invitation from Ukraine’s Defense Ministry to participate, considering the exercise’s original scenario—NATO forces assisting Ukraine in combating armed separatists—too confrontational. Sea Breeze 98, in which Russia participated, was held in Ukraine in October–November 1998 near Odessa, not in Crimea.

Then there is Sea Breeze. The U.S. has held an annual naval exercise with Ukraine in the Black Sea since at least 2007:

Sea Breeze 2007 was a joint military exercise between the United States and Ukraine that took place in the Black Sea and southern Ukraine in July 2007. The exercise was the largest multinational naval exercise ever held in the Black Sea and involved more than 3,000 personnel and over 300 pieces of military equipment, including warships, combat aircraft, and troops. The exercise also included land maneuvers in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions of Ukraine.

Here is a video of U.S. Marines landing on Ukrainian beaches as part of Sea Breeze in 2016. How upset would U.S. politicians, not to mention military folk, be if Russia landed its marines on beaches in northern Mexico?

And yet, when Russia sends two ships to Havana, we shit the bed.
