Rep. Trey Gowdy said Friday that he has evidence of a “systematic, intentional” effort by the Obama administration to withhold documents from Congress about the 2012 Benghazi attacks that killed four Americans.

“I have evidence that, not only are they hiding it, there’s an intent to hide it,” the South Carolina Republican told “On the Record With Greta Van Susteren” on Fox News. “I can’t disclose that evidence yet, but I have evidence that there was a systematic, intentional decision to withhold certain documents from Congress — and we’re just sick of it.”

House Speaker John Boehner is considering Gowdy to head a select committee to investigate the Libyan attacks on Sept. 11, 2012, that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, including two former Navy SEALs.

The speaker said Friday that the House would vote on a resolution to establish the panel next week.

Gowdy, 49, a former prosecutor who is in his second House term, made the accusations in response to a question on Secretary of State John Kerry being subpoenaed — also on Friday — by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The panel, chaired by California GOP Rep. Darrell Issa, wants Kerry to explain why the panel did not receive a 2012 email showing Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes counseling former U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to link the Benghazi attacks to an anti-Muslim video.

The email, released Tuesday by Judicial Watch, was not among the documents the oversight panel received in response to its subpoena last year. The committee received the document this week.

Judicial Watch sued the State Department for documents relating to Benghazi last year.

I understand the new committee will be headed by Rep Gowdy.
I also understand there is a move be Dems to boycott the entire committee.
So, it should be both interesting as well as less of a waste of time.

So a democrat is suggestion they boycott the Bengasi hearings on the cover up. Reminds me of a crook being detained by the police who decides to make a run for it.

TREY GOWDY
is very good, and smart, he will do a good job

If the Democrats boycott the select committee…it will be interesting to see if the MSM also boycotts coverage. Just how far is the media willing to go to protect the Obama administration? Will they throw away what little credibility they have left? The nation has not been this divided since shortly before the Civil War. We now have two media…one that protects progressives and one that covers both sides.

My guess is the MSM will boycott. Is CBS willing to cover a story where they have to issue a disclaimer that their president is the brother of the Obama aid who wrote the smoking gun memo? Will ABC’s Stepawhatshisface, a former Clinton aid, report Hillary’s involvement? Will the owner of NBC Brian Roberts allow coverage as he’s waiting for justice department to acquiesce to his take over of Time Warner? The incest in Washington is incredible.

We’ll see.

@Buffalobob: Haven’t they been effectively boycotting the investigations up till now anyway?

@VoteOutIncumbents: The media has no credibility, so forget saving that. Their current mission is to protect Hillary. As such, no doubt old buddy Steptinapileofwhat will do all he can to protect the Clinton legacy.

The one thing you can count on is that the media will be corrupt in its coverage/non-coverage and plenty of RJW’s will leap forward to gobble up every tidbit of misinformation, add their own biases and steadfastly stand behind those who contributed to the killing of these four men.

They couldn’t have put a better man on this than Trey Gowdy…I love this guy..no nonsense and to the point…Period.
