Former Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-OH) was one of the more labor-friendly Republicans in Congress. Those close ties are paying off for him as labor unions are a major donor to his “Defending Main Street” Super-PAC, which is targeting conservatives in upcoming primaries. So far, unions have contributed $765,000 to support LaTourette’s efforts. The figure represents 86% of the PAC’s current cash-on-hand.
Need any more proof that Establishment Republicans are Democrat lite?
The LaTourette machine has quite a bit more moving parts than that. It gets into the struggles of this Tea Party Frankenstein the GOP created.
You see, many of those big businesses actually want big government because they’re cashing in. LaTourette is simply an opportunist cashing in by fighting against smaller government. As Scott Bland of The National Journal said, “Guess Who’s Funding the Republican Civil War?” or as Freedom Works big dog Tom Borelli said “this is a sophisticated get-rich-quick scheme”.
The next election will be the one that makes the least difference who we vote for, because if you vote republican or democrat, you are voting for the same thing more than ever before. I will still have to decide which of the politicians I LEAST want, instead of the ones I ACTUALLY want. I still want military personnel to storm congress and run for office.
@Ronald J. Ward: “You see, many of those big businesses actually want big government because they’re cashing in.” So, they are cashing in under the Obama administration and they want more of the Obama administration? Wouldn’t the left have a problem with that, if they actually had any principles?
