William A. Jacobson:

According to Jonathan Capehart of WaPo, there is a very dangerous ad running by the RNC.

I have seen this ad numerous times, and didn’t think it was that great:

Capehart, however, sees danger, It’s not OK to ignore this pro-Romney ad:

… what bothers me is that last line spoken by the narrator as we see a black-and-white still image of a downward looking Obama.

He tried. You tried. It’s OK to make a change.

Millions of Americans were swept up in the drama of the 2008 presidential contest and were proud to cast a ballot that helped elect the first African American president of the United States. Doing so was and will remain one of our nation’s crowning achievements. But there’s no denying that many of those same millions have soured on Obama because of what they believe he hasn’t been able to achieve. Yet, they are conflicted…

So what’s the problem here?

The danger, according to Capehart, is that this narrative may remove the race card as a factor (emphasis mine):

Oh no! People may vote for the person rather than his race! Only those who vote for a “Black” president are racists. Those of us who vote for the best candidate can never be racests.

Call me a racist then since I wont be voting for the Pretender in Chief.

The battle is not over the black vote, itself, that is in the bag for the black candidate at around a 90+% level.
The battle is for the people who allowed ”white guilt,” along with a nose-holding other main choice to go for a change.
And, from what I am hearing, that’s going to happen.
We used to have quite a few ”blue dog” Democrats (fiscal conservatives, social liberals) in our neighborhood.
Seems many of them are not going for Obama over Romney!
Yeah, real Democrats going to vote for Romney.
Seems they are not as afraid of Romney’s social conservatism as they are of Obama’s version of fiscal liberalism.

I imagine that Martin Luther King, jr. would be just as proud of an America that can vote out a black man as one that can vote one in.

Curt Speaking as a Dem. I think it’s the best and smartest add I’ve ever seen Repubs. run.
OTOH Dem. add with Romney singing is grating and gets old very fast.
Nan What do you think of this huge stock rally we’re experiencing? R.E. market has clearly bottomed. BHO doesn’t have much that’s positive to talk about. Watch him take credit for stock and R.E. rallys.
J.G. You go back and forth from calling me a lib/prog to a traditional lib. to a socialist to a statist. Honestly would rather talk Notre Dame -Michigan football with you.

“He tried. You tried. It’s OK . . . to make a change.”

You’re really missing the patronizing tone of that statement?

@Richard Wheeler: Nan What do you think of this huge stock rally we’re experiencing? R.E. market has clearly bottomed. BHO doesn’t have much that’s positive to talk about. Watch him take credit for stock and R.E. rallys.

The market goes up and down but it is mostly the same dollars chasing where the best investments might be.
New dollars are not coming in as they will need to do and soon.

As to the housing market, Reuters (among others) reports “new U.S. single-family home sales in June fell by the most in more than a year and prices resumed their downward trend, suggesting a set back for the budding housing market recovery.”

We have seen Obama’s propping up foreclosed homes from being sold as hurting many homeowners’ associations which run on regular dues and only special assessments in case of unforeseen big expenses, like a new roof.
Most people who ”walk away,” stop paying their mortgage, their property taxes AND their HOA dues.
Condo associations end up scraping along at a subsistence level.
Some even raise the dues on everyone so as to get enough to cover day-to-day expenses while the deadbeats pay nothing but enjoy the condos for free.

There was a time I looked at Orange County as the bad example.
27% of all condos are filled by such deadbeats there.
But, with the latest deadbeat here in OUR condos, we beat that!
Almost 1/3rd of our condos are inhabited by long-term deadbeats.
Some haven’t paid dues/taxes/mortgages in years.

Obama actually bragged about being so lenient on mortgage holders who are behind!

NanG. I’m a homeowner in San Clemente. We pay 2 assoc./maint. dues which I hate. However delinquencies running at only 2-3% Homes are over 95% owner occupied. In condo’s. seems to be non-owner that run up delinquencies on dues.
It’s your friends and their guests at CNBC claiming the R.E. turn. Heard Cramer today say it was by far the strongest element in the economy.
As discussed with Mata, if the stock market continues to go Up (currently within 10% of ALLTIME HIGH) it really doesn’t matter why. People are making money. BIG ?? When to get out.

Opening ceremonies are supposed to be awesome.Mitt won’t be getting a prime time spot.

If that is what you think I am doing, Rich, then you are failing to comprehend my points. Maybe it’s my fault, maybe it’s yours.
