Bookworm:
’m not a Bill Maher fan, but he occasionally shows an intellectual honesty that makes it worthwhile to keep an eye on him. Last week, he exposed Leftist hypocrisy about racism, when he got Leftist guests to denounce “racist” pronouncements from Paul Ryan, only to reveal that he was quoting Michelle Obama.
On Friday, in the wake of the Mozilla scandal (firing its brilliant and effective CEO for the fact that, in 2008, he supported the same view ofmarriage that Obama and the Clintons claimed to support), Maher once again went off the reservation. In discussing the furor against Eich, he came out with what must be, to the Left, an unpleasant truth about the strain of thuggery that runs through the gay professional class:
During the online-only post-show segment, Maher, 58, asked his panel of contributors about their thoughts on the tech wizard’s decision to step down as Mozilla’s CEO after facing backlash for supporting a California same-sexmarriage ban effort in 2008.
“I think there is a gay mafia,” Maher said. “I think if you cross them, you do get whacked. I really do.”
Let me add some specificity to Maher’s thought. We already know that organized ideological thuggery took Eich down, but I’d like to focus on the mentality that drove the anti-heretic hunt. CNET, which covers the tech world, has apost about the Eich resignation. What struck me about the CNET article was a comment from the man who started it all — a man who said that, if only Eich had announced that the re-education had been successful and then kept his mouth shut, then everything would have been okay (emphasis mine):
The wildfire that brought Eich down was sparked in part by Rarebit developers Hampton Catlin and Michael Lintorn Catlin, who as married gay men took Eich’s politics very personally, removed their app from the MozillaMarketplace, and called for Eich to apologize or resign.
Hampton Catlin on Thursday, though, called Eich’s resignation “the worst kind of victory.”
“We never expected this to get as big as it has, and we never expected that Brendan wouldn’t make a simple statement. I met with Brendan and asked him to just apologize for the discrimination under the law that we faced. He can still keep his personal beliefs, but I wanted him to recognize that we faced real issues with immigration and say that he never intended to cause people problems,“ Catlin said in a blog post Thursday. “It’s heartbreaking to us that he was unwilling to say even that.”
Translated: If only Eich had recanted, publicly apologized for all gay suffering throughout America (because up until a decade ago, no one had even thought of gay marriage), and then kept his mouth shut , our kapos would have released him from the gulag and given him tacit permission to hold his beliefs, as long as he never acts on them in any way in the future.
So sad that it blew up in their faces.
But, that said, I have known dozens of gays well enough to talk as neighbors.
By and large their existence is a miserable one punctuated by very few moments of excitement.
One even described his days as waiting and waiting with no hope of ever getting what he hoped for.
Let me say this about the bookworm’s quote: If only Eich had recanted, publicly apologized for all gay suffering throughout America; non-gays are NOT responsible for all the suffering gays endure throughout their lives.
Gays are.
If every non-gay in America ”recanted” gays would still be miserable most of the time.
It’s a real oxymoron that they self-label as ”gay.”
@Nanny G: I agree. I’ve pointed out more than once that they are not ‘winning’ a war on anything. Most gays don’t even support the ‘gay’ movement. The last thing in the world most gays want to do is ‘come out’. They can live a half way normal life until they come out, it’s mostly downhill from there.
@Nanny G: Queer is far more accurate — and IS NOT an oxymoron!
For decades, homosexuals have lamented that they were expected to conform to the values of the “Christian” radical right. “We only want the right to live our lives, as we choose, in the privacy of our own homes.” was the rallying cry. But with their ability to do that, they then changed the goal posts. “We only want the ability to legally marry” to which they added the caveat “the person of our choice.”
But state after state put “marriage between one man and one woman” referendums on their ballots and the voters of those states, acting in accordance with our Constitution, voted to preserve the traditional form of marriage. That was not good enough for the Gay Gestapo. So they sued in our courts of law, finding in California a homosexual judge who stood to implement his own personal opinion into his decision on Prop 8. As a man who had had a same sex partner for years, the judge should have recused himself due to his own self interest in the case, but he did not, and the voters of a majority of Californians was thrown to the wolves.
The gay lament “We just want to be able to live our lives in the privacy of our own homes” has now turned into a fascist movement that intends to punish anyone who doesn’t march lock step with their agenda. The Mozilla case is just the beginning. Heads will roll, if not literally, at least figuratively. Jobs will be lost, families will be sued, schools will be forced to teach homosexuality as a normal condition of mankind, teachers will be ridiculed if they adhere to their own religious beliefs, companies will be boycotted and the gay lobby will set out to demean and destroy anyone who doesn’t agree with them.
And what is the answer to this clear example of blatant fascism? Do Christians start fighting back, using the same tactics as the radical gay movement? Boycotts? Outing gays that do not want to be outed? Ridicule? Rebuke? Retribution?
I suggest the radical gays have crossed the Rubicon and there will be no turning back. We have seen the first cannon shot in the culture war that will determine if we remain a free nation where citizens are still allowed freedom of speech and freedom of religious belief.
@retire05:
We may even get to the point that gays require gays to come out. I mean how can we all kowtow to gay persons if we don’t know they’re gay. I suspect about 80% of gay persons do not want it known that they are gay. I suspect they are already miserable enough.

@Redteam:
The Left got there first, if you recall.
(Well, actually, the Nazi’s got there first with their cute little pink triangles.)
They (the Left, not the Nazis) have had a campaign to out any gay who does NOT say he’s pro-gay marriage, especially if he’s a Republican.
They even had web sites devoted to helping local gay men set up these suspected closeted gays.
I don’t know if all that infrastructure still exists, but Google Cache probably still has echos of it.
@Redteam:
Coming out as gay, whether by choice or by force, kinda belies the “We only want the right to live our lives, as we choose, in the privacy of our own homes.” meme, doesn’t it?
Who the hell cares? If two guys live next door to you, can you be sure they are gay, or are they just two guys who find financial benefit is sharing a home together in an economy that’s tough on everyone but the hated 1%? How about two women? Are they sharing a home to be able to have more disposable income by sharing expenses? Are we to assume they are lesbians simply because they live together?
The radical gay movement, as started by the Gay Liberation Movement, was NEVER about same sex marriage. Like any other radical group, it was about power and intimidation to gain power. Now we are seeing the result of those actions. If you are Christian, and subscribe to Biblical teachings about homosexuality, you are subject to be scapegoated by the radical left wing faction of the gay movement.
Antonio Gramsci is smiling from his grave.
@retire05:
yes it does. As you’ve seen in my discussion with George, gays have not ‘gained’ anything in the gay movement except the right to be used as a tool of the Dimocrats. They don’t have anything now that they didn’t have before it all started except that they get to carry a ‘gay card’ in their wallet.
