It sure looks like she’s running. Sarah Palin is continuing to make moves to suggest she will enter the presidential race, including setting her timeline for making a decision next month and now a new video released by SarahPAC highlighting her trip to Iowa last week.
The video called “Iowa Passion” uses footage of a feisty Palin, positive media coverage of her trip to the Iowa State Fair, and interviews with supporters to produce a video that looks a lot like a campaign commercial.
Palin has said she will make a decision on whether to enter the race next month. She told Fox News Thursday that she is “still listening to the debate and the discourse in the GOP line up right now and still looking for that candidate who I can put my heart and soul behind to support. If I don’t see that person here in short order I would be willing to put my name forward in the name of service.”
The video is produced by PassCode Creative which did SarahPAC’s previous videos, most notably “Mama Grizzly” which highlighted conservative women at Palin’s events around the country.
“Iowa Passion” released on Friday features Palin greeting supporters at the fair, the former Alaska governor getting some fried butter on a stick, and being followed by a mass of media around the fairgrounds. It also features friendly coverage from the media including CNN’s Wolf Blitzer saying, “How nice of Sarah Palin to stay and answer questions.” And an energetic Palin telling Fox News host Sean Hannity that there is a “great awakening of the American public” taking place.
Palin continues to be discounted by many in the GOP establishment and the press who believe she will not enter the race. Despite the media frenzy surrounding her trip to Iowa just days before the Ames straw poll, she received less than one percent of write-in votes at the poll. However, this does not deter her passionate supporters who point to her comments on Fox News and now this video as signs she will run. Many of those supporters are now in Iowa as volunteers trying to lay a groundwork ahead of what they view as an inevitable run.
The video ends with her signature mama grizzly giving a roar and a message: “Thank you Iowa! See you again September 3rd.” Palin heads back to the first caucus state that day to headline a tea party rally.
Although there has been speculation that Palin may make her announcement that day, sources close to Palin do not believe that is likely. She is still seriously considering the decision and her husband Todd is encouraging her to join the race.
The attention that Palin receives from her enemies and supporters is unbelievable at times. I spent some time checking out liberal and republican blogs, and the Tv media this morning. The instant shake and bake polls are already posted and being taken as hard facts that Palin will not stand a chance if she runs. That she is disliked by the majority of republicans as well as the libdems. I have to agree with Rush that Palins enemies are scared to death of her and using any means at their disposal to stop her from running. I would love nothing better than to see her run, it would be one of the most exciting and contentious races since 1980. But it looks as if her running is still only speculation at this point. And will not know till next month some time. Bummer.
Todd Palin, encourage faster!
I have been a fan of Sarah Palin for quite awhile, even traveling 100’s of miles just to see her speak and be part of the throng. It’s her devoted idol worshippers I object to. If you read some of their comments on blogs/articles that mention another candidate, they are almost psychotic and are simply apoplectic if you question anything she does.
She is human. Not someone to worship. We saw how that works in the campaign season of 2008 and it was disgusting then and will be disgusting now, no matter what side of the aisle you stand on. We are voters, not groupies, unlike the brain dead left that bought into the whole “hope and change” meaningless slogan.
Do I care if she runs? No, because she is a power house doing exactly what she is doing now. But all this “I may run, I don’t know, etc” is wearing a bit thin on those I know that have supported her through thick and thin.
As much as I am a proponent of Palin, it would be a bad idea for her to run. The republicans need someone that has a chance of winning. It is especially critical at this time.
@retire05: I am in agreement with you completely on how obsessed some fans can be with any politicians. Both sides are guilty of it. Am I excited that Palin may run, yes. Am I tired of the cat and mouse, yes. Is she weighing her chances? I think so. Even with all the current horses in the race, the polls still reflect what many people are saying and wanting, another horse to wager on. It still appears that many people are still waiting for that individual who will seem like a real person, open, spontaneous, articulate, and intelligent, nonpolitical correct and who can make that special connection with Americans that our professional politicians don’t even have a clue as to what it is, or where they should look for it.
@retire05:
Yes, some of her most ardent supporters rival Ron Paul’s supporters in that area. While I note her shortcomings, though, I still think she is the best person for the job right now, particularly out of everyone else that is running, although a couple of the others I like as well.
@johngalt:
I have no problem with Palin throwing her hat in the ring. But when she told Sean Hannity that she was still thinking about it and she had to decide what affect it would have on her family, give me a freaking break. Her family has been put through the absolute wringer for the last three years. If she doesn’t know what affect her running will have on them by now, she will never know.
I think Sarah is, in some ways, playing with people’s heads, knowing that by not getting in or getting out, it keeps her in the press. But the media is beginning to tire of the game and I could not find many articles on Palin this week while Bachmann, Perry and Romney are front page, right hand column. You can only play the game according to your rules just so long before the other players pick up their marbles and go home.
We don’t have the perfect electrifying candidate, if one exists; however, one thing is for sure, Palin stirs the emotions and we need someone who can light a fire in the electorate.
Palin and West, they’re the best.
One thing is for certian, if she runs if it will be a slugfest of the likes that we have never, ever seen before! The liberal propaganda machine will be working 24/7 everyday of the week till the bloody end. So much meat out there, and so little time to devour it! Perry, Rommey, Palin, Bachman, and man on man do I wish that West would run, and Cain move up in the poles. Imagine that! Not one but two conservative black men! And two conservative women to boot with traditional husbands, and children, and all are religious too. The possibilities for liberal gutter journalism can only be imagined.
@Skookum:
Do I like Allen West. Yes, and although I do not live in his district, I donated to his campaign. But West is not the perfect politician. He voted to continue the Pigford scam and when called down on it, he stated that it was a mistake because he did NOT read the entire bill. If you don’t know what Pigford is, please, brush up on it. He also caved in and voted to raise the debt ceiling, another mistake by Palin and Perry’s standards. After months of conservatives shouting “Read The Bill”, West did not and billions more will be paid to black people who do not have to really prove that they “attempted for farm.”
Retire, I knew about the debt ceiling vote. I have conflicting emotions for West’s part in the drama. I can appreciate the pressure these men were under at the time. I am still wonder what the results would have been if it would have been fought to a stalemate.
I was unaware of his vote for the Pigford scam. I know there is a tremendous amount of printed pages to be read and the enormity of the situation is nearly impossible without staff. He did admit straight up that he had not read the bill. I doubt that he would have voted for the bill if he would have read the bill, most bills are voted on without perusal. The man has honor, in my opinion, but these are black (no I didn’t intend to use the pun, for once in my life) marks.
As I said in the post, we don’t have perfect candidates. Buckley said he would support the Conservative with the best chance of winning. This is not a normal election by any means and if a bona fide Conservative is going to be elected, he or she needs to be elected and has the best chance of winning in ’12.
The naked truth is Obama will be playing the race card to the max in this election. With Cain or West as a running mate, both are honorable men in my opinion and in need of seasoning, some of that racism will be deflected.
I have just offers up a bit of races to combat racism and I feel ashamed for doing it, but this election is going to be ugly with an increase in race riots and strife to strike fear and guilt in the mind of the White voter. I hope I am wrong, but we have a racist for an Attorney General and he will let the situation get out of control for the political advantage of Obama.
I may be wrong, but if these events have not transpired a year from now, I will apologize to anyone who was offended.
In the mean time.
Maybe:
Gary, I don’t believe the Liberal distorts the facts to justify behavior. They are loyal to an ideology that maintains that the means justifies the end. Therefore lies and obfuscation are honorable because they are working towards a goal. The Islamist has the same attitude toward Jihad. It is okay to lie to the infidel and use any trick necessary to promote Jihad. The Liberal feels the same way about Socialism; honor is an archaic term written in chivalric codes, they are waging a revolution and relying on outdated terms like integrity and honor tends to put manure in the grease of the machinery.
The biggest contradiction to their strategy is an arrogant and Narcissistic leader, our president. His needs and hedonism take precedent over the ideology. The same contradictions that plagued Stalin and Mao.
@Skookum: I don’t see how you can be wrong Skookum. If we just make a prediction of our political environment into the very near future based on behaviors and statements that we have all seen, and heard from Obi and crew, the libdems, and the rhinos, and the tea party then not only will racism be used but every other trick in the book, and plenty more tricks not found in the book too. How the libdems will continue their assault on traditional american fiscal and moral values, and traditions will not only hinge on who is elected, but the pace of liberalization/socialism in American too. The liberals will not just lay down and curl up into a ball, and suck their toes as much as I would like them too if they lose/win. On the contrary, their efforts will only increase in intensity. Obi has been a catalyst for libdems in giving them more of the tasty little treats that they have been fighting and craving for. And now after having a taste of those little morsels, it has awakened in them an insatiable desire for more, and even bigger treats. I suspect that we will see riots and maybe even worse here in America down the road at sometime. Of course the press will no doubt give them a nifty sounding name like “Freedom From Want Marches”. We have two conflicting ideologies in our politics now, more so than ever before. The liberals have demomstrated numerous times that they will go to any lenghts to achieve victory. This conflict, between two sides that despise each other can have only one winner in the end. Those caught in the middle will eventuality have to choose sides. History has show us this example over and over. And why we think we may be different is irrelevant. Every other society has thought the same way. But their fates remained the same.
Skookum and Gary, here is something odd: there is a guy who posts articles under the name Ulsterman who claims he has a D.C. insider providing him information on the machinations of the administration and the Democrat Party. On August 15th, Ulsterman posted his latest “conversation” with D. C. insider who said that the Obama administration was going to use the race card hard and heavy this year. The very next evening, August 16th, a far left media talking head edited a comment by Rick Perry about “dark clouds” and called Perry a racist. I believe it was Ed Schultz, if I’m not mistaken. Schultz later had to apologize for the edit, but didn’t apologize for his comment about Perry.
Michelle Antoinette played the race card early on in the last election when she said that “as a black man” she worried about Barack’s safety every time he went to get gasoline. That race card is only going to get ramped up more this coming election season. But the thing is ask is; how long is that going to work and are white Americans getting really sick of being labeled “racist” no matter what they do?
And the race riots are already here. The recent phenomenon of “flash” mobs that are robbing stores are mostly black kids although the media is unwilling to list their race when reporting on them. Philadelphia is a hot bed and could boil over at any moment.
@Skookum: No arguement form me there on that point. I do get a kick out of how they justify to the average american why they do use the roughshod tactics like they have in the past and in the future. I would think that any rational person would know that its wrong and unhealthy to have small children to show up for Union protests, and take kids out of school, yet they justify this behavior as “leting them see democracy in action’. I think it would be more appropriate to say, “communism in action”. So they distort and confuse people by not calling a behavior for what it really is. But then again they see that behavior as only raising good little socialist/communist who will come to believe that government is the answer to all their problems just like their parents.
@retire05: Your right retire. Yes racism has already been used and its future use will only increase now by Obi and fans. You made a correct observation in the flash mobs in Philly. I was going to include that in one of my other posts as an example as to the stages of an undeclared revolution. look at England before these recent riots, they had smaller and less violent riots. But England and France are ahead of us in the disease of socialism, and a completely different stage as well. What is happening in America is a planned and organized revolution by the left to turn this nation into a socialist state, and has been for decades. its only reached this level of conflict because of several variables, the election of Obi, the world economy going to hell in a handbasket, and the tea party to name only a few factors. The liberals are using tactics which have worked for over a hundred years, plus new and even more efficient ways to speed their revolution to its ultimate destination. Yet we still have many Americans who refuse to believe that the liberals have a hidden agenda. Even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. In 1994 I had liberal professors who were angry at Clinton for not advancing the cause of liberalism faster. Yet one of those professors admitted to the class that the nation had to learn new speak first, which we all now use in various degrees. Some students viewed these professors as harmless crank pots then. But this is now and we all should know better but don’t. Many of the other students went to work in the government to help implement all these new changes. It was at this time that all the old english language was revised on all government forms to what it is today. I know because it drove me crazy to re-write everything using Pcism! But then again I made good money for contracting writing policies and procedures. And then some Americans actually begin to realize that we have to fight back, and organized the Tea Party. We now enter another stage. Active resistance of the liberal policies, and their agenda. I read that article from the insider. Is that guy crediable? Just curious.In the end the winner will be the group who can best persuade Americans that their beliefs are for the best. And you know Retire?
