The scandal at the Veteran’s Administration (VA) is growing every week. As each new VA hospital is revealed to have made sick veterans wait so long for care that many died while waiting, and then subsequently covered up the truth, we all must come to grips with the fact that this is Obamacarewrit large.
If you hadn’t been paying attention to how badly Obama’s government healthcare system is treating our elderly and sick veterans, you should. Because with Obamacare this sort of criminal behavior is coming to you and your sick relatives whether you served in the military or not.
Essentially what has been happening is that employees, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare pros at the VA have been allowing themselves to have grueling four-hour work days while wait times for their services have naturally been growing exponentially–after all there are fewer hours in a day that patients can be served if the docs and nurses only work four hours a day!
The cover up is the secondary part of this scandal. The newest report at CBS has only the latest example of this disgusting state of affairs.
A Veterans Affairs employee at the VA Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming, has been placed on administrative leave after CBS News obtained an email showing an employee directing his staff on how to game the appointments system to make it appear as though veterans were being seen within the VA’s 14-day directive. The email, written by Telehealth Coordinator David Newman, a registered nurse, describes how patients at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center are always listed getting appointments within a 14-day window, no matter when the appointment was first requested, and no matter how long the patient actually waited. The memo admitted, “Yes, this is gaming the system a bit…” because “when we exceed the 14 day measure, the front office gets very upset, which doesn’t help us.” The employee further instructs staff on how to “get off the bad boys list” by “cancelling the visit (by clinic) and then rescheduling it with a desired date within that 14 day window.”
This is what happens, folks, when government is in charge of everything and out of control, unaccountable government employees start trying to make their own lives easier quite despite that it will kill people.
I am not sure if anyone remembers, but Obama once boasted that the ACA would insure quality medical care to everyone just like the VA health care and the Indian Health Care system. It looks like Obama didn’t lie about that! Looks like we are all in line to be treated like veterans.
This is exactly what many of us warned about with this attempted socialist takeover of medicine. I just retired from the army in 2012, and discovered the VA “lost” my entire medical records file, except for my retirement physical. Thankfully, I kept copies of all my medical records every time I PCS’ d, because my very savvy platoon sergeant taught me as a young lieutenant to keep copies of everything the army gave me precisely because of how often things get lost.
Socialist garbage never works. Obamacare will continue to be a massive failure no matter how much they try to guild this socialist turd.

I have a friend who initially ‘thought’ O care would be a good thing…I talked with her at the time about the pitfalls of this horrible legislation, now law. She is what we call low information. She is at least receptive of the ‘correct’ info.
I didn’t speak with her for some time and did so recently. In the conversation I asked her how Obamacare was working for her….she has a part time job (not by choice). Word – Ugh! She said it would cost her over 1000.00 a month to pay for Ocare for her and her husband. She said to me how the hell am I suppose to afford that on a part time salary???? She said she is not eligible for subsidies…we are getting together soon and will talk more about this since I do not understand why she would not be approved for the subsidies.
So, bottom line – she simply cannot AFFORD OBAMACARE!!!!!!!!
I also couldn’t resist adding in how sad it is for America that they decided to vilify the Tea Party when the Tea Party only has the country’s interest at heart….
What a pitiful joke the fundamentally changed and lying ass hats the democratic party is…we all suffer because of their stupidity.

In a sane and just country, this government run VA health care scandal would be the nail in the leftist attempt at socialist takeover of medicine.
This is not surprising. As the Army Chief of Staff, Shinseki’s claims to fame were speaking out about the number of troops that were deployed to Iraq, the black beret, and the Stryker. In arguing we didn’t have enough troops in Iraq, he became one of the few military darlings of the left. He advocated 200,000-250,000 troops. Petraeus got the job done with 160,000, far less proving military smarts matters more than throwing out numbers to look good. Following Shinseki’s guidelines meant there would have been lots of troops hanging around doing nothing. So much for the concept of economy of force. In addition, having troops hanging around doing nothing or busy work leads to morale and other problems. That level of deployment was also unsustainable thanks to Clinton’s cutbacks.
As for the black beret, which was supposed to symbolize the newer more mobile Army, when we hit the ground on OIF 1 we had to scrounge for body armor to replace our VN era flak vests. But everyone had three black berets. So much for priorities. As for the Army being more mobile, the Marines had to send in the first combat brigades to Afghanistan because the Army couldn’t get brigades there fast enough and the Army was also the last branch to be ready for Iraq.
Finally, the concept of the Stryker as Shinseki put it, was to make the Army more quickly deployable because they weren’t as big as the Bradleys meaning they could be deployed faster. When the Strykers arrived they had to be fitted with cages because they were unable to take a hit from an RPG. The cages made the Strykers almost if not just as big as the Bradleys minus the superior armaments. There is no way the Strykers would have been able to come anywhere near matching the number of tank kills racked up by the Bradleys during the invasion.
Fortunately he was replaced as Army Chief of Staff by General Peter Shoomaker, an old time SFer who new his business. Out was the sensitivity training that was prevalent during Shinseki’s reign and in was shoot, move, and communicate. Emphasizing skills that increase a Soldier’s ability to survive on the battlefield. What a novel idea.
